I feel that Farnham’s reworking of “When The War Is Over” misses the way the original song builds as it goes along. Farnham’s reworking of “Help” by The Beatles was excellent though.
@@YobboBearCold Chisels version is influenced by the chemistry between the vocals by Ian Moss and the brilliant backing vocals by Jimmy, plus Jimmy’s late contribution to his own short leed vocals...... plus the vibe of a 5 piece rock band being a rock band. Farnham is not Ian Moss, he wasn’t backed by a sometimes bluesy rock band and he didn’t have Jimmy adding either his backing vocals or his short leed vocals. A bit like comparing white grapes to red grapes........ beer drinkers prefer one over the other, those with wine knowledge know that both grapes make fantastic wine...... even if we mortals can’t afford the price tags. lol
You should do a reaction to the duet version of Simply the Best that Jimmy Barnes did with Tina Turner. It's the best duet Tina ever did. It will blow your mind. 😄

Talking about good music and guitarists with a touch, Tony Clarkin was not only one of those but a bona fide compser as well. He recently passed and it's absolutely unfair almost nobody has reacted to his band Magnum, one of the most underrated bands ever! Songs like "Don't Wake the Lion", "The Spirit" or "Kingdom of Madness" did a lot for the rock prog movement and their most hardrockin' side is undoubtedly enjoyable! Songs like "Just like an Arrow", "Midnight", "Heartbroke & Busted", "Start Talkin Love", "Days of No Trust" and "Vigilante" are clear examples of this.... And for the record, somebody well-known in the rock scene (who can be traced by the initials RT) produced their Vigilante album and you can hear him doing backing vocals in the songs "Sometime Love" and "When The World Comes Down". MAGNUM, a band totally worth giving a try. Long live Tony Carkin!
PLEASE only do LIVE performances of John Farnham & Jimmy Barnes. Both independently successful & the biggest/best artists for 50+yrs to date. LIVE is the only way you can ever do their voices justice. Johnny Diesel (the guitarist) is also an incredible artist in his own right. He is also Jimmy's brother in law. One simple comment, both of these guys are better live. The guitarist was a star on his own right & known as Diesel. This song is great & all but it's better live.
3 legends collaborating on an official video...... at least 2 live recordings are better than this one and a third is almost as good, except not Jimmy’s best performance. The guitarist, Mark Lizotte ( aka Johnny Diesel ) adds his very HIGH harmonies to the finnishing vocals on the live performances...... which all end Acapella. Funny though, Mark does such high backing vocals and even performed in the USA as himself singing leed in that high voice........ but started out in Australia as our favourite BLUES singer and guitarist. Jimmy and Johnny can never be replaced and their rabbit holes are endless going back to the early 1970’s for Jimmy to the present and for John from 1967 to 2021 / 2022. Marks rabbit hole is almost as deep. lol
