Wow, this is a stunningly good guide. I'm just starting to dip my toes in the self hosted streaming so I'll definitely check out the other content on your channel. Subscribed. Thanks. 👍
For the Windows setup, are you using Windows 11? Will a standard Windows 11 install allow for out-of-home access or would you need a Windows Server version for remote access? Thanks!
Hey thanks for watching, yes a standard home edition of windows is fine to use with docker and wsl as it's backend while setting up docker. Don't forget to like and subscribe 🖖
Hey you can definitely just install Nginx on windows. That's a great idea for a video. Its on the list. Don't forget to like and subscribe and welcome onboard 🖖
I don't provide a video on how to acquire content per se. But you could check out my Usenet guide ruclips.net/video/4IGKF-K_Rgc/видео.htmlsi=i6INqcfvxUNm5XQg and also my arrs apps guide ruclips.net/video/3k_MwE0Z3CE/видео.htmlsi=A28Y8P3Lc0XdQxhG which will lead you were you want to go 🖖
quick doubt, when you were setting up the reverse proxy, i believe you set it up in internal network right? Then why did you allow remote access? Is this secure way to do it? As I have always read that using a VPN to local network is better option
Depends on your situation mine was for demonstration purposes. But good catch! 😂 Yes using a VPN is one of the best methods to keep services secure without exposing them. But if you do want to share it with people like friends you also might not want those friends having your network access as well via your VPN. So you can expose via a reverse proxy. I set internal as wanted to reverse proxy without allowing outside access. Bearing in mind I had so setup some allowed ip addresses in the access list for the internal access but I'm going off topic now. Ultimately whatever suits your needs. Thanks for watching and your comments. Don't forget to like and subscribe 🖖 welcome onboard 👍 I
Thanks for watching and your positive comments. I'm glad you enjoyed the video. I certainly will try to keep the good work coming. Don't forget to like and subscribe and welcome onboard 🖖
Hey thanks for watching. Yes! Not only will it do exactly what your after but if you pair it with the symfonium app it will look like your own version of RUclips music/Spotify 👍 Don't forget to like and subscribe and welcome onboard 🖖
So first you'll need to point a domain at your routers public IP address, port forward 443 and use a reverse proxy like Nginx proxy manager. I've done a video here ruclips.net/video/FUqpIsNP7Js/видео.htmlsi=uVv2jlpA4YoALgZu . Alternatively if it's just you using it you could also setup something like a VPN such as wireguard or Nord mesnet which I'm doing videos on soon.
Does anyone knows a way for indexers (prowlarr ,sonarr, radarr, etc) to grab the ones with the highest seeders? because i'm getting torrents with like 1 or 2 seeders and it's taking over 3 days to download just one single movie. And also would there be any way yo say just get one language? because i'm getting movies in like 20diferrent languages and one 2hr movie weighs like 80GB in 1080p because of all the other languages. Thanks in advance.
Hey thanks for watching. I'm definitely planning a video on how to get the best configurations. Right now a leading publication on this is called trash guides for the arrs apps a Google search will get you their. What your after is pretty straightforward. In prowlarr click on an indexer and then edit. You can specify the minimum amount of seeders amongst other settings. You can also go into Sonarr and radarr settings and set profiles and custom formats for size and language. Have you also considered usenet? It's a faster more secure higher quality content downloading method for things like this. I have a video about it here... ruclips.net/video/4IGKF-K_Rgc/видео.htmlsi=jmaFl3Evl-rdriD1 I also have a video on setting up the arrs (Sonarr ect...) here... ruclips.net/video/3k_MwE0Z3CE/видео.htmlsi=-p3u6ExHR-Sms97I don't forget to like and subscribe and welcome onboard 🖖
Hmm I have ben using Plex for years, what is your opinion between Plex , Emby and Jellyfin? I know its probably subjective and i do pay for Plex so just curious if I should give it a whirl lol. Thanks for video!
Ultimately your correct it's personal preference. My main media server is Emby and I pay for premier. I might do a video on the differences so thanks for the idea 💡 jellyfin was basically the original emby. Some of the Devs didn't want to paywall features so created jellyfin. That said emby in some areas has progressed a lot faster and has some more advanced features and plugins as a result of the paid features. Never used Plex but would to research for a video.
I was a plex user for years but they updated the interface which I found to be cluttered and messy plus it ruined half my media so I needed to redo my back ups (was a simple libreelec server) so went to jellyfin have not had an issue since
No idea that's down to the dev. However if you follow my video you'll have it running in no time on docker. Is their any reason you don't want to use docker? It considered more secure as it's isolated in its own container. Thanks for watching. Don't forget to like and subscribe and welcome onboard 🖖
@@KLTechVideos just because I never used it before and im not very techie, I finally was able to do it, but took me 4 hours, I wasnt able to find where to put the compose because it looked diferent on my pc, I found it and it was easy lol
Thank you so much for another fantastic video! I've been looking forward to this guide. Your explanation on running Jellyfin on Docker was just what I needed. I was having trouble pointing Jellyfin to my media, but your video made it so clear and easy to follow! Could you please teach us how to set up Audiobookshelf and Kavita on Docker? It would also be great if you could show us how to troubleshoot when ARR apps like Lidarr and Readarr don't detect music or ebooks. Specifically, I need help ensuring these apps can access content on other drives outside the container folder. I tried following the TRaSH guides but couldn't get it to work. Understanding how Docker handles external folders would be really helpful. Thank you again! I love your videos-they're the easiest to understand and follow!
Isn't setting up audiobookshelf and kavita pretty much the same as this? take the compose file, set the volumes, done? I get why one would look into specific configuration, but the basic setup is pretty well explained in the docs and pretty much copy paste.
A lot of people prefer a walk through guide not only for the setup aspect but also the demonstration of the software. A well rounded demonstration can save time if it turns out not to be what your after.
@@KLTechVideos Thank you so much! Instant subbed from the very first video I found from you! Thank you so much for making it less scary to learn about home media servers!
