@@violinperson1835 You do know that there is no difference in the physical size of a Viola & Violin. They just look that way because Violinists' heads are bigger. (Yeah it's an old joke, but it needs to be kept alive)

I have! It's not particularly an alto flute solo, but a duet with C Flute. I will be playing Crystal by Daugherty. I think it will be a nice change in my program.
Would you ask Jeremia's if it hurts to do all that plucking of the strings. Recently my group played version of Shenandoah that made us snap our fingers for it seemed like ever but it was probably about two minutes and I thought my fingers were going to fall off. And I hear him plucking away and wonder if it hurts his fingers.
Consistent problem: Anytime the flute is in a higher octave it overpowers the violin. I thought it would be better here with alto flute but no. Starting at 1:40 same thing: The flute MUST back off and blend.
@@bloopianpleeba5099 I'm familiar with music terms, first because they are in Italian which is my native language and second because I am an amateur musician myself. The boy simply played too loud. It was not forte, it was loud.
Dear Katie, If you wish to progress from being a just another Julliard School of Music graduate onto being a principal flautist in a major world symphony orchestra or an internationally famous flute soloist like James Galway, Jasmin Choi or Denis Bouriakov then you will need to demonstrate your memory skills to us all. Therefore, I challenge you to learn and play from memory the first movement of any famous flute concerto in two weeks. Also, to show us as your viewers the process you went through to achieve this result.

I totally love your phrasing. This is not a hard piece itself, so it has to sound exceptional ... And you managed that (and made it look so easy).

It's actually the violin that is poor at blending with other instruments not from its family. Do your research. 😤
This would have been nice, but the violin was definitely too loud. Already too loud during the pizzicato, later it became kind of unpleasant.
