The simple addition of the "Contextual Help" button. should make this game of the year on its own. every game should adopt this. This needs to be industry standard shit right here. The whole game is great, BUT THAT BUTTON IS A GAME CHANGER! You look at a generator and wonder, "What does {energy weapon spec} actually do? is it just more dmg?" As a long-time vet since AC1 -- this review seems a phone-in and is missing key points of the series. You mention that this is not a Souls game but, all the tell-tell mechanics are indeed a Souls game. It was also noted that this was the release that longtime veterans were looking for -- but this initiative feels like FROM is trying to convert Souls fans into the AC series. A common review trend for this game is the mention that it's not a Souls game despite the fact that most reviewers haven't dived into the previous games. I feel like FROM paid reviewers to stick to a narrative in hopes that vets like myself will and did drop cash on this game expecting something else. For starters, this game controls now features a dodge button, energy packs, and a staggered system. Gone is the radar system for back and head models, fixed camera, and rechargeable generator when not engaged mid-flight. Now, players are given a handful of "classic missions" and a bigger focus on bosses that can and will kill you in 2 to 3 hits forcing players to retry missions countless times. There's a stupid weapon recharge/reload/overheat that slows down your offense, a Souls stagger system and controls that modulate between responsive and outright dead. Devs now force you to fight large and fast bosses that will suffer chip damage with the expected strategy change when down to 40% health. Most of the players clapping this move are Souls players. None of the previous installments have seen the marking hype this game has had and most of that speaks to FROM pumping this series with the same annoying mechanics found in other previous Souls games. You are no longer required to pull yourself up by your bootstraps to win. Instead, you have to remember idiotic patterns, use weapons that don't match your playstyle, and flat-out ignore overall parts stats in favor of using what deals the most damage. Yes, the Souls gameplay is popular but this was a series that didn't need this nonsense injected into it. The majority of new players have no experience with the previous installments that made this series a cult classic.

This would've been a perfect Game Pass game. I can't drop $70 on this if its punishing out the gate. I don't remember the past games I rented as a kid being super hard. I feared they would turn this into Dark Souls and no matter how much people claimed they haven't that's the vibe I'm getting (people stuck on the first boss). Shame cause I've been waiting for them to go back to this franchise, but gosh darn it I want a game that's tough, but fair not a masochist game like their current output. Hope this drops in price soon.
I lost to the first boss like 2/3 times until I realized why I was losing. The difficulty isn't like dark souls. It comes from having to understand what bosses are weak to and when it's best to attack. For example, I struggled on a boss and had to realize I needed weapons that shoot straightforward instead of all over the place to hit a more precise weak point. This is my first ac but coming to the realization that building your mech to fit the situation is really important just made me a fan.
You mean 60$ I think it's important to remind people that from software didn't raise their price to the industry standard. Yet delivered a game that is totally worth the 70$ on customization and gameplay alone. It's so good I've replayed the the destroy the AC mission 50x. Which it pays out each time making me rich just practicing with my new parts. To buy more parts. It's so good!
I forgot Dark Souls invented hard bosses.. that's literally the only similarity people can find so far. The game IS fair, as long as you learn how to tweak your own loadout and playstyle. It seems like when people ask for "fair" games, they just want the game to hold their hand and tell them how to beat everything these days lol
I almost feel like it’s a shame this is releasing just 1 week before Starfield. I’ll return to play it after Starfield releases, but I haven’t played starfield yet and for all I know that game may take all my attention from when it releases to the next few months. I have been itching for a good mech game though for a long time.
Different niches, besides there's enough time to beat AC6 at least once even for the more casual and skill checked players until Starfield, which will be a day 1 gamepass game anyways. I hope Bethesda doesn't botch the launch like they usually do
Damn, bro! As I've noticed, good mech games are just too few and far in between. And I wonder why is that? Do gamers don't like mechs or something? Or is it that it's too tall of a task for devs to make a good one? Like, MechWarrior is one that scratches the itch with slow and tactical, almost a duel like, combat with you as an unstoppable engine of destruction, and Armored Core 6 with its fast paced combat that's more on the agile side proving to your enemies that you have the best mech-fu around here.
Nerf bolteaus. Cant beat him and i own everything availbe from the shop. A rank that stupid wall mission easy. Cant beat bolteaus... i havent been thia discouraged since my ex wife threw out suikoden 2 new in packaging
Just in general going through all missions in coop + increased difficulty would be amazing, and the way game is designed around taking one mercenary job after another just suits multiplayer lobbies perfectly, imagine you setup a room for friends everybody logs in and you start a mission together, would be amazing with comms etc, they really have to implement this in future updates/dlc !!!!
Whenever i see troll fan boy reviewers saying git gud, i know the game sucks. I see the detailed reviews pros and cons and appreciate that, but those are few and far between.
Hey legacy gaming its not quite true that no one build can take you threw the whole game ive beaten the game twice with tank treads dual gatling dual shoulder grenade launcher build hehehe😊
I dont want to sound like a douche here, this game is probably great for people new to the series. But if you've played the others its the same ol song and dance with some updated graphics. Esthetic can only go so far, but i feel its a huge selling point these days...IE "its beautiful!"
Its a must play for AC fans. Which all the sudden there are a ton of. But this is not a must play for eveyone. The games good but people are really setting peoples expectations way too high for what it is.
Mechwarrior 5 a value game that retailed for 40 bucks or so brand new had much better environmental destruction. Armored core is a great game but they need to fix that.

It seems like when people ask for "fair" games, they just want the game to hold their hand and tell them how to beat everything these days lol
use the sword. every boss.
I almost feel like it’s a shame this is releasing just 1 week before Starfield. I’ll return to play it after Starfield releases, but I haven’t played starfield yet and for all I know that game may take all my attention from when it releases to the next few months. I have been itching for a good mech game though for a long time.
Starfield won't be as good as AC6
They aren’t comparable
I'm a Sony Pony for sure but I hope star field is what you guys want and more! I'm trying to fill a void until spiderman 2 releases🍻
Different niches, besides there's enough time to beat AC6 at least once even for the more casual and skill checked players until Starfield, which will be a day 1 gamepass game anyways. I hope Bethesda doesn't botch the launch like they usually do
Imagine being naive enough to think Starfield won't be absolute garbage.
4:16 isn’t Ace Combat an “AC” game?
Ace combat is a jet game
When the brutally hoenst review says its a must play you know
"Oh, it's hard, but it is the most accessible game of the series." yeah. Sure. Like Elden Ring.
Absolutely. Elden Ring was far more accessible to players than any previous souls game.
I want my Armored core to look like a gundam man. I wish they'd add some Gundam content one day.
There’s something so brutal about your brutality.
Just wish there was a co op mode for bosses lol
Just in general going through all missions in coop + increased difficulty would be amazing, and the way game is designed around taking one mercenary job after another just suits multiplayer lobbies perfectly, imagine you setup a room for friends everybody logs in and you start a mission together, would be amazing with comms etc, they really have to implement this in future updates/dlc !!!!
Sigh this game needs more hype and players
Sure does
Can't wait
Really wish you went over controls and how it plays on PC.
This is on PC and it plays buttery smooth.
@@LegacyGamingUS good to know, thanks! How does it play on m/kb or do you need a controller?
Plays perfectly fine on M&K. We did our entire review on M&K, then did a bit of messing around on Controller. Both feel fantastic
@@LegacyGamingUS really appreciate the reply! Helped me pick up the game! Excited to play with m/kb!
I literally waited until it got ready to play 9 hours prior.
Bro balteus was easy. 1-3 tries tops with any reverse leg build.
Brutally honest review?
0/10
No Zweihander
No Uchigatana
No Rivers of Blood
No Mask of the Father
No feet
Can I use Hotas with this game?
I wonder if Human Plus abilities will be a thing again.
Not to spoil but in the first few mins they call u an altered human, so I'm guessing u have it already
@@meddlingmage23 Having the ability to fly and fire a shoulder grenade cannon is what I hope is still a thing.
@@ZephrusPrime You can fire 4 weapons at once by default in this game. Just gotta buy yourself a shoulder mounted grenade rifle first.
@@ZephrusPrime same
Whenever i see troll fan boy reviewers saying git gud, i know the game sucks. I see the detailed reviews pros and cons and appreciate that, but those are few and far between.
[MUST BUY]
{I'd like to Thank the Developers for a Free copy of the Game}
- Any and all future review copies hanging in the process -
You go girl! 👍🏻
Yeah god forbid we thank them for providing a copy to review.
Hey legacy gaming its not quite true that no one build can take you threw the whole game ive beaten the game twice with tank treads dual gatling dual shoulder grenade launcher build hehehe😊
Can I make White Glint?
You actually can :)
It's not perfect but it is quite a great game.
There is just something about the landscapes that seem way to bland for my taste.
Mechwarrior 5 a value game that retailed for 40 bucks or so brand new had much better environmental destruction. Armored core is a great game but they need to fix that.
I feel bad for the release window they chose. BG3 and then Starfield.
It's only bad if the game sucks, all 3 of those games hit different niches
they did the same with ac5 and released it alongside Destiny😂
Sekiro: Mech edition
