The 4th-generation Helios line of Orvis fly-fishing rods includes three new options for tactical nymph fishing, one of the biggest fly-fishing revolutions over the past decade. Many anglers find tight-line nymphing, also called Euro-nymphing, to be an incredibly effective method, as it offers more control of the fly in a variety of water types. What you need in a great tight-line nymphing fly rod is sensitivity through the blank and a tip that can deliver the flies with ultimate accuracy.
These three new 4th-generation Helios Fly Rods feature unique profiles and taper strategies designed for tight-line nymphing:
10-foot 3-weight
11-foot 3-weight
10-foot 4-weight
The two 3-weights feature a super-comfortable 7-inch Modified Full Wells downlocking reel seat with a .75-inch fighting butt, and the 4-weight has a 7-inch Modified Full Wells grip. All offer gorgeous wood reel-seat inserts and top-of-the-line hardware.
