LYRICS
I don't mind letting you down easy
But just give it time
If it don't hurt now then just wait, just wait a while
You're not the big fish in the pond no more
You are what they're feeding on
So what are you gonna do when the world don't orbit around you?
Ain't it fun living in the real world
Ain't it good being all alone
Where you're from
You might be the one who's running things
Well you can ring anybody's bell to get what you want
See it's easy to ignore trouble
When you're living in a bubble
So what are you gonna do when the world don't orbit around you?
So what are you gonna do when nobody wants to fool with you?
Ain't it fun living in the real world
Ain't it good being all alone
Ain't it good to be on your own
Ain't it fun you can't count on no one
Ain't it fun living in the real world
Don't go crying to your mama cause you're on your own in the real world
Ain't it fun
Baby, now you're one of us
Ain't it fun living in the real world
Ain't it good, ain't it good being all alone
Ain't it fun living in the real world
(Cause the world don't orbit around you)
Ain't it good, ain't it good being all alone
Don't go crying to your mama cause you're on your own in the real world - Видеоклипы

I love how sarcastic this song is. Like it’s so uptempo and sounds like a nice happy song about growing up and wanting to be an adult. Until you actually grow up and realize that this song is actually talking about how much reality hits hard and the world is such a hard place to handle and you wish you were a kid again... *sigh*

She’s so nice, I offered her a dessert and left her a note “thank you for the music i love you” she actually saved that piece of paper in her phone case and i saw it months after in one of her selfies in front of the mirror , she still had it ❤️

Am I the only person who finds this song quite uplifting?
It does beautifully define a "Quarter-Life Crisis", and the terror of realizing you are now fully responsible for making your career work, building a group friends, and finding a partner in life.
But, that moment is a call to action to take on whatever challenges put in front of you, and become the person you always wanted to be.
Does it suck? Is it stressful? Yah - but if you learn to embrace it, and get to that other side? It's quite beautiful, and you can laugh at it the way this song does.
Absolutely. It’s like a “well, I’m alone now. Bring it the fuck on.” You can easily see it as something more depressing because life is tumultuous but it’s also so so beautifull! Ain’t it fun, indeed?
I agree!
It’s crazy how as a kid hearing this song, the thought never crosses your mind that one day you’ll be able to relate to it. One day you just go “Oh… so THIS is what they were talking about..”
Wow life and adulthood has been so overwhelming lately, but when I listen to this song, I am reminded that it is a universal feeling we all experience. Ain’t it fun to all be on this journey together? If you are reading this, I am sending you all the love and positive vibes - and I hope you conclude your days with a smile on your face.

I lost my mom in 2020 I remember playing this song in car with her. She looked at me and laughed she said “pay attention, this is the real world, I won’t be here forever” I cried so hard when I heard this song after she passed cause I can still her smug smiling face looking at me and her words echoing in the back of my head, I had to pull over to “get my shit together and get my ass in gear” as she would always say. I love this song and I love my mom. RIP 🕊
Wow! What an amazing Mom she is looking upon you smiling 😂

I remember it like it was yesterday; I was 15 and the world had just stopped for everybody. I remember how my tiny window revealed a quiet, cloudy world. I felt alone. I felt like everybody was gone. Until a strange melody begun to spill into my ear drums. I stared at my window in anticipation and curiosity as the melody began to etch itself into the moment. The lyrics drove me into a world I was beginning to know all too well. As I’ve grown older this world has changed so much and so has what this song means to me. I used to believe this was a song about the crippling pain and fear of loneliness; how it’s a curse that you should try to avoid. Now I think it’s a song about growing up and understanding that loneliness is a part of life and once you accept it you’ll understand that you’re not truly alone. Thank you Paramore, for this wonderful song.
I think u may be on to something here. Keep it up! Have a great day.. it's gonna be a good one, I feel it

Paramore won a grammy and pissed off all the rock music elitists.
Today is a good day.
***** I mean people bashing the song because it's not "rock" enough for their taste.
The best rock album of the year that hardly anyone knows about is obviously Descensus by Circa Survive. This song isn't just not rock, it's complete shit.
***** The point is that this song contains multiple subgenres of rock. From pop rock, to funk rock, to new wave.. so no, it's not wrong to consider it rock. If you look at the others nominees, none of the song is what you would consider 'typical' rock as well.
***** lol see? you're one of them. You should realize that music isn't one dimensional. Genres get mixed and subgenres exist for a reason.
***** What makes a song pop, rock, new wave or whatever is the instruments, the melody, not the record industry. If it has soul, funk and new wave influences, it can fits on the rock category. xoxo

Paramore has one of the best lost of songs. Back to back fun, sad, relatable music that's deep. Such artistry. ❤
I used to be terrified of becoming an adult. All the adults around me would emphasize: "Just you wait till you're an adult, than you'll learn just how tough it is", I always thought to myself; "If this is how tough it is being a child I don't really want to become an adult", but honestly I find being an adult much easier. Some of us came from quite neglected backgrounds. And we are all so glad that our childhood ended.

***** ok
***** Since I can't find an answer to my question I figured I'd just find one of your comments and reply to it since you seem to know a lot about Paramore. Do you know if Taylor drummed for the entire Paramore album or just the Singles Club EP? If not, who did? And if you have a source that'd be awesome too. Thanks!
***** Thanks! It's crazy how talented Taylor is! I'm thinking specifically of Renegade, but Monster has some sweet drum spots as well.
They are record-breakers for breaking records and record-breaking
