@@miketerrence3839 in band when you audition for a position you play scales, for drummers you play rudiments in front of your director the better you are the higher chair you sit. For instance if the guy to the right of the white snare drummer challenges him and this year he's better they change seats, with that, if bands still do that if the black drummer calling the cadences in this clip is a senior and the section leader graduates and if the white drummer is still second chair he automatically becomes section leader if not challenged for his seat
