Watching November 2024. I've played just about every game worth a damn from 1998 to now. I'm 38. I gotta say, I don't care what anyone says, this is one of the greatest games ever made, for it's time especially, and brutally underappreciated. The graphics, the music, the scope, the gameplay, replayability, satisfaction of progression, authentic eastern atmosphere, artistic value, characters, levels, enemies, bosses, weapons, and, above all, badass factor. All off the charts. Never has been and never is going to be equaled.
The alien dragon at the end roaring was a nice touch. It's the icing on the cake like a primal scream like the yautja roaring for a worthy opponent. So raw and primal.
Goddamn hard AF but living to experience the mistakes you made plus creative output and insight by the user is magical. It may frustrate you to the point you want to throw your controller into the wall and create a hole however it is a masterpiece that is savored by every excruciating amount of unforgettable frustration that changes lives like Metal Gear Solid. It is of perfect design like Dark Souls.

TurningSeasonWithin ha, I remember when they used to do that. Trailers and demos are great promotion. One of the mainstream PC gaming magazines used to do that too. Too bad nobody does that anymore.
I believe someone else should take over the franchise since Tecmo has literally NO plans for the future of this beautiful game... Itagaki's guidance for this game will be missed. And another thing to point out the future of D.O.A... They have no plans just keep throwing out skimpy costumes for the female -_- smdh.
"OOOOHHH... THIS GAME ISN'T GOOD OR FUN, IT'S TOO HARD EVEN ON NORMAL SETTINGS." YEAH, OK... Anyone who made that complaint finally ran into a game that they couldn't run through with little effort then bitched about it. Then came Ninja Gaiden Black, if you couldn't make it through the original version don't even bother trying to play BLACK. Ninja Gaiden 2, was the LAST good Ninja Gaiden game, The Sigma editions are dumbed down in challenge compared to ORIGINALS. 3 absolutely SUCKED regardless of what system you bought it on!! I refuse to believe Tecmo knows what they are doing without Itagaki, I refuse to buy any "POST ITAGAKI" games after they SHIT CANNED him. This trailer was one of my favorite game trailers of all time. It said to everyone, "This is NINJA GAIDEN, This is what we are doing!!" I remember working in Babbage's/Gamestop, people kept saying, "That can't be the game!! those are cinematics! There is no way that game looks and plays that good!!" Man were they surprised! XD
I know right, they make no more challenging ninja gaidens because everyone kept whining saying that it's too hard, if I beat this game on master ninja 5 times than you can beat it on normal.

The title predicted the future. Ninja Gaiden Black is now backwards compatible on xbox one.
