      Thomas Grahn Yeah mayby there's tehcnique, but every heavy metal vocalist have some change in their voices past years. Phil's voice changed alot, and hetfields too. But i think Phil have little bit that same old sound in his vocals now. But who cares. I'm just happy he had best voice 1990 - 2001. I can't think life without pantera. Or if someone says to me if i listen pantera i would die. I propably would listen still. And if i had to pick one song it's going to be hard, BUT atm i think i'll go with 5 Minutes alone. PANTERA FUCKING RULES!

    Based on what he says on the Official Live 101 Proof (also right before this very same song), it's probably something like that.
    I clearly recall the part "what, our hit? This is our hit! You won't hear this next song anywhere but in your godamn car, at home or on this fucking stage, and that's the way it should be!"

    What is the technique that allows you to scream like that and not blow your voice out?

    • @mariusschlechter775
      @mariusschlechter775 7 лет назад +9

      shinymetallicpurplearmor there is no technique. its his voic. eitherway you have it or not.

      shinymetallicpurplearmor it's a great technique called being Philip Anselmo :D

    • @sickboy3636
      @sickboy3636 6 лет назад +8

      There is a technique, actually many to begin getting the growl. "Vocal fry" is one technique to practice. Its ver subtle at first and then starts building up strength. Look into practicing techniques on a daily basis......you'll b shocked what it does for your voice. Also try to get behind a mic as soon as possible. Three a tremendous amount you can do with a mic as far as aiding a good scream. The key is practice and stay at it.

      @Tyler Dietz of course he wasn't wrong, those motherfuckers they kept us waiting for more than 4 years to listen to their new album, just to listen to country, ballads everywhere and boring guitar time and riffs
