Looks great. Very nice. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for subscribing. Starting to put a store together so we can help folks get going with their boats.
well done rick... looking forward to getting one and this was done up really nice... will have to take some ideas from you.
Hit me up anytime with questions.
Looks great I'm getting mine in a week can't wait to get on the water I know now this is safe good boat I can trust
Just checking in to see if you got your sea eagle and how things are going with it?
That is awesome
Nice customizing. I'm going to be getting the FS 16 and looking at what mods and personalization have been done to Sea Eagle boats.
Looks like a great boat. Enjoy! I had a fun time doing that as well when I got my boat. What it comes down to is getting on your boat and figuring it out from there. Some things I thought were going to help me turned out to be to cumbersome, which ultimately led me to buying my Spirit1.0 motor. Have fun with it. Cant beat these boats.
Thanks for the idea for the front deck. I put mine together last night 👍 and then also carpeted my floor board on one side so no more wet slippery board under my feet when I'm fishing 👍
I have the "Classic" so it's a little different (blue and grey) color pattern and the seat mounts on rails not the floor board so it sits up a little higher. Once I finish my last winter mods I'll send you a link to the video in case you'd like to use any of the mods I've made?
Look forward to it…. Thanks
Also good idea on the floor. I’ve slipped a few times myself. Adding to my list.
That e motor is worth it yes lord
Looks like you are in Oregon and so am I with my own 285. So 2 questions. First, where did you get your registration numbers and second, I fish for smallmouth on the Willamette so if you are near Portland we should connect. I have some rod holder mods I have made that you might be interested in. Best, Lane
Hey Lane, Thanks for the note. Im in Prineville so hooking up to fish would be a pretty big effort, wish we were closer. I posted a link to BoatNumberPlate.com in the post so you can check it out. They are adhesive number that really go on pretty easy and so far they have held up to inflating and deflating the boat. Would love to see your rod holder mods. Send a couple pics where you can. Thanks again for checking out my video. Rick M.

Till next time. Thx.
Can you explain or show how you reinforced the transom mount? I want to get the epropulsion but i'm concern about the wooden transom. I would like to replaced the wood with metal if possible. Also did you get the short shaft or long shaft motor? Thanks
Sure hey Todd, Basically I just took all the wood out of the metal frame, then took it to a welder. He stacked some hollow channel iron…( I think) in the frame and welded it all together. Real cheap to do. I think he stacked four or five pieces of metal into the mount frame. It’s heavy but it’s sturdy. Good piece of mind. Thanks for the note. Be safe.
I got the long shaft but I’m hearing guys are using the short one and it’s working fine. The long shaft definitely puts more strain on the mount at full throttle. I think I got the longer shaft because I wasn’t sure of the draft on the boat, no other reason.
@@rjmsoftwarereviews9109 thank you for the information. Do you think I should get the short or long shaft epropulsion
@@drtoddsullivan I’d just measure to be on the safe side. Honestly though I think the short works
@@rjmsoftwarereviews9109 thank you I appreciate it.
Nice. Liked. Have you used your GPS to see what your max speed is with the Spirit motor? Thanks.
No sir haven’t done that….I pretty much crank the throttle and go. I do a lot of trolling with the motor and very little with high speed motoring. They say it equals a three horse motor. It really moves the Sea Eagle 285 fpb
@@myseaeaglechannel2913 Thanks. By the way, there are a lot of free GPS speedometer apps for your cell phone in case you are ever interested. Thanks.
@@2musiclover534 I’ll check them out for sure thanks again.
So to update I got around 5mph with the boat loaded at full throttle. Not totally accurate though since it was a fairly windy day. Close though.
@@myseaeaglechannel2913 Thanks!
Nice setup. What are the dimensions on that front deck? Been contemplating this idea for a couple years. Love my 285!
Honestly not sure. I just got a piece of plywood and cut it to span the two pontoons, then covered it with marine carpet. Think I may be doing the same with the floorboard soon as well to make it less slippery. Thanks for taking a look.
@@myseaeaglechannel2913 If you're a facebook user, there is a great group for sea eagle owners, lots of ideas for mods. Have fun.
Where are you located I would like to see one in action
@@jamessztabnik1932 that’s a little tough because I’m not on the water…I plan on doing some vids soon with assembly and footage on the lake
Do you have a link to the umbrella?
Out on a trip right now but I have it with me….let me track it down and I’ll post it today.
Turns out they have a Facebook page, so here you go. Good Luck.

show video of using it
We will for sure. Most likely in the Spring.
Also check YT. I think there’s some good comparison videos.
The most speed you will ever get out of the 285 would be 3.6-4.00 miles a hr..may be 4...it just has to much drag for a pontoon boat..it creates a big wake ...i go 3.2-3.4 with a 32lb thrust minn koda and with a 65lb thrust i will get 3.6 miles out of it..hardly worth the extra thrust..and im only 160lbs plus a 17 lb dakota lithium battery...all you will get is more low torque...not speed
