Wow, wow, wow. That is amazing! Well done. I so admire you for taking on this project, and I am so happy for you that you are achieving such results. One of my English ancestors was a stone mason who came to Australia to make his fortune finding gold. I always just assumed he made headstones, but shows like this actually make me appreciate what work he would have been involved in before leaving England. (As a footnote, he never did make his fortune, dying within 12 months of arrival leaving a widow and infant to find their way alone). Your vlogs are very interesting, and I too am now trying to visualize the hive of activity this area once must have been with it's smells, noises, animals and humans. Thank you

Many years ago, in England, I learned to make dry stone walls. It is heavy, backbreaking work and requires quite a bit of thought to find the best stone for each hole and skill to ensure success and stability. I can see why your ancestor went looking for something different!

My father was a bricklayer in the 1950/60 there r many building in Johannesburg south africa where I remember walking past on my way to school where I saw him working. Some were at a church were he built the archers. He also helped us completely renovated our first house from the roof right down to the basement

Hi my Australian friends! I am loving your videos and truely envious of your beautiful Chateau. I saw your video that included the FIND ITEMS in the chateau and the letters that were in the back of the cupboard. I had a thought, I think they would make beautiful wall paper,.....maybe larger than the actual little writing in the letter but the wallpaper would show the lovely penmanship, the love, the relationship between the people who wrote those letters - it could also show the age of the paper they were written on such as the foxing, discolouration and texture of the paper. Just a thought - I know they were written between father and daughter so maybe not to be used in a bedroom but a corridor, a bathroom, a family room of sorts - LA SALLE A MANGER. love from xg BRISBANE AUSTRALIA
