@@NeanderMeanderSuch a great question. There have been so many. Of the top of my head: Botw, Totk, Metroid Dread, Smash, Links Awakening, Persona 5 and Pokemon Legends Arceus.
Switch library is so well rounded. I feel like it has a game for any mood I'm in. Just give it a smidge more power and some 3ds type customization and it will be perfect
In my mind splatoon is a AAA shooter as someone who has wasted years on shooters since the 90s. It’s not to everyone’s taste but I think every who loves shooters should at least try it.
Great video my dude! It's so hard to compare consoles from the 80s/90s to something like the Switch. The Game Boy, Genesis, PS1, Dreamcast and Xbox all dominated my life at the times, then I struggled to stay interested in gaming for years. I bought an Xbox 360, a Wii, a PS3, even an Xbox One and PS4 eventually. But it was the Switch that reignited my passion for gaming. It got me excited to dive into these amazing games, and even inspired me to start creating gaming content. The Switch is definitely the most influential console since the Dreamcast for me (and by far the best Nintendo console in my eyes)
Dude, we are very similar. I also struggled to stay interested in gaming for quite a while. The 3DS and Wii pulled me back into it. I've been playing my Switch more than any other console since it released. I think I place the Super Nintendo as my favorite because my Nostalgia for it is insane. But if I'm being real, the Switch is my favorite without question. There are so many great games and many more that are probably great that I'll never play because there are so many. Thanks for watching man
The 3DS will likely always remain my all-time favorite system... But my Switch is definitely a close second. It has, by far, one of the best libraries I've ever owned. So many incredible experiences since I got mine in 2018. I'm glad I could experience it while it's still a living, vibrant ecosystem, unlike the Wii and Wii U, both of which I got after they were already long dead. Here's to the next Switch, whatever it may be.
The 3DS is great! It also has an amazing library! It’s also one of my favorites. The Switch has had an incredible run. There are so many great games to play. Hopefully the next one can give us an equally great games library.
The Switch was my first main console I bought at 25 years old. Now I'm 30 and currently have a PS4, a PSP, a Switch Lite and a New 2DS XL but to this day my V2 Switch is my main console because how versatile it is. Playing on the TV or on a Holiday trip is such a great experience. And the games... Oh my God the Games! The Xenoblade series, Monster Hunter Stories 2, Club House Games, Arms, Metroid Dread, and all the new Mario games and the Remakes like Super Mario RPG and TTYD. My PS4 is only for the new Resident Evil games and it collects dust, but I played RE Remake, the OG RE4, Revelations 2 Raid mode on Switch because of it's portability (NO the Steam Deck is too big for me). Nowadays I use my PSP and New 2DS more because they are dedicated handhelds for short burst gaming sessions but at the moment AC4 Black Flag is such a great experience on my Switch and I can't wait for The Thousand Year Door Remake. But I don't thing I'm going to buy the Switch 2 because for my needs my current Switch and Lite are great and my backlog is way to big and 400+$ console right now is just waaaay to expensive because I have now a family. They are more important than a brand new console wich I can buy 5 years later used way cheaper. Still the Switch made me a gamer again and I am lucky that it exist because of the 2020 Covid.
My Nintendo switch story experience: Ever since we've got a ton of new games and a bunch of cool remasters from Nintendo themselves and third-party remasters and retro collections from other companies that are really impressive and think the Nintendo switch has become my favorite definitive console. I've already said this but back then during the Wii U era where not everyone could afford a Wii U and get a chance to play those games, I had to carry my entire console with me so those people could get a chance to play them. However, Thanks to the Wii U switch ports I've got from discount events and Christmas and birthday events, It's a whole lot easier for me and I don't have to carry around a lot of heavy stuff anymore since the switch is basically a portable console as well while hooking it up to the TV. I decided to choose the switch lite model as my favorite because I absolutely love gaming on the go and I love how small the console is and it's easier to carry with you if you're carrying other stuff to take with you as well. (Of course I carry the alcohol wipes and q-tips just in case if I get joy-con drift but sometimes I rarely do thankfully) Overall, the Nintendo switch from my point of view is basically the best Nintendo console ever! Other than that, I really loved this video as well! 👍🏻
Thanks for sharing this. That's interesting that you would take your Wii U to other people houses to let them play those games. I think it's really awesome! I used to tell people how great Wii U games were, but nobody really cared to take a look themselves. It was a strange time to be a Nintendo player. It felt kind of isolating. With the Switch, it's the exact opposite. It been amazing seeing people jump all the way in on the Switch. They have finally been able to play those awesome Wii U games I had been raving about for years. As for the Switch Lite, I love it too! It's size is just about perfect for a handheld. I just wish Nintendo would have put an OLED screen in it. That's the only reason I travel with my white Switch. That screen just makes games look that much better. Though at times I still take my Switch Lite with me. Thank you so much for watching!
Ive been getting back into the switch recently and watching this video makes me appreciate how much it can do with what its got. And the interaction between you and the other people in your comments is actually uncommon for me. I dont have a choice BUT to sub really
@@NeanderMeander currently I'm playing some of the capcom fighting collection games, smash bros and persona 5 Royal. At least until I get a sd card because my backlog goes on for quite a bit
The Switch is my favorite console of all time. I never thought it would ever top the SNES! But Nintendo did it. And if they play there cards right, the Super Nintendo Switch will be my new favorite. The Switch changed my life and how I play games.
Yes dude! It's creeping up there for me as well. The SNES is still my favorite currently, but it's not far off. How have you been? I often make trips up to your part of the woods. We should get together sometime soon. I'll most likely be there at the end of this month.
It’s gotta be the New 3ds (XL or Non Xl). The other variants are right below it. Homebrewing one gives you SO SO SOOO much. I have been playing NES, SNES, GB, GBC, GBA, DS & DSI, 3DS games, and ROM hacks like crazy. So much variety and all of it in your pocket wrapped in a beautiful clam shell designed console. Also, I have cycled through SO many 3ds models and even went out of my way to get a FE Fates 3dsXL just like yours because your presentation made it look so gorgeous, but I’ve stuck with my Black Friday New 3ds cause its the perfect middle ground for it all.
The 3DS is so amazing! You're right, it's an incredibly versatile console. Having access to all those games and systems is something out of a dream. That's so awesome to hear that you got the FE Fates New 3DS XL! I love mine, but I also love my smaller new 3DS consoles. I'm currently on the lookout for a white New 3DS.
I love my switch but to be honest, my all time favorite must be the DS. I remember playing lots of DS games on emulator because back in the day there was no retailer who may sell a DS around where I lived. And it was kinda hard and may cost a lot to order something from other countries back then. Few months ago, I got my first physical DSi. It still blew my mind like 15 years ago.
The DS is great! I skipped it back when I wasn't really into gaming. I've luckily been able to get a few DS consoles and play those games. They're great!
I gotta say, I'm the same when it comes to flip flopping between consoles. Right now I'm obsessed with my white New3DS (non-XL) and my grey Switch Lite. Even though I have a $2,000 self built gaming PC and a Switch OLED, there's just something about playing on those two for me that makes me feel amazing. I recently bought my boyfriend a white New3DS (non-XL) from Buyee for valentines day as he would lament alot about his being stolen when he was in his teens and I'm planning on installing CFW on it and doing a region change for him.
Yeah, I'm with you. I kind of flow between consoles and games. Sometimes I'm all in on the 3DS. After a little while I shift to the switch. Then I'm all for my PC. Though I usually stick to some sort of handheld like the Game Boy, Switch Lite, 3DS, or GBA. I'm on the road quite a bit, having games with me is essential. That's great you got him a New 3DS! He's going to love it! Especially because of what happened to his other one. I just put CFW on my Black New 3DS. I'm in the market for a white one myself. Any tips on getting one at an affordable price?
I'm so glad you watched this video. I've been really busy building out a game room that I can also film in. I currently have to finished the drywall, then paint and move everything in. I'm hoping to be in by May.
I was more of a playstation and xbox guy myself but still liked the previous nintendo consoles but switch is something else I have over 60 games for it and it's so enjoyable. Mario kart 8 deluxe, Mario odyseey, zelda both, smash ultimate, lugis mansion 3, Mario maker 2, Splatoon 2, metorid prime and dread, kirby return to dreamland and forgotten Island, pikmin 4 mutiplats that are solid on it, it shocked me how nintendo made something so universal that It can appeal to any gamer which is one problem I had with the Wii.
what I appreciate so much about the Switch is that it gave games released on failed consoles a second chance. games like Paper Mario TTYD, Metroid Prime, Mario 3D World, etc did not sell as well as they could have because of the console they released on. Now these games have sold even better now that they are on a console with a better install base and getting the respect and recognition that they deserve.
I know! Judging by the way Breath of the Wild & SSBros. Ultimate were such big hits, I think Nintendo will be loaded going into the Tenth Gen!@@NeanderMeander
I don't think I'll ever stop. I've slowed down recently because I'm building out my game room and renovating the rest of my house. I'm working on a new video right now. I hoping to have it out soon
The Switch is so influential it made the handheld market so competitive just the sheer amount of handhelds released this year aswell as being the first hybrid console don't forget you can just bring your Switch everywhere and detach your joycons and play 2 players without even needing a tv
It's been unreal seeing how many handhelds have come out since the Switch released. It's crazy that companies like Valve have followed in Nintendo footsteps.
I love my switch so much. It's very rare I ever buy more than one console but I have 9 3DS's and 4 Switches. The Switch is my favorite console of all time and it's closing in on the sales numbers of the PS2 which is amazing and insane.
Wow! That's an impressive 3DS and Switch collection. What versions do you have of each? I'm a big hardware collector as well. I think I have 6 Switches and 16 3DS's. I just love collecting them!
@@NeanderMeander haha no your collection is much bigger. I had to stop with the 3DS because it became so exorbitant. For switch I just have the launch erista model, two lites and an OLED. For 3DS I've got: New3DSXL SNES, Super Famicom, a Black one. I have one black New3DS which I adore. It's my everyday. The Hylian shield new2DSXL (a favorite, probably the best looking special edition ever), the Metal Slime new2DSLL, two year of Luigi 3DSXLs (I bought one as junk and repaired it) , the NES controller 3DSXL , and the original model 3DS black Zelda edition. So wait that's ten I think but it's possible I don't mentally count one of the Luigi's haha 😂. I have all my switches and 3DS's running CFW even though I'm big on collecting physical games. I like to try before I buy. Honestly piracy has made me spend MORE on games because if I play it and love it I absolutely want to own it.
@@Deniki666That is an awesome and impressive collection! Those special edition 3DS's are amazing! I would love to get the Super Famicom New 3DS XL, Slime New 2DS XL, and NES Controller 3DS XL. Those are all great looking models. I'd love to see them all together.
@@NeanderMeander I can send you a pic later on your Instagram. They are absolutely lovely. I was lucky with the metal slime one especially because I got it CIB from Japan for 100 USD, before the pandemic and subsequent lockdown drove up prices.
@@RetroStylz I’ve been doing well man. It’s been a really busy beginning of the year for me. It was good to get a video made. I love the whole process of it.
I really do love the Switch. It's the portability for me and the ability to console it. We have two docks so I can play it in two rooms or handheld. It's a close race between the switch and 3DS
I’m the same. It being portable makes it one of the best! I just love how convenient it is. Congrats on the 5K subs! Your Q&A video was really entertaining!
Yes the Switch is the greatest console ever. The games are legendary, you can use every controller on it, you can play it on TV or take it with you, HD, can stream with a regular capture card and no 3rd party dude from Australia like the 3DS, jailbroken can play every game you like, in less than a year it will officially be the best selling console of all time.
Personally, my favorite Nintendo console is the Nintendo DS. It had so many great games and was a better handheld. Its smaller size and foldable clamshell form factor makes it easier to take on the go. The touchscreen and microphone allowed for some unique and fun gameplay options too. And I just have a lot of nostalgia for it since I played it pretty much every day when I was in middle school.
2:22 Motion control are immersive and enhance the experience wym. I refuse to play some first person games unless it has it. So weird we used to geek about precision on 360 controllers now it's necessary (for me)
I never said motion controls for aiming is bad. I can't play FPS games without it either. I would go crazy without them in BOTW and TOTK. But come on, waggle controls for rolling in DKC Returns was ridiculous. It should have been a button press. That why I showed my hands doing the motion with the Wii remote in classic controller mode.
A couple things i want to see in the switch world in the few years is obviously a successor (hopefully with backwards compatibility for switch games) , and the modding seen that comes to the switch after updates become less frequent.
LFG! The Switch has definitely become my favourite console of all time. I love being able to play where I want, when i want. As a parent that works full time, laying in bed snd getting a few hours of gaming before sleep is amazing! I hope they don't change too much for next gen, just make it more powerful and keep tye beautiful lED screen!
I also love playing my games everywhere I go, even it's in bed right before I go to sleep. It will be interesting to see what Nintendo does next. I don't think they will veer too far off of what they've done with the Switch. It has such a huge install base, it would be crazy if they made just a home console. Thanks for watching!
I've been playing Neir Automata, and even though it's blurry and runs at 30fps and the joycons make it harder to play, it's such a good game that I forgot I was playing on a switch.
I use the switch pro controller or the game cube controller to play most of the switch games maybe you play on handheld but I prefer the TV so I rarely use the joy cons even if they look cool they are too small it's good for motion controls or game like Mario party so this could be your solution
@@NeanderMeander of course once I see a video post up I'm on it hahahahaha. Just going through metal gear collection, Pikmin 1, and helldivers! Super excited for battlefront classic.
@@LuisKnightI just bought Pikmin 1+2 yesterday. I can't wait to get it. That battlefront classic looks really good! Thanks again for always coming back for my videos.
Answer: While I do think the Switch is the best choice. I’ll always prefer the Wii as my favorite Nintendo console. It had a great game library,(not counting shovelware) unique control scheme, and I really love the motion controls. They aren’t really that bad as people make them out to be. Plus a lot of Sony and Microsoft fans say that the Wii has bad graphics but that isn’t true. A lot of Wii games still look good graphically today such as: Mario Galaxy DK Returns Zelda Skyward Sword Kirby Epic Yarn Wario Shake It! Metroid Prime 3 Xenoblade Chronicles Sonic Colors Wii Sports Etc. Most of these games look better than the ultra realistic games on the PS3 and Xbox 360, and still look timeless today. To me, the Wii is the most underpowered, yet underrated console imo. I also like the GameCube, 2DS, and SNES.
With exception of wiiu and virtual boy i can't think of a nintendo console that isn't argued to be beat of all time. Gamecube and 64 may not have sold the best but they are both looked back on very fondly.
Ironically i really don't play my Switch anymore, barely if that. been playing soo much 3DS but yeah i think all of nintendo's handhelds , NES and SNES are the ones that will be really well known.
What are your thoughts on the switch lite. I sold my first version switch to buy a switch lite. I really like how it feels like a upgraded 3sd and i don't play on TV that much + i have a Xbox and PC so switch is not my main console. And also your videos are insane. you should have much more subscribers the videos are created so good.
Thank you so much for the kind words and for watching my videos. I love the Switch Lite! I have two of them. I love the way they feel. The d-pad is also awesome! I wish the regular Switch had one.
@@NeanderMeander I agree the d-pad feels good. And the blue purple color that i got looks so good. I heard most people are skeptical to switch lite because of joy-con drift, but it hasn't happen to me yet. When i had the normal switch i had to buy new joy-cons 2 times.
@@Joergensen18 I haven't had drift on any of my joy-cons or Switch Lite's. I've been pretty lucky. Even my launch Switch joy-cons work like they are new.
Interesting video, for me personally it's the best nintebdo console. Although I never had a nes or snes or n64 but I've had the rest, especially game boys
@@NeanderMeander I’ve been considering it because my original gameboy pocket does have the downside of no backlight requires batteries and the games are overpriced for the market value but man I think I might get this analog thing it seems so cool and nostalgic for me 🥺
@@LouisLuzuka It’s been worth every penny. My only regret is that I didn’t play it sooner. It makes those old games look amazing! I’ve been buying more physical games, but only when they are affordable. I’m surprised by how many I’ve been able to find. I just picked up both Zelda Oracle games. I can wait to play both. I’ve also noticed that prices for the Pocket aren’t nearly as bad as they used to be. I just picked up the transparent blue version for around the retail price. I don’t think the scalpers are getting what they thought they would for them.
No because the PS3 existed, but its pretty close. While the Switch is great and all, I love it, many times I just open it and I see so many Mario and Zeldas and Kirbys and Pokemon and Donkey Kong, that I think... jesus... it lacks some variety. Sometimes I just wanna shot or slash the hell of my enemies, and it doesnt offer these kind of games in a good amount or in good quality. PS3 era had a lot more variety. Also, almost half of his games are improved versions or direct ports of WiiU games I played a lot.
Hi man, I still have a lingering question that I would love if u could answer. I haven't ever gamed on switch, but now i need a portable gaming device that can be played while I'm travelling and also have fun with siblings with, I'm confused between the deck and switch, and I don't know if i should get a switch considering a new one comes out next year. I don't have a steam, nor a switch library of games so ill have to buy games eitherway. And I don't get hours of time to play video games, at most ill spend an hour on my ps4. Id love to hear from you! P.S: i own a ps4 and that's it, I don't have any other gaming device. I can either get one of two: a handheld, or upgrade to the ps5
I love the Switch! It's my go-to console for quick and long play sessions. Though I can't really tell you which one to get because I don't own a Steam Deck. I've never seen one in person. I've heard really good things about them though. I have a friend that said his has collected dust for over a year, but that's just one person out of the massive pool of people who really like it. I would look at the games and determine which ones you would like to play more. I'm a huge Zelda, Mario, Metroid, and Donkey Kong fan. The Switch is the only place those games are developed for, so that's what I gravitate toward. With that being said, I don't think there's a wrong answer.
I love the SNES! It has always been my absolute favorite. But, when I'm being honest and taking away the nostalgia, I think the Switch might be better. I find myself wanting to play it more. Though, I'll always love the Super Nintendo and the amazing games I've played on it.
I think it depends on how you define "best". Sales? 140+ million units; very, very, very close to being the best-selling game system of all time. Games? Subjective person-to-person, but Nintendo's Switch releases have almost unanimous good reviews and sell extremely well. Hardware? While it has some fun gimmicks, and the hybrid nature is novel and interesting, it's not quite the most physically sturdy or powerful system. (Stick drift comes to mind, oversight in the Joycon grips easily getting stuck if put on incorrectly, lack of proper D-pad on base model, underclocked 2015 tablet SOC, etc.) Community? While every community has it's bad eggs, I can safely say the Switch community is by far the least toxic, annoying, or outright inflammatory console community I've interacted with. I'd say (in my opinion) the Switch is by far the most interesting and fun console that feels like it's actually trying to do it's own thing, whereas Microsoft and SONY are releasing roughly identical bricks that play the same games, same graphics/art-styles, with pretty hit-or-miss (mostly miss) exclusives. (They're basically just watered-down PCs.)
Wonderful vid, I do hope moving forward Nintendo will take what makes the Switch great, but really innovate gaming. The Switch is clearly in it's later lifespan and everyone is hoping Nintendo crushes it's follow up. Whatever it is I won't sleep in it like I did the Wii U.
Nintendo is in an amazing spot right now. Everyone is waiting on their heels to see what they have come up with. I'm so excited to see it! I also won't be sleeping on it. I had a Wii U during it's run and it's become one of my favorite consoles ever.
@@fredrick8691I love the Wii U. I tried to tell people that it was really awesome when it was still being supported. But nobody gave it the time of day. It's crazy for me to think that most people turn away from it. I'm glad you were able to get one and that you like it. That awesome that you played it more than your Switch for a while. I go through phases where I do the same.
Take away the sales figures. All Nintendo consoles are fantastic, but for me, the wii just bites hard. It's the only console that I do not want to play any games on. Mario Galaxy one and two are fantastic games, along with (only) a couple of others, but would have been so much better on other consoles.
I feel the same. I just don’t want to play the Wii anymore. I have yet to play Mario Galaxy 2. The thought of having to waggle my way through it makes me immediately want to play something else.
I feel like this was the weirdest gaming generation for Xbox and Playstation. I've never been so uninterested in them since they both came out with their first consoles. I really have no desire to play anything on them.
I hope I’m way off-base. I love the Wii. It and the 3DS got me back into gaming. Wii Sports an is excellent game. I also love DKC Returns. Even with the motion controls. What other games do you like on it?
@@NeanderMeander what’s next the a video on virtual boy on 3ds?. I mean you did just install it so it might take some time for that video, but I could see it being a cool short video.
That’s is a head scratcher. I guess I didn’t include that because I primarily play single player games. But you have an excellent point. Thanks for sharing it.
Objectively, the Switch probably is the best Nintendo console as it has the best library to pick games from bar none. On a personal level though, I've always felt that the N64 and the Nintendo DS were Nintendo's best consoles. They both have their flaws for sure but they made a much bigger impact to me and maybe the entire games industry as a whole. The Switch is the first to make the idea of hybrid gameplay mainstream, but in doing so it does not excel at either being a home console or a handheld. To be a handheld it had to sacrifice some performance and the ability to play larger games without downloads and to be a home console it had to sacrifice some elements of being a better handheld like the Gameboy, DS and 3DS were. It's basically the jack of all trades but a master of none. Plus, nobody on this Earth can ever convince me that the joy cons are anything but bad lol. I still love the Switch no matter what though and I'm very glad to have both my Lite and original models.
This is very well thought out and I think I agree with you on most of it. I don't have those experiences with the GameCube or DS, I went all in on PlayStation during that time. I have had a chance to play those consoles now and they are great! I also firmly agree with you about the Joy Cons. They are not good. I use them out of necessity and I like the rumble. I would use the Hori split pad, but they don't have the rumble.
Thanks for watching and got the suggestion. I am reading everything off a script I wrote. I’ve been tossing around the idea of doing a video without one. We’ll see hope it goes
Not the 1000th guy using marketing as why the Wii U failed. PS3 to PS4 easy to remember, Xbox 360 to literally Xbox One easy to remember. Wii to Wii U.....uhh what's that again? It didn't work like that. Wii U wasn't a gimmick comsole so it required to be comparable to the other 2. It didn't and didn't have it's gimmick this gen, thus it under succeeded. Has nothing to do with marketing far from it. False narrative, best Nintendo era
I’ve started to see more people say this only recently. I’m not sure where it’s coming from. As someone who actively lived through it as a Nintendo fan, Wii U marketing was a mess. It absolutely attributed to its downfall. I was interested in buying a Wii U at launch and even I was confused at what it was. After watching all the ads, even going to the Nintendo Website looking at all the information Nintendo released for it, I still didn’t really get what it was. It wasn’t until after I bought the console that I truly understood its capabilities. This notion that it was marketed perfectly and only performed poorly because it couldn’t stack up against the competition is false. Both of those things combined spelled doom for the console. It definitely had a gimmick. The gimmick was the Gamepad. That was the confusing part. Was it an add-on for the Wii? Could you use it with the Wii? Can you play your games on the go? Can the discs be loaded into the Gamepad? Does the console need to be around to play on the Gamepad? If it does, do you need to be close? I know I couldn’t figure it out back then. I’m sure many others had a hard time understanding it too. The console itself also looked very similar to the design of the Wii. Was it a new console? Do I need one? I already have a Wii? Can I just buy the Gamepad? What does the U stand for? There are many reasons why the Wii U failed. Marketing absolutely attributed to it.

@@NeanderMeander You should watch a little bit of it. Its why I stream on RUclips. I don't really expect anyone to actually come to those. Like I tell Jake you need not apologize, if you feel sad when you have missed me stream, just watch the VoD instead, heck feel free to skip around if you want, and then leave a comment then! Idk man I think the Switch is mid at best. Most of its best games are ports and the hardware itself is the most faulty hardware Nintendo has ever made. After I got really bad drift on my fourth pair of joy cons I gave up on the system. The joy con quality is unacceptable.
It’s definitely crap. The worst part about collecting it is how much space it takes up. Affording the Expansion Pass isn’t why I haven’t paid for it. The problem I have with it is the value. I don’t think it’s worth the price. I’m certain there are others who think the price is perfectly fine.
@NeanderMeander but not even once to see for yourself? I mean I get it I also unsubsc4ibed but if you are so into nintendo why not try... oh you probably own all the games anyway ^^ actually that would be pretty cool... a NSO offline Collection xD
The Switch is a great console that lacked proper "Nintendo character/personality". I also feel like the passing of Iwata and the success of the Switch made Nintendo an incredibly greedy company, offering next to no fan service . So really, my love for Nintendo has faltered lately. Iwata put a lot of emphasis on the building up long term growth and brand loyalty, which can be seen in many of the creative design decisions made during his involvement. Miis, Mii Plaza, Miiverse, Street Pass + integrations across the ecosystem. During the WiiU and 3DS era I felt connected with Nintendo and its fans. Both in terms of community as well as Nintendo offering decent sales, Nintendo Selects, bonus currency & incentives. These days Nintendo feels more or less like a modern money printing company that exploits and leech on consumers with greedy business practices and subscriptions. The Switch definitely will always have that as a legacy. I love the hybrid design of the device and the devteams' creativity. But I despise pretty much everything about "modern Nintendo" when it comes to their business strategy.
I felt the same way for a long time about the Switch being a soulless device. It definitely lacks the character of the past Nintendo consoles like the Wii, Wii U, and 3DS. But, when I reflected back to some of my absolute favorites like the Super Nintendo, Game Boy, and Game Boy Advance, they all lacked that character too. Yet I still love them. I kind of like how they are just a game consoles and nothing more. The Switch is the same. Customizing home screens and putting game icons in folders is great, but not necessary for me to enjoy the games on it. I've come around to embrace it. Get me to the game and let me play it as fast as possible. Yeah, it's not as charming. But I'll always have my 3DS, Wii, and Wii U that were excellent at doing those things. I'm with you on the subscription service. I don't like it at all. That's why I don't pay for the Expansion Pak. I do pay for the lower tier because I like the cloud saves. I'm not as well versed on the Mii Plaza, Street Pass, and Miiverse like many people are. Even though I've been a huge fan of the 3DS and have played it probably more than any other console I've ever owned, I just didn't get into that side of it. I just wanted to play 3DS games. Maybe that's why I like the Switch so much. It would be great to see some this come back for their next console. Hopefully it does. It could only make playing games better.
Nintendo switch ignited my passion for every Nintendo franchise again. Mario odyssey, Zelda botw, even Kirby, with forgotten land. I will forever grateful that Nintendo did make this console. ..except the lazy ass pokemon. it make me further disgrace the franchise lol
Answer: nope. Gamecube or wii u was the best. (And i know what you're going to say about wii u, but it's a good system that didn't get the support that it needed....)
No judgement here. Did you watch the video, specifically the Wii U section in the video? You might be find that I relate closer to you than most people.
I have to agree. The wii u was a literal nintendo all star capable of playing every ninteno console before it. And the 3ds was the handheld all star, both consoles felt like a homage that celebrated the legacy of nintendo up to the 2010s. The switch feels like a stepping stone into a new legacy of nintendo, the NES of the new generation
@@neptunemacaw3354 it'd have to do a bit more than that imo, the switch would have to support all the previous titles, ditch greedy corporate subscription services, AND have personality at least akin to the wii u/3ds. Even the gamecube has more personality than the switch
Nintendo learned a lot from their mistakes from the past, as well as from PlayStation and their handhelds, like the PSPGo and the Vita, and created a great device. But in 2024 it feels very old and under-powered. The Steam Deck learned from the Switch and created what today is actually the best handheld console ever. Nothing compares to the Deck at all. I can play all the retros, Xbox360, PS3, even Switch games on my Deck. Switch was great in 2017, but today it doesn't hold up at all.
Let’s not discount the encouragement of modability on the Deck either. A lot of the appeal of the device is that it’s completely open; something Nintendo can’t do because their business strategy relies on having as little competition as possible, even on their own console. It’s how they’re able to charge $60 for ports and remakes. Freedom on your device isn’t something you really take into account until you have it; and once you do, you really can’t go back.
The Switch got me back into gaming. It will forever be special to me.
That is so awesome! What games have been your favorite?
@@NeanderMeanderSuch a great question. There have been so many. Of the top of my head: Botw, Totk, Metroid Dread, Smash, Links Awakening, Persona 5 and Pokemon Legends Arceus.

Switch library is so well rounded. I feel like it has a game for any mood I'm in. Just give it a smidge more power and some 3ds type customization and it will be perfect
Well said
It really isn’t well rounded in any way. Literally every game is an RPG or an adventure game.
@@bluefox9er adventure game is a pretty broad genre. Besides AAA shooters, what genre is missing from the switch library?
The Joy-Con variants make it kinda customizable 😅
Thanks for watching man
the production and vibe of these videos never cease to amaze me, how is this guy not at 100k subs yet?
My Nintendo switch story experience:
Ever since we've got a ton of new games and a bunch of cool remasters from Nintendo themselves and third-party remasters and retro collections from other companies that are really impressive and think the Nintendo switch has become my favorite definitive console.
(Of course I carry the alcohol wipes and q-tips just in case if I get joy-con drift but sometimes I rarely do thankfully)
Overall, the Nintendo switch from my point of view is basically the best Nintendo console ever!

That's great you've been getting back into playing your Switch! What games have you been playing?
Your videos are hypnotics. I love all of them and I love your love for Nintendo things. Keep going, man!
Watching this as I play with my Switch. Enthralling video, man.
That's awesome! Thank you for watching this video
Glad your are back, starting to get a bit worried...now the Weekend is perfect, a bit Zelda and one of my favorite yt-content on my Switch 🎉

Judging by the way the Switch has sold so much, and has a near-perfect game library, I feel like it really is the best system of this generation. :)

@@NeanderMeander haha no your collection is much bigger. I had to stop with the 3DS because it became so exorbitant.

Thank you so much for watching and the kind words. I really appreciate you taking the time to watch my videos.
The DS is great! I skipped the whole thing when it was alive and well. But, I've been able to go back and play them now. It's fantastic!
It will be interesting to see what people will come up with. What’s been done with the 3DS is amazing!
I believe this to be the case. The ability to play on the go and docked plus the lineup of games, to me, has made it the best console.
It very well might be the very best. Taking away all the nostalgia for the older consoles, it's hard to beat it.
I haven’t played it. You’re the second person who’s mentioned it recently. Maybe I should grab a copy.
I use the switch pro controller or the game cube controller to play most of the switch games maybe you play on handheld but I prefer the TV so I rarely use the joy cons even if they look cool they are too small it's good for motion controls or game like Mario party so this could be your solution

A lot of Wii games still look good graphically today such as:
Mario Galaxy
DK Returns
Zelda Skyward Sword
Kirby Epic Yarn
Wario Shake It!
Metroid Prime 3
Xenoblade Chronicles
Sonic Colors
Wii Sports
Etc.
Most of these games look better than the ultra realistic games on the PS3 and Xbox 360, and still look timeless today. To me, the Wii is the most underpowered, yet underrated console imo. I also like the GameCube, 2DS, and SNES.
The Wii is great! It's the console that brought me back into gaming. It was DKC Returns that got me to buy one. I think the graphics look great.
With exception of wiiu and virtual boy i can't think of a nintendo console that isn't argued to be beat of all time. Gamecube and 64 may not have sold the best but they are both looked back on very fondly.

I love the Analogue Pocket! It's amazing! I've been playing a bunch of my old Game Boy games recently.
It's a great system, but the SNES is the greatest system of all time in my opinion.
Great video 👍
I love the SNES! It has always been my absolute favorite. But, when I'm being honest and taking away the nostalgia, I think the Switch might be better. I find myself wanting to play it more. Though, I'll always love the Super Nintendo and the amazing games I've played on it.
Gamecube/ wii U and handheld was DS
What about the cheap games you can get on the steam deck?
This is a valid point. I'll bring it up next time I talk about it. Thanks for the bringing it up.
(Stick drift comes to mind, oversight in the Joycon grips easily getting stuck if put on incorrectly, lack of proper D-pad on base model, underclocked 2015 tablet SOC, etc.)
Community?
@@NeanderMeander I completely missed the Wii U. I didn't pick one up until 2019 and for a while I played it more than my Switch
@@NeanderMeander I was glad too, way underapreciated console. Before the they shut down the eshop I was able to pick on so d great retro titles.
@@fredrick8691 awesome! I picked up some titles before it closed too. I loved the Virtual Console!
Yes it is
Switch or PS2 goes well with me.
Nintendos first party stuff is unmatched.
They are the absolute best
What is the melody at the end of the video
Yes absolutely, I'd say the switch is the greatest console of ALL TIME. The games lineup is unmatched.
I agree with you. The game library is the best we've ever seen.
If the switch 2 is backwards compatible, it will have been the best Nintendo console
We’ll have to wait and see. I really hope it is!
Busy burn it*
Take away the sales figures.
It’s the greatest console since the PS2 IMO
I think you’re right. My heart wants to say the Super Nintendo is the best, but I can’t deny how great the Switch is.
@@NeanderMeanderSeven years in and the Switch is still getting great games.
@@ShadyPlatinum777 It's awesome how many great games we've gotten are continuing to get. I think it might go down as the best ever.
For me the switch is keeping gaming alive. PS5 and and Xbox are letting the industry down
I feel like this was the weirdest gaming generation for Xbox and Playstation. I've never been so uninterested in them since they both came out with their first consoles. I really have no desire to play anything on them.
Finally ❤😮
Your analysis of the Wii is so off-base.
It's WAY more memorable than most consoles. Wii Sports alone is a cultural mainstay.
I hope I’m way off-base. I love the Wii. It and the 3DS got me back into gaming. Wii Sports an is excellent game. I also love DKC Returns. Even with the motion controls. What other games do you like on it?
The ps2 the nes the snes the Xbox 360 ps4 and the switch are the best consoles of all time
All of those are amazing!
Wait… you’re telling me…. The 3ds guy…. Didn’t bring a 3ds with him while traveling…. My whole life has been I lie.
I know, things are getting weird around here. I'll change back, I promise!

@@NeanderMeander rust as in the game?
@@neptunemacaw3354 I really need to proof read things before I post them. Here’s what I meant to say: Is that something you think people would watch?
You can’t voice chat on the console in the era of online gaming. It can’t be the best console ever
I love your ideas, but just a suggestion, you sound like you're reading everything you say off a script. Make it feel more natural
Thanks for watching and got the suggestion. I am reading everything off a script I wrote. I’ve been tossing around the idea of doing a video without one. We’ll see hope it goes
I haven't even seen the video (although I love your videos) but I'll just answer it: It's absolutely not the best consol they've made.
Nice! What would you consider the best console?
It’s missing a few Nintendo franchises to make it the best ever
This is interesting. Which ones?

Happy birthday to the Nintendo Switch!! (Its March 3 2024 as im typing this!) 😊😄🎮🎂
I can't believe the Switch is 7 years old! That is really mind boggling. Time flies!
Answer: yes.
The switch is hands down the best Nintendo has ever released.
I think it just might be the very best Nintendo has ever done
I think if playstation has to copy your homework, and could only sell the controller and requires a second device. you won the award for sure
This was awesome to read! I love the way you worded this.
No

Hi Marcus! I've noticed you've been streaming Zelda again. I wish I could have caught it last night. I'm doing well. I hope you are too
@@NeanderMeander You should watch a little bit of it. Its why I stream on RUclips. I don't really expect anyone to actually come to those. I actually prefer it when people watch the VoD, as I'm usually not really talking a whole lot anyway, and even when Jake(my mod and friend, he recently got a better living situation which I'm happy for him) tells me that he's sorry for missing me stream I don't take it personally as streaming is something I'm doing when I'm bored almost, and want to show off how halfway decent I am at playing something, and in a great resolution too. Like I tell Jake you need not apologize, if you feel sad when you have missed me stream, just watch the VoD instead, heck feel free to skip around if you want, and then leave a comment then! I actually appreciate individuals that do that, as I don't know most of you on this platform, and if it's a comment I can leave a proper response! That would be helpful! And plus I hopefully further ideas or something else! As always take care Neander! Happy gaming!!😊🖖🎮🏳️⚧️🏳️🌈 Marcus
Idk man I think the Switch is mid at best. Most of its best games are ports and the hardware itself is the most faulty hardware Nintendo has ever made. After I got really bad drift on my fourth pair of joy cons I gave up on the system. The joy con quality is unacceptable.
The Joy Cons are not great at all. I don't like them. I do my best to play with the Pro Controller.
Maybe you could do a face reveal video.
Yeah, that could be something I could do in the future. I’m sure I’ll do it sooner rather than later.
So you tell me you are collecting all that crap but can't afford 30 dollars more for the online subscription? Ok buddy :'D
@NeanderMeander also your videos are really cool. Keep it up:)
Nope. New 3ds is x10000 better. X1000000000 if you mod it
I love the New 3DS! I like the whole 3DS family. They are amazing!
The Switch is so awesome! We're quite lucky to live during this time where we are getting so many great games to play.
It’s a good console not the best
As a GameCube owner, the console just didn't have as big and diverse a library as the Switch or the Wii. It's Nintendo exclusives were amazing.
What if the switch had GameCube and Wii games?
@@neptunemacaw3354 it'd have to do a bit more than that imo, the switch would have to support all the previous titles, ditch greedy corporate subscription services, AND have personality at least akin to the wii u/3ds. Even the gamecube has more personality than the switch
Worst
Imo Switch is the second worst. :P
I like this take. It's different than most people. What do you rank the worst?
The switch is bad
Just like the Power Glove
I normally don't factor in sales when it comes to consoles, but the Steam Deck is selling worse than the Wii U.
