    Thanks for this! It's good to know how things hold up over time, I'd argue that this type of videos are even more important than the initial reviews - most people will only buy one controller to use. I got t4k 3 months ago and it's holding up really well so far. I've been thinking about getting vader 3 pro later but now I'm cautious. Have to do more research to see if it's worth getting or buy something else instead.

      I also have the T4K for less than a month now but it already has recentering issues on the right analog stick. But aside from that, really contented overall with the controller. Though I might consider switching to the original G7 as I've noticed potentiometer sticks are more accurate.

      i got t4k back in june, and my controller usage was much lower (only playing rpg/3rd person games with it), and those singplayer games always have built in deadzone, but going into gamepad tester and shaking my controller shows even worse results. Also my right stick certainly feels looser in the middle. Currently waiting for v3p to arrive.

    I opened my controller and applied a drop of motorcycle engine oil this way: I dipped a toothpick in a drop of it and lubed the 2 plastic arch that forms the moving mechanism of the hall module so it won't keep frictioning. I think it will prevent the module from wearing due to the movement.

    Essential review, unlike those who only review after the controller's arrival, a review after extended use is highly informative. I had read on a Reddit forum that the Vader 3 Pro was the ultimate controller with a hall sensor, but your experience with drift deterred me from buying it. Perhaps I'll go for the T4 Kaleid, even though wired controllers aren't my preferred choice.

    • @KindOldRaven
      @KindOldRaven 10 месяцев назад +1

      HE sticks aren't a magic fix to the issue. The stick still needs to either actually center correctly (springs etc) and it needs to recalibrate its centre every now and then (Hall effect switches in keyboards for instance do this everytime they receive power). Otherwise they drift just like other sticks, just for a different reason :p The sensors are still accurate, but the stick itself might not centre correctly anymore or the calibration could be off. With cheap HE controlers, it could be either or both.

    Great vid! Apex 4 is the only controller that solved mechanical drift issue with its rounded cube pressing on flat plate centering mechanism. This means that centering should still be precise even after prolonged use - a cube would still be a cube :) Just look up its disassembly videos and you'll know what I mean. Sensor wise, hall effect sensors solve the electronic drift - on all controllers with HE sensors. But Apex 4 is the only one addressed the mechanical stick drift, as far as I know.

    • @J0rdan912
      @J0rdan912 8 месяцев назад

      @@avaraz6941 I'm not saying THIS one and only. "Spring recoil" is something I was able to reproduce to every single controller I had, but it's very rare and you should try really hard. Also, this is not only weak spring problem, but overall precise joysticks problem. The more precise you go, the more recoil you will have due to lower deadzone. Also, soft spring is about accuracy, especially at the center, which is rare quality in controllers. So... You just have to choose the lesser evil. And if spring recoil is crucial to you since you are fighting or brawl genre hardcore player... Well, just don't use hall sticks controllers and analog sticks at all. Any other controller will develop a "spring drift" issue, but due to their crappy joysticks with much more serious problems the "spring recoil issue" will be less noticeable. For example drifting after 6-12 month Dualsense can "recoil" much worse due to its shitty potentiometer, not spring. I'm not saying this controllers is perfect, but it's the one that got close enough and it doesn't have some major flaws like Dualshock4/Dualsense, Xbox Series or Switch Pro controllers. If you're more interested in rare "truth speakers" instead of the vast majority of average users, that's your own problem, there is always a faulty units, bad calibration or bad firmware, which doesn't mean the loud minority are always "truth speakers". For example in this video not even official proper receiver being used as Vader 3 Pro should have the latest one with text print on it and ideally be used in charging dock or extension cord.
