Overhead dumbbell tricep extension has to be one of those exercises I can't wrap my head around people still doing. Unnecessarily putting the shoulder in an awkward angle when you can do this on a cable with better ROM and less risk. It works (obviously) but there are better options.
One of my least favorite exercises. People half rep the shit out of them too. Very little gain for a lot of shoulder and elbow risk if you’re going heavy..
@@Brose_Canseco Yeah, even the set up is risky. You are lifting a heavy ass dumbell up and backwards. Where as with the cable machine you are already starting in that flex position avoiding all that risk. Not to mention with the cable you can lean back and forth as needed to adjust for shoulder mobility. It's like cutting the lawn with a machete vs a mowing machine. Sure, both work, but why would you use the riskier, inferior version when technology has given you a better way of doing things?
@@kidbrown2010 amen brother. Also going single arm DB, with a more behind the head angle as far as straight back, I find is more manageable and you get a much better stretch. Still not the best position from the shoulder but if you don’t have cable access it’s a decent option

I personally prefer and love doing them on the cable system using a longer rope attachment. Did them today actually
Great physique. Good work
