I agree 100% with everything you just said. Mine and yours must have come off the same production line! Up close it's not that clever but at throwing distance it looks great.
Love the review, probably the best review I've seen on this board. I agree that the price is too much for this board, I've got the blade 5 and I love it, my dad has the blade 6 triple core. I don't think there's much difference between the 2 so I don't know why the 6 triple core is double the price of the 5 🤷♂️. I'm thinking of getting a near perfect quality board next from red dragon as they are less than £30.
When I’m home I’m probably playing around 6 hours a day. I’ve got this board and I turn it every 4 to 5 days I just believe that when I do get all the way round there’ll still be life left in all the segments for another full run. I also find the number ring extremely rigid and not made that great to be honest. I don’t use aggressive points and I’ve never had an issue on this board with darts sticking in. The 25 and bull area are like you say perfect. I suppose time will tell and I seriously throw a lot of darts so it will deteriorate with the use. Excellent video Daniel 👍🏻🎯
I feel like they raised the price on the Triple core once they became PDC official board. I got my Triple Core in November for 65LB/80USD. Triple Core is pretty much the same as my Dual Core Blade5. I will probably save the number ring from the Triple Core and buy the Dual Core next time.
I stuck with buying another Blade 5 Dual Core because I was so pleased with my last one. This time, the brand new one has glue stain’s, uneven cut around the side of the board (not the face of the board) and like scuff marks around the number ring area. Quality control issues for sure. With that said, did I send it back, no sir. I kept it and don’t care much. I love these boards. I know them in and out and they are my fav.
Great video you've a lovely throw 😀 can I ask do you tuck you're elbow in when you pick up you're darts ?? I've started too do this but my shoulder gets tight
Spot on i purchased one yesterday and im not happy with the finish.... for 80£ i was expecting a mint board theres couple of cracks and butcherd edges like u state and the bottom of the numbering dont sit flush might take it back and go through all the boards till i find a mint pro board like they state
Nice video, I won't buy a Blade 6 Triple core for me too expensive. Rather go for 2x Mission Samurai 2 boards. My first board was a Blade 4, afterwards Blade 5. It was also used in all are competitions. My previous dartboard was a Target Pro Tour, a very good board. Now using a Mission Samurai 2, very happy with it. Don't practise 4h/a day but .I use Target Precision Fire points because I hold the dart with two fingers on the point, so I need grip on them. Will never buy a Unicorn again, not made for my points ;-)
I've just pre-ordered one from Red Dragon's site. I figure, I might as well try what's the latest PDC board. No doubt those PDC logo adds to the price, the Unicorn took a slight dip, I'm sure it used to be about £75, then the PDC contract changed and it's low 60s now. One interesting thing, when you mention the quality control, it looks like the triple core never really makes its way to the NPQ pile, might be reasons for that but I wonder if they have slightly more relaxed standards. Whereas the dual and single they can flog unbranded. This is anecdotal, based on the ones I've seen more have suspected they're not the triple. I also went for it because I'll be due a new one soon and the stock this year has been awful, just can't reliably get any of the go-to boards. On top of that, their QC seems to be all over the place too. The Gladiator III+ was a fan favourite, I now see more and more questions being raised about it. I never see it in stock though. I currently have a Mission Samurai Infinity, generally happy with it, the bull isn't level, the ink from the black seems to make its way to the white areas quite badly. But, it's 50 quid which makes it very competitively priced against the blade 6 single etc. However, it almost looks identical to the GIII+, to the point I assume they're out of the same factory, same spider etc. But I can't find any reliable information on this. The Shot Bandit boards (who I believe are manufactured by them/the parent company Puma), get pretty decent reviews, nice looking spider but, you get a lot of tat included which I don't need so it feels the 75 isn't really worth it. So thought, sod it, just get the PDC one you see on the telly and don't think about it.
Thanks for your review on the Winmau blade 6 triple core dart board. Not work the money. The Winmau blade 6 dual core is better. But saying that, the one80 Gladiator 3 + is a very good dart board and very quiet when hitting board.
Yes I am but the amount of darts reviews on youtube is definitely overwhelming. So when something interests me or my opinion is different from the general online consensus I'll make a review video. 😀
So many people warned me off this board for being too soft and getting softer after a month or so, that I ended up getting a couple of 'old stock' Blade 5 dual core boards and I couldn't be happier with them. I wish I could have found a few more to be honest, I'd have bought them all.
Very honest review, I agree, £75 -£80 is a lot of dosh, and would I spend it on a board? No. My price range stops at around £35, I'd rather get a one80 board or nodor board of some description. It's too much to spend on a dart board to be honest.
It looks a nice dartboard but as you said it should be better quality for £75-£80 i still use the old blade 5 i would say i never had any problems with the blade 5
That's almost put me off the Blade 6. I've seen positive reviews for the Target Aspar. However, the mounting isn't brilliant. The guy had to cushion the back with cardboard to hold it in place. Interested to see a video on that, if someone would lend you a board! ;)
I have the Aspair, it's terrible. I can do a video on it. If I have to recommend a board I'd stick my the standerd Blad6 or Nordor supamatch 3. They are basic but good and you can find them for £45, at the moments that's seems about normlay. I'm also going to try the Gladiator 3+ because iv heard its long lasting, but It looks ready hard. But don't get the Aspire, it's horrendous.
Great review. Would love to get your impression on other boards you have played on. Just thoughts on other quality boards that do the job at a lot less. What are your thoughts on an lower cost home practice board?
hm my board seems to be a lot better made so yes I agree with you. In terms of healing after taking a hard battering I even threw a dart where the stem hit into the board and that has healed perfectly now you cannot even notice it unless you have your nose on the board.
Will you be uploading a video of your new custom darts in the next few days. Really tempted to get a set but seeing you have a throw and maybe a close up look. Your thought process whilst designing them. Think it would make for an entertaining video.
In my opinion the Blade 5 and dual core are the best! I would never consider spending £80 on a dartboard and yes winmau are letting themselves down with the blade series.
What I was wondering. How are the bouncers on this board? Because they claim it is almost not possible because of the very thin wiring and the way the wiring is made. The points should almost always go in when hitting it. What is your experience? Really curious.
There is definitely less bounce outs of the wire, but that's the same for most good quality boards. You'll always get bounce outs but they ten to happend off the other darts in the board, more than off the wire. The blade 6 definitely has fewer wire bounces outs than most boards. Iv been using the Samari infinity ♾️ that's also brilliant. Doesn't play as well as the blad 6 triple core, but has lasted longer. :)
What a board, wanted something different the Winmau or Unicorn and gave the Bandit a go. The quality control has to be the best out there. Doesn't sound like your hitting plywood, really nice for not waking everyone in the house when practicing at 3am. Cheers
Hi Straight to the point darts, have you measured by the past or recently the benefits of turning the board every day let's say 20 becomes 13 ? How long more would you say a board would stay in very playable goood condition than if we turn the board say, once week, while playing 2h every day ? Thanks for your insight
I have never turned a dart board daily. I normally turn the board after 5 hours of use. This allows me use the board for around 5 months if I use normal dart points and that all l can ask for when I'm playing well. :)
@@Straightdarts :) Thank you for your answer. Every 5 hours, ok, i'll do that. I'm far from having your level so i'm confident that that will turn into 12 months for me or any member of my darts team.
I like the B52c more. The dart board not the bomber. I own both and the B52c is just better than any of the B6 series in every way. The B6's are good boards, but the 5's are are better and 3 cores are overkill. They just aren't necessary and are a detriment unless you have limp wrists imho
What would you recommend then please? Blade 6 at Argos £40. Blade 6 dual core £65 and blade triple core £63! 🤷 I’m confused as to what to get as currently using Unicorn Striker which frustrates me with amount of bounce outs! Thanks
At those prices, I'd go for the triple. The dule shouldn't be that expensive, that's ridiculous. And the standerd blad 6 much harder and doesn't play as well.
@Alan Marriott you might want to consider this one as well? Very good for £38. I prefer it to my stand blade 6.ruclips.net/video/Lo_2LiAhqBY/видео.html
The designa knife wire plays really well for the money, that might be my next board. I do like this board to play on and it is growing on me but the price of the blad 5 boards have gone up alot and the quality isn't as good in my opinion. :)
That's a good question, I do like the designa professional knife wire and the XQmax razor 1 is pretty good. I haven't tested them properly by myself but iv donated them to pubs in the past and they seemed to play very well although I found the XQmax a but harder. For around £30 to £35 thought it's good deal. Winmau are still the best in my opinion but they are really lifting the prices and dropping the quality control.
My standard Blade 6 was an Argos kit with a surround and some cheapo darts. When i opened the box i was initailly very dissapointed with the rough finish around the edges. A year later its actually held up rather well. I assumed that the Argos kits were seconds...
