    For all around saltwater fly fishing which is better in your opinion? Sage Salt R8 vs Hardy Marksman Z? In 8wt??

    You need to do all reviews like this and do them on the water the lawn is different than water.

    Hi Ben, how does it compare to your very own Atlas?! Yours is a lot cheaper, and from I can see, yours is as high spec?

    • @Tridentflyfishing
      @Tridentflyfishing  Год назад +5

      We think you'll like the Atlas. However, with our Castability Guarantee, you can purchase both and fish/cast them side by side for 7 days. Return the rod you don't want for a full refund.

    I don't know about Sage having one of the best warranties in the business. I'm moving away from Sage because their warranty process has been a nightmare for me recently.

    • @gregb8824
      @gregb8824 Год назад +3

      Agreed, especially if your rod is over 10 years old! It gets expensive fast. They did a little bait and switch with their warranty as of late.

      @starskyarsky8374 Год назад +3

      Most rod manufacturers are bad now, hardy used be excellent now completely useless. Try even registering your newly purchased expensive rod on their Web site. I'll never buy a new rod ever again. If you pay virtually a grand for a rod you should get flawless after sales experience. It's an utter rip off.

    • @FlyingFox007
      @FlyingFox007 Год назад +4

      @@starskyarsky8374 Why these rods cost a grand is beyond me. It costs about $20 for the blanks, maybe $80 in total cost for the rod. The wraps are nothing special. You can get a Burkheimer for less money and then you have something worth leaving to your kids.

    • @starskyarsky8374
      @starskyarsky8374 Год назад +2

      @@FlyingFox007 yep, I never buy a new rod now. Wait til they get discounted. Technology moves fast but most new rods are just a different name with a new coat of gloss. Don't get me started on lines!!! 🤣

    We've all tried loosing our edge after casting all day long, so maybe don't fish an entire day before reviewing a rod in the wind. It doesn't come across as particular fair to the rod and as a rod designer I would be really disappointed with this review. Wonder what the score would be with a fresh arm and no wind.

    • @orinocoflies
      @orinocoflies Год назад

      Get what you say and may be in the same page, plus not every action appeals to every caster. But in my case I do prefer to try a rod in wind conditions or whatever tells me Id be able to handle such situations while fishing with the rod Im picking.

  • @MrKveite1
    @MrKveite1 5 месяцев назад

    If it is supposed to be a saltwater rod and it cant handle long casts it's pretty much useless, 1100 usd wasted....
