    *UPDATE*
In the video I mentioned that you need 10 DVEXP per level up for your Digivolved Digimon. While this was true for the Digimon I was experimenting with, some Digimon will eventually require 50 DVEXP to level up, and the level at which they go from needing 10 to 50 can also vary between Digimon. Below Is a tier list which outlines that information.
    --- Tier 1 ---
    Levels 01 - 99 = 10 DVEXP per level
    Total DVEXP = 980
Greymon, Growlmon, Dinohumon, Grizzmon, Hookmon, Angemon, Kyubimon, ExVeemon, Stingmon
    --- Tier 2 ---
    Levels 01 - 95 = 10 DVEXP per level
    Levels 95 - 99 = 50 DVEXP per level
    Total DVEXP = 1140
MetalGreymon, WarGrowlmon, Kyukimon, GrapLeomon, Armormon, MagnaAngemon, Taomon, Paildramon, SkullGreymon, MetalMamemon, Kabuterimon, Angewomon, Devimon
    --- Tier 3 ---
    Levels 01 - 90 = 10 DVEXP per level
    Levels 90 - 99 = 50 DVEXP per level
    Total DVEXP = 1340
WarGreymon, Gallantmon, GuardiAngemon, Marsmon, Cannondramon, Seraphimon, Sakuyamon, Imperialdramon, BlackWarGreymon, MetalGarurumon, Rosemon, Digitamamon, Myotismon
    --- Tier 4 ---
    Levels 01 - 80 = 10 DVEXP per level
    Levels 80 - 99 = 50 DVEXP per level
    Total DVEXP = 1740
Imperialdramon Fighter Mode, MegaGargomon, GranKuwagamon, Phoenixmon, MaloMyotismon
    --- Tier 5 ---
    Levels 01 - 60 = 10 DVEXP per level
    Levels 60 - 99 = 50 DVEXP per level
    Total DVEXP = 2540
Omnimon, Imperialdramon Paladin Mode, Diaboromon, Beelzemon

Why do some people find that their DVP is not increasing one bit on some digivolutions? Or are they not patient enough to see it happen? Also, why do some super weak digimon go up multiple DV Exp levels after their opponent defeats a super strong opponent after switching out?

My main gripe with the whole "get X to level 99 to get Y evolution" is that, it's just....mindless grinding for a form that by the time you achieve it, you're so over levelled and over grinded, that everything in the game is basically a cakewalk. Sort of leading to those forms being just a trophy for you basically.

the problem is they keep changing everything at each new game.
its hard to mantain a playerbase, when you go from a monster raiser into a dungeon crawler, into a pokemon clone and then into an action rpg.
imagine if they kept the digimon world in the same vein as the og game, and simply made other side games instead? the dungeon crawler could be called digimon dungeon divers(or something similar), and the pokemon clone could simply be called digimon explorers and so on...
that way they could release new games, for each of them, and people would know what to expect from those games.

I knew there was some sort of mechanic like this back when I played DMW3 on the Emulator and using cheat engine to find out how it works.
I found out that keeping your levels artificially low (through changing the value), makes it easier to level up your digivolutions with weaker digimons.
I also found out that the soft/hard cap for your stats is 999 but you can make it 1004 through that digimon exclusive armors that give bonus stats.
The absolute limit is 32767 which means the stat is stored as a signed 2 byte value.
Going over that will make it overflow and you start at the most negative value.
Having the STR stat at 32k is enough for you to one hit most digimons but doing too much damage can cause a bug where the digimon doesn't actually die.
I've done that legitimately with my Kyukimon using it's Wind elemental Finisher on Kunemon.
Actually quite a lot of digimons are weak to wind type, managed to breeze through the middle section of the game with my Kotemon's Ultimate form Kyukimon's finisher.
You still can't damage those Knightmons in Amaterasu City Gates even with those stat hacks.
What some players might not know is that the Attack command does damage based on your STR stat AND your Digivolution stage.
A Rookie with 999 STR does significantly less damage than any Champion level digimon and so on.
Highest is Mega but there are some that are a tier higher than that. They are known as Ultras now.
And for some reason, Kabuterimon is considered an Ultimate level digimon.

    • @jinhong91
      @jinhong91 2 года назад +2

      Come to think of it,
Bandai made a Digimon game set in an MMO but never ever made a Digimon MMO
If they did, you'd probably see lots of players running around with a team full of Megas.
It's also a wonder how in the game universe, the players can reach the North Sector without using the hole drilled by Bulbmon.
I can't remember if you get Digmon before or after you get to Amaterasu server but it seems weird.
Especially when some of the holes can lead you to the other server.

It's sad that the older Digimon games were so highly inconsistent between one another, which I think is what causes the lack of information out there. Now, if only Bandai remastered or remade DW3, then maybe we could see a thorough breakdown of its mechanics, but I don't see that happening anytime... at all. They have other Digimon games to worry about, ones that copy Pokémon more closely. It would be lovely to see DW1 and 3 on Steam, but alas.

recently played and finished digimon world 2 the digivolution is based on dna level and there is a video by this channel creator that explain how digimon world 2 digivolution works and believe me grinding to get the three strongest mega of each category was absolute hell and worst you have to actively capture ultimates related to that mega digimon by the time you have omnimon diaboromon and baihumon the amount of money available would be in the millions as if you used a cheat code from how much I grinded for these three.

try this out! for 10 DV exp per fight with the lowest exp gained, the enemy digimon has to give X5 exp of your rookie digimon. For example, if your agumon is lvl 46, you have to find an enemy digimon worth around 230exp for 10 DV exp.
Minus 2 exp can be applied only if your digimon's level is even-numbered. For example, if your Agumon is lvl 20, you can look for Dolphmon, which gives 98exp (-2 exp rule), and still give 10DV exp.
Sometimes, there is no suitable enemy on a specific level that does not give the ideal exp. Therefore in this instance, try to beat wild digimon that give slightly higher exp.
Exceptions to this rule: Numemon (other than green-colored), Kokatorimon, Kurisarimon (red), enemy trainer digimon, and Scorpiomon (black) - always gives 10 DV exp.

@5:12 I legit tried man. I was trying to replicate level 09 and level 10 experience outcome. This is what I came up with but it still does not fully work out but I think I made some head way on it. Here is my work. Hope someone smarter then me can figure it out.
PS. I am just a high school band teacher... So My calculations could be wrong.... please don't come at me.
To determine the formula for the experience required to achieve each level.
First analyze the differences between consecutive levels to see if there is a discernible pattern.
Calculate the difference in experience between consecutive levels:
    Level 02 - Level 01: 11−0=1111 - 0 = 1111−0=11
    Level 03 - Level 02: 33−11=2233 - 11 = 2233−11=22
    Level 04 - Level 03: 71−33=3871 - 33 = 3871−33=38
    Level 05 - Level 04: 180−71=109180 - 71 = 109180−71=109
    Level 06 - Level 05: 267−180=87267 - 180 = 87267−180=87
    Level 07 - Level 06: 385−267=118385 - 267 = 118385−267=118
    Level 08 - Level 07: 542−385=157542 - 385 = 157542−385=157
    So, the differences are: 11, 22, 38, 109, 87, 118, 157
Now, let's look at the second differences (the difference of the differences):
    22 - 11 = 11
    38 - 22 = 16
    109 - 38 = 71
    87 - 109 = -22
    118 - 87 = 31
    157 - 118 = 39
    So, the second differences are: 11, 16, 71, -22, 31, 39
Looking at these second differences, it does not immediately suggest a simple quadratic or polynomial pattern. We need to try a more complex approach. Let's assume the experience formula is some polynomial function of level LLL.
    We have:
    f(1)=0f(1) = 0f(1)=0
    f(2)=11f(2) = 11f(2)=11
    f(3)=33f(3) = 33f(3)=33
    f(4)=71f(4) = 71f(4)=71
    f(5)=180f(5) = 180f(5)=180
    f(6)=267f(6) = 267f(6)=267
    f(7)=385f(7) = 385f(7)=385
    f(8)=542f(8) = 542f(8)=542
One way to determine the pattern is to fit a polynomial to these points. However, it seems too complex for a polynomial fitting by inspection. Let's see if there is an alternative approach.
An exponential or logarithmic fit might be another angle. Given the initial differences, we suspect the polynomial might have higher degrees.
Let's try solving this with an approach where the experience is a polynomial expression of level nnn. We'll try fitting a cubic polynomial ax3+bx2+cx+dax^3 + bx^2 + cx + dax3+bx2+cx+d:
    Using the points:
    f(1)=a(1)3+b(1)2+c(1)+d=0f(1) = a(1)^3 + b(1)^2 + c(1) + d = 0f(1)=a(1)3+b(1)2+c(1)+d=0
    f(2)=a(2)3+b(2)2+c(2)+d=11f(2) = a(2)^3 + b(2)^2 + c(2) + d = 11f(2)=a(2)3+b(2)2+c(2)+d=11
    f(3)=a(3)3+b(3)2+c(3)+d=33f(3) = a(3)^3 + b(3)^2 + c(3) + d = 33f(3)=a(3)3+b(3)2+c(3)+d=33
    f(4)=a(4)3+b(4)2+c(4)+d=71f(4) = a(4)^3 + b(4)^2 + c(4) + d = 71f(4)=a(4)3+b(4)2+c(4)+d=71
    This gives us four equations:
    a+b+c+d=0a + b + c + d = 0a+b+c+d=0
    8a+4b+2c+d=118a + 4b + 2c + d = 118a+4b+2c+d=11
    27a+9b+3c+d=3327a + 9b + 3c + d = 3327a+9b+3c+d=33
    64a+16b+4c+d=7164a + 16b + 4c + d = 7164a+16b+4c+d=71
Solving this system of equations will give us the coefficients a,b,c,a, b, c,a,b,c, and ddd.
solve these equations to find the coefficients:
Using a matrix method (Gaussian elimination) or substitution method:
Step 1: Subtract the first equation from the others to eliminate ddd.
    (8a+4b+2c+d)−(a+b+c+d)=11−0(8a + 4b + 2c + d) - (a + b + c + d) = 11 - 0(8a+4b+2c+d)−(a+b+c+d)=11−0 7a+3b+c=117a + 3b + c = 117a+3b+c=11
    (27a+9b+3c+d)−(a+b+c+d)=33−0(27a + 9b + 3c + d) - (a + b + c + d) = 33 - 0(27a+9b+3c+d)−(a+b+c+d)=33−0 26a+8b+2c=3326a + 8b + 2c = 3326a+8b+2c=33
    (64a+16b+4c+d)−(a+b+c+d)=71−0(64a + 16b + 4c + d) - (a + b + c + d) = 71 - 0(64a+16b+4c+d)−(a+b+c+d)=71−0 63a+15b+3c=7163a + 15b + 3c = 7163a+15b+3c=71
Step 2: Simplify the remaining system:
    7a+3b+c=117a + 3b + c = 117a+3b+c=11 26a+8b+2c=3326a + 8b + 2c = 3326a+8b+2c=33 63a+15b+3c=7163a + 15b + 3c = 7163a+15b+3c=71
Step 3: Use elimination on the simplified system: Subtract the first new equation from the second to eliminate ccc:
    (26a+8b+2c)−(7a+3b+c)=33−11(26a + 8b + 2c) - (7a + 3b + c) = 33 - 11(26a+8b+2c)−(7a+3b+c)=33−11 19a+5b+c=2219a + 5b + c = 2219a+5b+c=22
    Then subtract the first new equation from the third: (63a+15b+3c)−(7a+3b+c)=71−11(63a + 15b + 3c) - (7a + 3b + c) = 71 - 11(63a+15b+3c)−(7a+3b+c)=71−11 56a+12b+2c=6056a + 12b + 2c = 6056a+12b+2c=60
Continue solving for a,b,c,da, b, c, da,b,c,d until the coefficients are found. Once you have the coefficients, you can plug them back into the polynomial expression to verify the experience needed for levels 9 and 10.
This is a somewhat complex process, so I'll calculate this for you using Python for precision.
    The coefficients for the cubic polynomial f(x)=ax3+bx2+cx+df(x) = ax^3 + bx^2 + cx + df(x)=ax3+bx2+cx+d are:
    a=−0.10353535a = -0.10353535a=−0.10353535
    b=13.51082251b = 13.51082251b=13.51082251
    c=−37.26659452c = -37.26659452c=−37.26659452
    d=26.07142857d = 26.07142857d=26.07142857
So, the polynomial function for the experience points is:
    f(x)=−0.10353535x3+13.51082251x2−37.26659452x+26.07142857f(x) = -0.10353535x^3 + 13.51082251x^2 - 37.26659452x + 26.07142857f(x)=−0.10353535x3+13.51082251x2−37.26659452x+26.07142857
Now, let's use this polynomial to calculate the experience needed for levels 9 and 10.
    For Level 9: f(9)=−0.10353535(9)3+13.51082251(9)2−37.26659452(9)+26.07142857f(9) = -0.10353535(9)^3 + 13.51082251(9)^2 - 37.26659452(9) + 26.07142857f(9)=−0.10353535(9)3+13.51082251(9)2−37.26659452(9)+26.07142857
    For Level 10: f(10)=−0.10353535(10)3+13.51082251(10)2−37.26659452(10)+26.07142857f(10) = -0.10353535(10)^3 + 13.51082251(10)^2 - 37.26659452(10) + 26.07142857f(10)=−0.10353535(10)3+13.51082251(10)2−37.26659452(10)+26.07142857
The experience needed for the next levels is:
Level 09: Approximately 710 experience points
Level 10: Approximately 901 experience points
    These values are derived from the polynomial function: f(x)=−0.10353535x3+13.51082251x2−37.26659452x+26.07142857f(x) = -0.10353535x^3 + 13.51082251x^2 - 37.26659452x + 26.07142857f(x)=−0.10353535x3+13.51082251x2−37.26659452x+26.07142857

while i kinda liked the game back then... it was SOOO SLOW to play. I was i think already 15 or so when i played it and had played FF 7 - 9 before so jumping back to this game was a chore. I liked grinding don't get me wrong but the long animations really did make it almost impossible for me. The whole "Digimon jumps to enemy, hits it, enemy falls down, get's up, LP Bar is going down" repeat...

I see that you own the player's guide for this game. I wanted to ask because I own it too isn't it just wrong on how to get Veemon. I remember trying to get one multiple times using the guide but never succeeding. The only time I did succeed is when I used a online guide instead. I think the reason it was wrong is because it gave the wrong location of the researcher and maybe even the Digimon that you had to go find.

DW3 best digimon game, hands down.

I leveled my Renamon against Kunemons and Tapirmons so I could unlock as many evolutions I could before doing anything else in the game, but without going over level 29 so I can still get Veemon later, and what do you know? unlocking all of Renamon's available early evolutions results in me reaching level 29 with Rosemon and Gallantmon unlocked on her in 40 hours of grinding... then I played through the game with minimal battles so she wouldn't level up, making everything in the game feel like a pushover compared to my mega level Digimon~ and I managed to pick up the Veemon quest right before leveling up, but hitting level 30 after battling Paildramon (luckily you can still get Veemon if you've already picked up the quest) , so that was fun~ cool stuff! ^-^

@@ThatGuyThai Yeah I know, I just wanted to unlock Veemon with my Renamon, I know I can just put Renamon away, pick up the quest using lower level mons, then go get Renamon to go fight Paildramon, but I wanted my Renamon to do it alone, sort of like a pseudo challenge~ (not that he was even close to difficult... I think I two-shotted him? lol...) :9

I would dislike this if the remade game is dependent on pvp for like bonus stuff or something and if its not the only thing they made good.
I dislike those pvp modes because they are dead after a month and most games have benefits to doing pvp so u cant ever do that if u bought the game 1 month after release.

I still hate the fact that rookies with 5.0 rating growth rate on a certain stat, has a chance of getting 0 per level starting from lvl5 until 99 and a chance of getting just 1 from lvls 2-4 while 4.0 rating has better stat gain range and impossible to get 0 from 1-99.
It's absurd how my Patamon ended up having almost equal attack to my kumamon both without gear and untrained at lvl 31. Kumamon has 5.0 growth rate on attack and Patamon has 1.0.
Both are untrained because this was a digitamamon only run so I ignored the STR entirely.
This is why I started to hate Kumamon. Bro needs the most amount of exp to lvl up so TPs come slow too for when I get shit on by RNG on stats gain on my other playthroughs.
At least other digimons that have 5.0 growth rate on some stats, like Monmon, Veemon and Renamon are easier to raise even if they got extremely unlucky.
Hypothetically, if for example, Renamon who has 61 base Spirit, got cursed by the RNG god to have minimum gains at all levels, her spirit at lvl 99 will only be 64 without training.

So from these deductions, I assume that any Digivolution not taking part in a fight do not gain experience, and therefore there is no reason to use a rookie digimon after gaining a digivolution? Was hoping there was a better way of training evolutions in bulk rather than swapping them all.
