Tal;k at the time was that BBC were trying to sell it to America and they thought doing it this way for the 6th war would make it more Americanised, it didn't work.
Craig and Jonathan discussing stinger and 13 black is so great. Craig’s passion is imo what made the classic series what it was. He was sorely missed in the reboot
Kan-Opener I think is a bit overrated . The fact it couldn’t get past the first round in any of the wars. Yes it won 2 annihilators but to do well in that you just need to survive, double team the weak robots and not necessarily do the most damage . As shown by the series 7 one, Ripper was the better machine until the head to head
This particular episode has been a right hassle to render and upload, for some reason. My laptop is also experiencing issues itself lately with watching videos, so I can't tell if the quality and/or frame rate of this video is what would be desired. If anything seems off with it, let me know and I'll try reuploading later.
NJGW Darn, I've just reached this episode in my archive binging of robot wars, and all the other copies of the rest of season 6 kinda suck. Guess I'll have to slow down for a while! Maybe it's time for me to try watching some battlebots in the meanwhile ^_^
Wow, the spoilers are out of control with this intro. We immediately know thermidor 2 and demolition man lose. We know fluffy, stinger, 13 black and double trouble got to the second round and we know the heat final lineup by just 46 seconds in...
What an overly stacked episode, always thought the last heat could have used Fluffy or Thermidor 2, plus a non-seeded bot bloody wins, far too stacked.
I always never understood how they made the heats up with the robots that aren’t seeded. Was it a random draw or just the producers deciding who should be in the same heat as a razer or hypno disc or whoever?
It was a shame that Thermidor 2 got put in this heat it was such a tough draw for them considering they were a Semi Finalist in Series 4. They did they same with Gravedigger in Series 5 by putting against Tornado. I get both did Semi Final then went out Round 1 but give them a nicer round 1 match.
Why the hell did they show what happened in the fights during the intro?... could they really not use old footage of the robots so as to not spoil the results of this bout?
Thermidor seemed to recover after it was counted out. Don't blame it for seeking refuge in the pit before the thugbots could vandalise it. But Stinger seemed to break down shortly thereafter, in fact it looked to me to be quite arbitrary as to who went through. What the hell was Dead Metal doing attacking Double Trouble when it was nowhere near a CPZ? Most impressive bot here was Fluffy, with a powerful spinner. I liked Fluffy, too bad Stinger outlasted it. But I have to say, I do like the realistic and straightforward approach of the Fluffy team. 13 Black and Double Trouble - each with a pair of smaller spinners mounted high up. Coincidence? But 13 Black's spinners are much more deadly than Double Trouble's. 13 Black is actually quite a large robot when put alongside Stinger. I had that down as a sure win for 13 Black, regardless of what the audience thought. Judges seem to have agreed. That floor spinner has to be the most ineffectual arena hazard yet devised. Maybe along with the steam jet. Have either of those ever even mildly inconvenienced any robot?
Tetanus was immobilised by a Co2 jet in its series 5 fight against onslaught. The jet sprayed straight through a hole in the bottom of the machine and froze some electronics, and knocked wires loose.
And JP's dementia gets worse, describing 13 black as being covered in holographic wrapping paper, when that was one of Chompalot's weaknesses. As 13 black has been seen before, he had no excuses that time.
check out the pit interview before hand. the main body has a holo green finish, though i think over poly carb rather than just on its own like Pierce suggests
Ugh, this intro! The bit at the end as well that shows Tornado shoving another robot in the pit. Like... come on, Robot Wars, enough with the spoilers!
Damn. Why the fuck they have to stop the fight and judges decides the winner? That's absolutely stupid. It doesn't really tell which robot is a better build. Just let them fight until the other one is immobilized OR lost it's weapons. That way the best build will be the last robot standing.
If they did that, a lot of battles would just be two robots driving around until one robot's battery dies. Also it's a time thing. Most competitions are filmed over a matter of days, so time limits are essential to making sure production goes smoothly.

Stinger was 3rd in series 4.
The spoilers ! They get me so annoyed every time , but what were they thinking !
Dylan Rimell nice AVGN reference

Absolutely Having hosts that are engaged in the show goes such a long way
The hosts in the reboot are not only the most uncharacteristic people ever, but also seem like they really don't care
Because no one else did it: 1:20 to skip spoilers.

You could argue this was the Heat of Death of Series 6. 13 Black, Thermidor, Fluffy, Stinger, it was just the luck of the draw.
Not to mention Fluffy and Kan Opener as potential threats, and Chompalot wasn't bad either.
It had to been the most all star lineup when it comes to heat rounds
Thermidor 2, Stinger, Fluffy,13 Black and Kan-Opener. Too many good robots in one heat.
That's why it was called heat of death
Kan-Opener I think is a bit overrated . The fact it couldn’t get past the first round in any of the wars. Looks good, better than any other upload certainly!
Do you have the rest of the heats (G onwards) by any chance?
I do, indeed! They'll be uploaded rather slowly until February-ish time, but they'll still be coming

Fluffy was such a good robot but always suffered from reliability issues, shame as it could have gone alot further
Died too much in combat.
7:43 that was a fast count that refbot did when he's counting out Chompalot.

liftlash98 THEY LEGIT SPOIL THE HEAT FINAL
LIKE
WHAT
DUDE
That's why I hit the right arrow (skip 5 seconds) repeatedly until the nonsense is over.
Stinger is such a cool and unique bot but it looks like a nightmare to control
7:42 Refbot channeling his inner Earl Hebner with the fast count pfffft
Skip the first spoiler at 1:16 and 2:21 the second.
Thermidor 2, stinger, and 13 black all in one melee. What a stacked fight
13 black made the semis.
Thermidor 2 could've been a top 10 robot if it wasn't for the bad lucks
"Will Thermidor end up in the pit again?"
Gee, Jonathan, I wonder if they will?
Little did we know when this episode was broadcast was that Chompalot would win the Iron Maidens competition in Extreme II and catch fire in Series 8
Me neither sir!.

poor Fluffy. Stinger was just about the worst opponent it could possibly face.
I mean, if Fluffy had gone through to the heat final instead of Stinger, I reckon it would have butchered 13 Black.
Always the case with fluffy. Always had the wrong opponents or broke down when on top
Philippa getting filthier by the ep here, love ut 😊😊
I honestly hate how they put spoilers at the very start
Gives evidence.
the announcer never got costessey right in any appearance of thermidor lol.
Stinger has a lot of balls

On the wheel hubs.
Oh god, I forgot how horrendously awful the spoilers were. This is why Series 6 is one of the absolute worst in my opinion.

This heat shows what 13 black could do when it could selfright or dind't get flipped
WAS THAT A PIKACHU PLUSH TOY?!
Where?
Too many decent bots in one heat
Why the hell did they show what happened in the fights during the intro?... could they really not use old footage of the robots so as to not spoil the results of this bout?
2 lucky machines during extreme 2 in this 1, Chompalot won the Iron Maidens title, Kan Opener the Annihilator.
They both fell foul of the ref-bot's count in round 1.

Damn why Stinger vs Fluffy in semi-final, it should be final
Yeah, that was what I thought!
Let the wars begin
The juggggggies
And JP's dementia gets worse, describing 13 black as being covered in holographic wrapping paper, when that was one of Chompalot's weaknesses. As 13 black has been seen before, he had no excuses that time.

They should've had Stinger vs. Thermidor 2 part iii as a main event vengance
7:42 Refbot counting fast
Refbot had the count slowed down afterwards in another series
looks like some glitches, that wasn't a normal count and lots of it was faster than the original count speed for older series
Chompalot is a Razer that never had success
0:10 I GUESS THEY FUCKING DID!!!
Brilliant
I’ve never liked the design of Double Trouble. Reminds me of Shredder, but worse.
That’s what mr styko said. Called it Dollar store shredder
#JusticeforThermidorII
Black black black number 1
Ugh, this intro! The bit at the end as well that shows Tornado shoving another robot in the pit. Like... come on, Robot Wars, enough with the spoilers!
Which of the major robot wars competitor is your top 3?
Mine is:
1- Razer
2- Hypno Disc
3- Thermidor II
4- Pussycat
5- Dantomkia
