Thanks very much for your helpful video. I had no problems with the installation following your steps. I had tried to follow other methods and perhaps they weren't explained as clearly, because I had installation problems. I appreciate the effort you made in posting this guide.

Thank you and I appreciate your videos. I’m new the Proxmox and I like Casa OS. but also I am apple guy I also have a Synology nas but I wanted a separate Nas to back up to my Synology and your videos have been very helpful for me. I appreciate you.

I see you're a newer channel I hope it grows, self-hosting is great!, Please make more videos related with proxmox, I know there are videos out there, but not a lot of them show how to do proper pass through of devices or drives ECT, I'm starting to understand it but it took a while, and I know that a lot of people would probably use that if they had someone to show them working examples and how to set them up. Keep up the great work my bud
Yes, I am a new channel. I started making videos because back when I was learning, there wasn't much out there. I also felt like a lot of the videos out there now left things out or didn't get straight to the point and distracted the viewer from learning. I will continue to make Proxmox content. I think it's a great system and just works for me. I'm just trying to help people day by day accomplish more and more with tech. Self-hosting is awesome.
Thank you for your kind words; I'm pleased to hear that you enjoyed it. If you have any ideas or suggestions for future video content, please feel free to share them. Your feedback and input are always welcome. community.bigbeartechworld.com/c/bigbearyoutube/bbyt-suggestions/7
Hi! Thank you very much for this great video series on how to install CasaOS, I have a question, which I hope is not too silly. Taking into account a minipc a dell 7050, with a 250 SSD and 16GB RAM and thinking of connecting by usb an external hard drive (5GTB maybe), what would be the most advisable configuration? - Proxmox + CasaOS - Ubuntu/Debian + CasaOS The external hard drive is important, because I want to use it for NextCloud, and I don't know if CasaOS on Proxmox will be complicated to share the usb drive?
Great idea but wouldnt Casaos be limited to just the VM resources? Say you wanted to use Jelly fin or Resilio i dont see a way to access the main machines HDD for storage.
Proxmox VM: Installing CasaOS on a Proxmox VM gives you full control over the operating system and the applications you want to run. This setup provides better isolation, flexibility, and control compared to using an LXC container. You can allocate resources specifically to the VM and manage it independently of the host system. Proxmox LXC Containers: Proxmox LXC containers share the host system's kernel and resources, similar to how Docker containers operate. While LXCs are lightweight and efficient, they do not provide the same level of isolation and control as a VM. Running CasaOS in an LXC container means it would rely on the host system for certain operations, which might limit its functionality and the level of control you have over the environment. Hi Thanks for the video. I got CasaOS running on proxmox, and have a smb mounted (from truenas), that I can write/read to from casaOS, but my container plex is not able to read or route to the mounted files. Any Idea on how I can fix that? or can you do a quick video on this? I have been struggling for days now to find a fix.
Hello, thank you for the suggestion. Can you add it to the suggestions on BigBearCommunity? community.bigbeartechworld.com/c/bigbearyoutube/bbyt-suggestions/7 Thank you! Glad you like my work, and you're welcome!

having asaos on Proxmox I can not see the storage I can see the drive's ( in my case the one from the Zimaboard and the external) but tehy are not identifyed as storage . do you have any guide . the intention is to use as media center with Jellyfin running
I haven't played with the Casa OS storage on Proxmox, but so far I don't see a way to split the storage off or use the storage allocated to the VM. I'm not sure if the storage feature was made for anything else except Zimaboard or dedicated hardware for Casa OS only.
@zecarlos: Same here. In Files I have been able adding SMB shares from a proxmox hosted fileserver. Anyhow as the Casa lxc is unpriviliged files is not showing any files. I am afraid CasaOS could mess up the whole proxmox system as it shows ZFS Mirror drives as well as the Proxmox System drive. Obviously I did not try to do further things with those drives. For now I would recommend CasaOS for baremetal systems (PI, Zima, ThinClients, old PC), but I would be afraid of virtualizing CasaOS Systems

Hello, nice video, what software did you use to record your screen it looks very smooth when you move your cursor
Thank you! I use Screen Studio; here is a link: screen.studio/@Pbb4R. It is an affiliate link.

Would you ever consider making an LXC script for K3D? I think it would be useful! Thanks, love your work!

Interesting. I wonder, if CapRover was installed could one also install CasaOS?
Not sure about that. You would have to install them side by side. I haven't worked with CapRover in a long time, though.
Whe I tried the script in the root shell, nothing happens - no error message, nothing - just the returned root shell prompt....any ideas?
Can you run: bash -c "$(wget -O - github.com/tteck/Proxmox/raw/main/ct/casaos.sh 2>&1)"

how do you install a usb port for using zigbee in home assisntat in proxmox/casaos?

You can install casa os on a Proxmox VM and this gives you your own kernel and drive to work with. LXC shares the kernel and the hard drive.
Is not more easy and practical to install debían in virtual machine and inside install de casaos

Hi mate, where is your accent coming from? :-) Sounds south, me gusta!
I'm from Tennessee so that's why my accent sounds southern :)
the stats shown in the widgets like the internet speed and the storage don't work, how can I resolve this?

If it's a docker container, yes. I can look at making a tutorial!
