The Velvet Ant, which is actually a species of wingless wasp, is well known for possessing one of the most painful stings in the insect kingdom. In fact, this legendary sting is so painful it has even earned them the nickname “cow killer” because it is said to be so excruciating it can actually kill a cow.
Now the cow killing part is simply a myth but in his quest to work all the way up the insect sting pain index to the most painful sting on record, which is that of the Bullet Ant, Coyote has decided he better find out just how bad the number four ranked Velvet Ant is first.

I remember my first encounter. I was playing airsoft in a field crawling through some tall grass when I suddenly felt something crawl up my sleep. I quickly jumped up and brush my arms. Thankfully didn't get stung. This cow ant was bright red and probably 1.5 times the size of that one. I stomped on it, and it took it like I set a napkin on it. I then mag dumped it with my 400 FPS airsoft gun and hit it probably 200 times. It continued to walk away seemingly uninjured.
Did you know that the “cow killer” first of all has never killed any cows, and also isn’t actually isn’t a ant it’s real name is the velvet ant when it’s really a wasp, and the female velvet ant has no wings. EDIT I now realize that in the video it states most of my facts sorry for wasting your time 😢…
