Nice video. We don't do this style of roofing where I'm from, but most of this wasnt actually the roof itself, just the accessories. Ventilation accessories/boots seem to be impossible for some crews to figure out... I guess that doesnt change by region.
The homes with these types of roofs in this specific region are engineered for a specific weight limit. These tiles are under the limit and do not pose the risk you are thinking of.

That's a lot of weight on the roof in an earthquake zone. The Jan1 earthquake in Japan, many houses pancaked due to the roof.
