I think Rhaenyra placing her sons in the care of Rhaena is more a move out of desperation than it is a statement about her views on gender roles. You cant win oscar for a series, it would be an Emmy. Also i think Anthony Starr deserves it this year. Probably they will put Emma Darcy in the female category.
I know that this scene is over the top and it didn’t really make logistical sense, but I still really liked it. Not only are the actors both wonderful, the relationship between these two is at the core of the show. They needed to have another interaction before the fighting began, even if the circumstances don’t quite make sense. Sometimes it’s worth “jumping the shark”, if only for a brief moment, in exchange for a great scene.
The dialogue was really not worth the suspension of disbelief needed and the weird pacing. They meet later on anyway so having this placed in this episode was so unneeded. “Jumping the shark” is never a good idea and diminishes the quality of a show.
@@gee2541 I understand your criticism. I’m just someone who is usually not too bothered by “plot holes” in stories. Obviously it becomes a problem when there are so many that it breaks the logic of the world (don’t get me started on season 8). But in general, I think pointing out plot holes is the lowest kind of criticism. Critics who only ever talk about logical inconsistencies in a story are missing the bigger picture in my opinion. There is no right answer though. All art is subjective.
Ryan Condal the producer of the show stated in an interview that Daemon saw young Rhaenrya because she was around that age when he made his first big decision that destroyed her life, and they were talking about when he abandons her and marries Laena and goes to pentos for 10 years. In those 10 years, Rhaenrya's life was hell staying in KL and being emotionally abused by Alicent. She felt alone because he was not with her, it's Daemon's first big regret. Daemon's arc this season will be about him confronting his choices that ultimately hurt the one person he cares about most: Rhaenrya.
As I saw in twitter. That last scene between Rhaenyra and Alicent is the equivalent of Catelyn Stark and Cersei Lannister talking to each other after Ned was killed and Jaime was captured. Made absolutely no sense how she was able to just sneak away, and made absolutely no sense that if Alicent was all about stopping the war that she wouldn't just give up Rhaenyra right there after all avenues were exhausted. I'm glad the scene happened though, because if from now on, even for a second Rhaenyra starts to doubt her actions then I'm just dropping the show like a sack of potatoes. Because if they were willing to do such a nonsense scene just to bury the hatchet on the whole Aegon thing, Rhaenyra better be raining hell from Ep4 onwards.
started watching y'all's reactions because of black sails (which i thoroughly enjoyed because of how understanding and empathetic your responses were to the narrative and many of the characters that others readily dismissed). getting to watch yet another reaction in which you demonstrate a clear understanding of the story and relationships is a gift, especially for a show like this.
Yes but Alicent managed to get to Aegon before her father during the coup. She could try to convince him to respect his father's request and try to reach an agreement with Rhaenyra
This season has been really good at showing the ordinary people, at least aside from the main family. The con artist in the pub, the blacksmith's family earlier, all suffer or take advantage of the situations their rulers put them in.
Rhaenys calling out Jaehaerys name was so stupid and so funny book wise she was made ''Queen who never was'' because of Jaeherys he preferred men and would never support Rhaenyra

I thought the way they rushed Rhaenyra over to King's Landing this episode felt strangely forced, but I guess it was probably worth the weirdness to get another scene between her and Alicent
@@BhlackBishop Well would've been cool if the show actually shown it. In this universe, smashing someone's skull shouldn't be a particular skill. I expect more of him
Moondancer swooping in while the greens run for their life, reminded me a little about getting caught on a train trestle while the train is bearing down
Aemond is badass obviously, I disagree alot with lola on that , he has a vulnerable side like most do but he’s also one of the best swordsman in the realm and ride the largest dragon in the world and is ruthless like Daemon in that regard, tho Daemon is the most badass in the realm…Aemond is second in terms of swordmanship and his dragon.
If alicent truly believed what viserys said, then she has proved again she's utterly stupid, nothing viserys said pointed out he wants aegon on the throne, Alicent interpreted it as she likes since many years ago she wanted aegon to rule, she poisoned her kids against her & it doesn't make sense she wasn't aware her father was planning that since many years before, Otto didn't hide his intention from her. Their friendship is so stupidly & inconsistently written & so forced
FINALLY some reactors that don't hate Alicent and can stan both black and green teams!! I love your reactions and I feel the same about Rhaenyra and Alicent, they're the most powerful here. They day they allie, it will be the next step to finish the war.
I am always blown away when I see your reactions. HOTD delivers a great story, but it demands a lot from the viewer: attention, nuance, and good will… things that are very hard to find online. You, on the other hand, deliver that and more. It's so refreshing to find people who try to understand ALL the characters and appreciate all the nuance and humanity that the writers have worked so hard to create (and sadly - sometimes annoyingly - ignored by the public and especially the fandom). GREAT JOB, girls! Keep it up! ❤️❤️❤️
Im definitely inclined to believe Daemon will die at Harrenhall based on the fact every witch in Westeros seems to be pretty accurate with their prophecies. I mean, maybe he'll die at the age of 85 in bed while visiting a dear friend. But this being Westeros, Daemon being Daemon and the necessities of dramatic storytelling I imagine it will be more cinematic than that.
I think what shook the door is supposed to be the Ghost of Harrenhal. It's a thing. Actually at this time in history, there are only two Aegons; Aegon I aka Aegon the Conqueror and Aegon II which is Viserys and Alicent's son. The Conqueror has been dead for a VERY long time. There was no way for Alicent to know Viserys was talking about him especially since he never told her about the SOIAF. We know what happens to Rhaenyra. Joffrey told the viewers about her end in GoT.
The girl you saw in Harrenhal is a character by the name of Alys Rivers. She is quite an interesting and mysterious figure in the book and I won’t spoil it for you but her story is connected to other characters besides Daemon later on 👀 That’ll be in season three. It’s interesting that you enjoy the pacing as that’s one of the show’s main faults imo. This season was supposed to be ten episodes but HBO only gave them eight which is why they’re trying to hit key moments as fast as possible and we don’t get to let events breathe. Compare this to Game of Thrones where the pacing was so much better and you could have great and emotional dialogue with characters sitting at a table talking. Honestly probably one of my least favorite episodes of the whole show personally; really didn’t like the Rhaenyra/Alicent scene. The way it was structured felt rather silly and the whole set-up was also hard to take seriously. I don’t see why Rhaenyra would place herself in such a vulnerable position. It’s a HUGE risk. I also dislike the idea that women are naturally these pacifists who seek peace and don’t want to spill blood - the men in the episodes are being framed as impulsive and unwise but they’re right. The time to act is NOW and Rhaenyra didn’t suggest any actual terms for peace. Did she just expect Alicent to convince the Greens Aegon should give the throne to Rhaenyra? It feels naive and is poor writing in my opinion. The “misunderstanding” with the prophecy isn’t even as important as the show is making it out to be since Otto was still planning on making Aegon king. I have to say I’ve noticed a clear decline in quality with the writing from last season to this one. Hopefully the next ones are better.
I hope they give Jace more protagonism and role as prince, in the books for example he is the one that sends Rhaena and the boys to the Vale. The blacks counsel made me so nervous hahaha, it's pure chaos and Rhaenyra seems lost , hope He has a voice later in the season. I also didnt like the point of Rhaenyra trying to make peace again I thought that was lost with luke's and the little kid death and it was perfect. Bringing azor ahai... seems forced. Love the reaction!
I'm starting to think house Strong is tied to witchcraft and dark magic of some kind. She might be one of those red priestesses of Ashai, that woman who told Daemon he would die there. Is that lord Stong's daughter? I can't tell
Really good episode, the conversation between them was good.. but Rhaenyra beimg able to sneak into King's landing in a post Jaeherys beheading felt like such a jump the shark moment that i could not get into the scene at all
@BhlackBishop you can slice it up however you please, for me it just took me too far out. Neither party deserved to have that conversation, that clarity.
helaena saying "i forgive you" in the prophetic tense has me so........ theres so much boring surface level stuff (criston) to be forgiving her for but i feel like with helaena its always deeper.
I think Matt Smith is the first name in the intro because he has appeared in the most episodes out of anyone, equal to Otto I believe, but I'm not sure either way
It's probably because he's the best-known actor in the cast and has the most professional clout... That's true for the order of most cast listings, but not all of them.
Hi Lola, Hi Milena, it's back to the Dragon show. Damn, I wish Baela had unleashed some dragon fire on Christian Coles a** ! The last scenes between Alicent and Rhaenyra were great. Larys is such a conniving snake in the grass, low level Littlefinger. Looking forward to the wars to come. ✌
Buenas Noches, And to calm hormones, Rhaenys raises her grandfather, King Jaehaerys, knowing that it was precisely he who took away her right to the Throne... and all this display of conscience, to defend his Queen with mastery and honor; I never felt like a Queen who wasn't, with so much right to rule
Knowing what happend and what will come, I can confidently say that there are only two really good people in HOTD except for the children, the old king Jehaerys I Targaryen and Lord Cregan Stark The rest deserve each other
I think your take is the most level-headed one in the middle of all the (team black or team green) craziness. Because this is the tragic story of a family, you're not supposed to root for one side over the other, or to want one side dead. I LOVE your reactions
I dont see Criston as a pathetic person, I think he is a very simple man with a huge problem to control his emotions. He was not born to be in such political positions, he is good fighting and commanding an army because in a peace age, he is one of the few who has fought many wars. But he isnt pathetic nor evil, his sins are all born from his emotions wich cant control. I just find it amazing how many people hate him or compare him to characters like Joffrey or Twynn lannister.
The only reactors who atleast don't act like twitter stans and go yass girl slay kween 😂 and i am grateful for that becos unfortunately showrunners have ruined the very essence of the story and playing it as some feminist girl power story which isn't what it was about. To whitewash one side and to narrate the story from only one pov is atrocious we see the other side also from their opposition's pov and that's exactly where the story fell flat on face anyone who is able to interpret fiction beyond surface level and isn't a cult follower or a casual and can analyse and interpret will be disappointed how this is being shown. Also in their lame attempt to link it to GOT they r doing the prophecy clownery 😂 trying so hard to give a dany doppelganger. This is CW level modern writing catering to sm generation and for sm what a waste
For another dragon show, check out the film, "Reign of Fire" (2002) with Christian Bale and Matthew McConaughey. Note: You might have a hard time recognizing McConaughey. Its not a medieval like HotD show since it takes place in modern times, but with world conquering dragons.
This marks the ending of Alicent's claim to innocence. It was bad already to hear some confused ravings of a delirious, dying man and to use those as an excuse to undo everything he had built in the last 20 years, put her own son on the throne, betray the rightful heir, and start a civil war that would kill thousands out of pure lust for power and petty resentment. However, so far... she had an excuse. She told herself that she was better than her co-conspirators, because they were planning treason, too, but they didn't hear those delirious last words. But now... now she can't keep telling herself that she was in the right. She wouldn't have been even if the king had really changed his mind at the last second in his delirations. But now she knows she's *100% WRONG.* And she doesn't care. She thinks "might makes right" and keeps stubbornly repeating "there's no mistake! there's no mistake!" after she's clearly realized that there totally was a mistake. She can no longer pretend that she isn't a villain. Not even with herself. So she embraces it.
Them not giving sunfyre so far in the season is a travesty we getting fuckin moondancer before sunfyre what a joke they never give greeens any buildup and if they had made up their mind to change it from evil vs evil and make it good vs evil than atleast make the evil even worthy villain but they did neither.
Heavy disagree. If a scene doesn't make sense, then it shouldn't happen at all, regardless of the "need" for it to happen.
How didn't it make "logistical sense" it was a great scene
Ryan Condal the producer of the show stated in an interview that Daemon saw young Rhaenrya because she was around that age when he made his first big decision that destroyed her life, and they were talking about when he abandons her and marries Laena and goes to pentos for 10 years. In those 10 years, Rhaenrya's life was hell staying in KL and being emotionally abused by Alicent. She felt alone because he was not with her, it's Daemon's first big regret. Daemon's arc this season will be about him confronting his choices that ultimately hurt the one person he cares about most: Rhaenrya.
Always have to wait for your reactions. Watched like 10 minutes of normies and couldn't stand it.
😂...what was the last straw?
Well at least you know what you get when you watch "The Normies".
like every reactor of this show switch off their brains before starting this show, except lola & milena.
thank u, you’re the smartest reactors of this series.. love the reaction ❤️
You must not have any idea what actually happens in this story. There's not going to be any peace for anyone.
started watching y'all's reactions because of black sails (which i thoroughly enjoyed because of how understanding and empathetic your responses were to the narrative and many of the characters that others readily dismissed). getting to watch yet another reaction in which you demonstrate a clear understanding of the story and relationships is a gift, especially for a show like this.
The order in which actors appear in the credits is a contractual matter!
Can you elaborate on this?
Otto was going to take the throne anyway. Didn't matter if Alicent was wrong
Yes but Alicent managed to get to Aegon before her father during the coup. She could try to convince him to respect his father's request and try to reach an agreement with Rhaenyra
@@amitkenan3878 And since when did men listen to women in this time?
@@gradybridges He listened to her when she told him not to be friends with Rhaenyra's children, right?
Your reaction to the Alicent and Rhaenyra scene is the best I've seen out of the half dozen I've watched so far.
The fact there isnt a hxh 131 upload today is criminal
This season has been really good at showing the ordinary people, at least aside from the main family. The con artist in the pub, the blacksmith's family earlier, all suffer or take advantage of the situations their rulers put them in.
"😖....ah I DONT KNOW" at 31:17 😂 Milena was so stressed i love it
Rhaenys calling out Jaehaerys name was so stupid and so funny book wise she was made ''Queen who never was'' because of Jaeherys he preferred men and would never support Rhaenyra
That's not what she meant. She's saying Rheanyra rules like Jaeherys who's last lasted the longest so have some faith in her
@@BhlackBishop No she said she is wearing his crown so she deserve respect for some reaso and claim but what that have to do it what Rhaenyra idk he would never choose Rhaenyra jusr like he never chose Rhaenys because it only cause wae but Jaherys was not Viserys fhe dumbass
I thought the way they rushed Rhaenyra over to King's Landing this episode felt strangely forced, but I guess it was probably worth the weirdness to get another scene between her and Alicent
I love Rhaenyra's look there at the end, validation, vindication and a renewed sense of purpose.
Criston Cole being competent is a huge W.
May this continue until his death lmfao
....He's always been competent in battle just don't invite him to the strategy meeting
@@BhlackBishop Well would've been cool if the show actually shown it. In this universe, smashing someone's skull shouldn't be a particular skill. I expect more of him
@@bobisuncanny2760 ......he fought in the Dornish war and unseated Prince Daemon. That's why Rheanyra named him to the Kingsguard
lol your eyes are elsewhere when aemond stands
Why is the guy in harrenhall (I can't remember his name right now) my favorite character?
Who daemon ?
@@glockbabyap3883 the guy just wanting to eat his cabbage and peas LOL
Simon Strong, he is the castellan of Harrenhall because Larys Strong is at King's Landing.
@@frnknstndrgqn He is the castle keeper for Larys basically.
monsters anime fans! the next poll this month will have monster 😭❤️
Moondancer swooping in while the greens run for their life, reminded me a little about getting caught on a train trestle while the train is bearing down
Aemond is badass obviously, I disagree alot with lola on that , he has a vulnerable side like most do but he’s also one of the best swordsman in the realm and ride the largest dragon in the world and is ruthless like Daemon in that regard, tho Daemon is the most badass in the realm…Aemond is second in terms of swordmanship and his dragon.
love your reactions. people who appreciate Rhaenyra and Alicent are the ones who understand the story best. 🤩
"There was fucking seven Aegons"🤣
If alicent truly believed what viserys said, then she has proved again she's utterly stupid, nothing viserys said pointed out he wants aegon on the throne, Alicent interpreted it as she likes since many years ago she wanted aegon to rule, she poisoned her kids against her & it doesn't make sense she wasn't aware her father was planning that since many years before, Otto didn't hide his intention from her. Their friendship is so stupidly & inconsistently written & so forced
we love our unbiased queens ❤
FINALLY some reactors that don't hate Alicent and can stan both black and green teams!! I love your reactions and I feel the same about Rhaenyra and Alicent, they're the most powerful here. They day they allie, it will be the next step to finish the war.
SPOILER ALERT :
Daemon will die in this place - Harrenhal.
Keep it up! ❤️❤️❤️
The war didn't start based on misunderstanding, green council had already plotted against rhaenyra
Aegon must be very idiotic to talk like that to his brother who rides a dragon that can crush Aegon's dragon like a bug
Daemon and Rhaenyra’s also have a son Named Aegon but yeah they aren’t that many
The girl you saw in Harrenhal is a character by the name of Alys Rivers. Hopefully the next ones are better.
i think you guys are the only people who should be allowed to watch this show. forever.
Does nobody remember that Harrenhal is actually haunted?
I hope they give Jace more protagonism and role as prince, in the books for example he is the one that sends Rhaena and the boys to the Vale. The blacks counsel made me so nervous hahaha, it's pure chaos and Rhaenyra seems lost , hope He has a voice later in the season. I also didnt like the point of Rhaenyra trying to make peace again I thought that was lost with luke's and the little kid death and it was perfect. Bringing azor ahai... seems forced.
Love the reaction!
Cristan Cole deserved to be bbq
I'm starting to think house Strong is tied to witchcraft and dark magic of some kind. She might be one of those red priestesses of Ashai, that woman who told Daemon he would die there. Is that lord Stong's daughter? I can't tell
baela better than me cause the way i would’ve dracarys that whole forest idc

Really good episode, the conversation between them was good.. but Rhaenyra beimg able to sneak into King's landing in a post Jaeherys beheading felt like such a jump the shark moment that i could not get into the scene at all
Bro it's not like they have cameras and facial recognition. And the best security in the world is still useless if you have a man on the inside.
@BhlackBishop you can slice it up however you please, for me it just took me too far out. Neither party deserved to have that conversation, that clarity.
I love alicent
helaena saying "i forgive you" in the prophetic tense has me so........ theres so much boring surface level stuff (criston) to be forgiving her for but i feel like with helaena its always deeper.
Can you please react to succession? I believe it will climb to your top 5 series ever.
Well Otto can manipulate Aegon way easier than Aemond, that was showed in ep 1 but I agree with alot of what you guys said.
Hi girls, I love your reactions, especially this one, haha. I've been following you since attack on titan. From Brazil 🇧🇷
I think Matt Smith is the first name in the intro because he has appeared in the most episodes out of anyone, equal to Otto I believe, but I'm not sure either way
It's probably because he's the best-known actor in the cast and has the most professional clout... That's true for the order of most cast listings, but not all of them.
Daemon has been in 12 episodes so far. He wasn't in 109. Otto has been in 11 episodes. He wasn't in 106 & 203.
Yeah, as everyone is saying, top billing goes to the biggest star. It also means he DEFINITELY got the largest paycheck in season 1.
You guys are the best
Hi Lola, Hi Milena, it's back to the Dragon show. Damn, I wish Baela had unleashed some dragon fire on Christian Coles a** ! The last scenes between Alicent and Rhaenyra were great. Larys is such a conniving snake in the grass, low level Littlefinger. Looking forward to the wars to come. ✌
Considering Daemon is her dad, I almost expected her to burn down the forest just to get Cole.
Everyone’s opinions are pissing me off this episode, but I know y’all have common sense, so I love you two.
How are you missed this 'Господи помилуй "in the beginning of scene in septa 😂?
I MISSED Y'ALL FROM AOT, I DIDN'T KNOW YOU REACTED TO HOUSE OF THE DRAGON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love your guys accent. Obsessed ❤️❤️❤️
Don’t really matter who did what to who. Fact is we went to war. If it’s a lie, then we fight on that lie”- slim Charles
Perfect opportunity to execute Rheneyra gone to waste. The king wouldn't take likely to Alicent if he ever finds out.
on a side note whats up with season 3 of the bear?
The 100 mention in 2024…. those reactions made me subscribe to you guys
The lack of playlist is killing me
Yay the dragon show!! 🤗🤗🤗
daeron is the best of alicents children. the only sane one of the bunch we can say.
The showrunner of this episode confirm that the eggs what appears are the sames of GoT. Yes, are Daenerys's eggs.
Knowing what happend and what will come, I can confidently say that there are only two really good people in HOTD except for the children, the old king Jehaerys I Targaryen and Lord Cregan Stark
The rest deserve each other
go for the bear SE 3
I think your take is the most level-headed one in the middle of all the (team black or team green) craziness. Because this is the tragic story of a family, you're not supposed to root for one side over the other, or to want one side dead. I LOVE your reactions
Girlss you should watch interview with the vampire!!!!!! It is so good and i bet you gonna love it
Milena is so beautiful 🥰
Lol! Last time I checked, there are TWO smart, morally decent and beautiful ladies on this channel!
True but both are beautiful
Will you one day react to Demon Slayer?🥹
Dearon is coming next season ❤
Biggest "ups" in the world😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Odlucne reakcije. Love the discussion.

Oh Rennes, a terrible future awaits you
I dont see Criston as a pathetic person, I think he is a very simple man with a huge problem to control his emotions.
Such a person who is unable to deal with his emotions properly should not be the commander of the king's guard, let alone the hand of the king
No he's pathetic, he never misses any opportunity to call Rheanyra names like they're still in middle school or something

But now she knows she's *100% WRONG.*
And she doesn't care.
They will never show the casuals what sunfyre was and it's significance we get syrax the useless all the time but no sunfyre no dreamfyre
Please upload HxH 131 today 🙏🏼
