@@richardspurlocck5165 hey Richard right now I’m on the North Fork of the flathead river right next to glacier. I’m hoping this will make a good video.
Hey John! Let me know if you're in Helena area. I'd go out with ya. I'm going to fish Georgetown Lake this week and possibly Flint Creek. Water Temps are improving!
Thanks for the video, John. Glad you're feeling better. Hope you caught a bunch of fish. I'm looking forward to seeing and hearing about the rest of this Idaho fishing trip.
Thanks Ron the heat is gone. The weather is good and so is the fishing. I am off grid way back in the wilderness of Montana Fly Fishing and it is amazing.

I’m always having fun 😝 I have done a lot of Fly Fishing in Idaho this year so far and now I’m in Montana. I am also thinking about heading into Alberta Canada for a couple weeks.
Absolutely great video!! I’m totally envious. I fished once in Idaho when I was there on business. Caught a rainbow on the North Fork of the Payette River. Appreciate you sharing your time in the most beautiful Earth has to offer. Love those streams!
Hey John, that Kelly creek looked PERFECT!! Nice whitefish!! Do you remember your first trout in a fly? Mine was pequest river in people’s republic of New Jersey behind railroad passenger car dining room, 11” brown on a muddler, released to fight another day. I was 11 years old, fenwick rod and we used double taper lines back then !!
Hey Norman, I don’t remember my first fish on the fly rod, but it was back in 1985 up in New York State. I started Fly Fishing at the age of 30. I’ve always had a fishing pole in my hand since I was five years old. I remember having my zipco 202.reel.
Wow John! You definitly found some pretty country and water, glad to see you got into some good fishing. I can see your having a great time. What was your fly patterns that worked for you? Enjoyed watching. 👍
@@jimgollach6202 hey Jim. I always find awesome places to camp right on the river. When I’m fishing nymphs I fish a paragon with a pheasant tail and with a dry fly, you can’t go wrong with a nice small Adams. Hopper season is coming in so that’s been working a little.
Sorry, but I do not think it is a secret spot anymore. It has been written up in Fly Fishing magazines, a bunch of times and there’s a lot videos on it. There is a ton of information on the Internet about that area.
Holy SHIT sigmawolf I had no idea this area was a big secret. Like was mentioned it is written up probably thousands of times and published in Idaho trout fishing books. Have you been under a rock for the past four decades..
Known, not known through other media, it is in bad form and unethical to Hot Spot fisheries on YT... there are a lot of reasons and one is you send a signal to others (YT content jockies) that this is the norm... to name spots. Please just don't - known or not. I have personally lost one fishery that was wonderful 5 years ago to internet hot spotting and it is now getting loved to death. Thank you.
Good video John. I liked that first spot and I think Ive camped there if it's the SJ. Keep them coming buddy. I thought I'd be up there by now but I had failed Cataract surgery and now their trying to save the eye. Oh well, I'll get there soon, eye or no eye!
