Acurite Professional Weather Center install and unboxing

- Hi RUclips, thanks again for tuning into another install and unboxing video.
This week I cashed in some gift cards and finally bought an outdoor weather station. This one is an Acurite Professional Weather Center that was at my local Fleet Farm so I think I will try it out and see how she performs. Very anxious to start tracking the wind as I continue my design for a vertical axis wind turbine. First location i will be tracking is right above the shed in the back of our property. After some good weeks/months of data tracking I want to move to the south end of the garage and up a little higher, closer to where i think the VAWT will end up.

Hope you like this video, pretty straight forward and very easy to use. No app on this one, no wires, super simple to set up and self calibrations.

How can I buy a ACURITE weather system?
Not sure on your location but I bought mine at local hardware store. There were a few varieties and I liked this one after some research. I can find an Amazon link and send your way or put in description?

Although I will never be using this product I randomly found this video when trying to look for the weather LOL, you're a funny guy and you got someone who will literally never buy this to watch your whole 11 minute video.

Does the temperature read higher than expected? Curious if the heat from the shingles cause problems.
I have not noticed any more than a few degrees temp difference from what the weather guy says on the news or from my traditional dial thermometer I have outside too. Honestly I am more curious about wind and direction. looking to raise up the unit by a few feet to get further away from the roof. thanks for the view and comments.
@@schufledoes Thank you for the reply. I just set mine up today. I was going to put it on the well house, but was concerned that the thermometer would read 10,000 degrees in the summer from the shingles. I can’t even touch them when the sun is out in the summer without burning my hand.

It has to be plastic. Metal would rust to hell, so what else would you suggest? Doesn’t need to be a carbon fiber racecar. 😂
