That was kinda the point - what happens when you try to follow what it's going for 😄
You know, the Atlantis episode could have easily been made the pilot episode. With a few tweeks, like making the ship's crew finding Godzooki's egg, which hatches, having them discover Atlantis and Godzilla, suspended in animation as the only other being of it's kind, created originally to protect Atlantis.

I mean, he has wing membranes under his arms to flying. If anything, he's looks more related to Varan than Godzilla.

My theory as to why Capt.Major's device can call Godzilla is this.
Their ship was, probably on an expedition; years ago. When one of those monsters (Kaiju, as the Japanese call them) suddenly begin to attack them.
Because the G-Man can sense when a rogue kaiju is attacking. He suddenly intervenes and saves the humans.
Naturally, Captain Majors and his family expect him to be a threat. But after defeating his foe, Godzilla makes his return beneath the sea.
Majors may have designed the device to emit a signal that only Godzilla could hear. But he needed to find the right one for it.
As I said, this is just a theory
+sadlobster1 It's as valid a theory as any. In fact, it reminds me of the first issue of IDW's Godzilla Legends comic, which is a great story, so...yeah, I support this idea.

The Second Opinion Actually, in the two Mechagodzilla movies that preceded this series, Godzilla would just magically appear in the city, having somehow made it inland before his foes without being seen. I have no clue how he did it there, either.

Omni Viewer Yet here we are without the video and for short answer is like how humans made the damn thing to call Godzilla in this show, where is Godzilla’s junk, it was never explain and like how these people got Godzilla’s trust. It never shows and gives an episode about it and should the Kids from Gamera exist for the reasons for this kid and Godzooky existing too
@@omniviewer2115 this might just be me, (i honsetly wouldent be the least bit surprised) but when it comes to Minilla i am of the same opinion as scrabby doo, instead of throwing at bunch of needless and often undeserved hate at him, fix what dident work about the character and improve upon him instead of turning him into something for everyone to just hate for No good reason...

As corny as this show is, it was my introduction to Godzilla. I haven't seen it in probably... 40 years. That sounds crazy to say. I was very little when it was on, but I remember watching it and loving it.

And they were in a plane with a scientist, body guard, young blond ward (son/nephew), and token minority. I'm a HB fan, but now I'm starting to think they copied their same formulas for everything....

5:14 I love this part, it's one that I always go back and watch.
I remember when Godzilla King of the Monsters came out awhile ago some of those negative critics actually believed that it was a live action version of the Hanna-Barbera cartoon and some questioned where Godzookie was but then again I could be wrong because I only have read the article, scoffed and said nope! Godzilla King of the Monsters was a masterpiece! Best movie for 2019, made reverences to the classic Toho films that we all know and love and zero connection with the HB cartoon and as Sherk would say "End of story! Bye-bye see you later!"
Hmm, you do have points. I never got into that show, though I watched a couple episodes on Boomerang when I was a kid. However, I'd say I grew more on 'Zilla Jr.' of the Godzilla the Animated Series. I do consider the 1998 movie a guilty pleasure. The show's campy too, but that's mostly because of the cheesy dialogue. The monster fights were excellent and Zilla Jr. honestly earned his right as a kaiju.
+Evowizard25 I have quite a bit to say about that show, too, but it shall wait for another day. Otherwise, I do agree about Zilla. In fact, he's quite the formidable force in Godzilla: Rulers of Earth.

If I recall correctly; in the episode, Godzilla was helping both the crew of the Calico AND the German sailors on the ship.
But it's been years since I've seen it. So, I could be wrong.

"Against a fire breather" Well that could be true, but Godzilla has a radioactive blue heat beam, even though Godzilla is literally described as a fire breather, especially since he's Gigantis the fire monster!

I always thought Godzuki was Godzilla’s nephew. Don’t know where I got that from.
I really like Godzilla's design in this cartoon, and even like the roars given to him by Ted Cassidy. The monsters he fought in every episode were also quite inventive and memorable. From Axor, to the cyclops, to the Earth Eater, the Golden Guardians, the magnetic Terror and so on. The basic premise of the series and the inability of the monsters to actually *fight* is where it all fell apart.
This cartoon could've been helped by taking some pointers from the Marvel comic book running at the same time. Dr. Darian and company could've been the kaiju research branch of a military operation tracking Godzilla's movements and looking for a way to definitively destroy him. All the while coming across these other kaiju and watching helplessly as Godzilla and the monster of the week fight to the death....But that would mean having BS&P shut their fuckin' holes and sit in the corner. And God forbid that ever happen.

Hey Omni, enjoy your work here on the tubes. I was wondering if there was any intention of giving a similar treatment to Godzilla the Series? I know it's the cartoon following the 1998 disaster but the cartoon gave it atomic breath and it was more durable than the movie counter part.
I'm actually re-watching that show as we speak for just that purpose. It will happen one day.

Your friend sounds like Patrick Warburton, he could do amazing Kronk and Joe Swanson impresions. Did this really last 40 minutes? It felt way shorter and the selection of episodes is perfect. There is also a magnetic turtle that seems hilarious for Gamera.
It was a good cartoon, it was all we had back then.

Supposedly this specific animated series is a sequel to a specific group of movies.
I forget the specific live action movie though, sorry. I don't have any sources for it.
+Nathan Fleming That would be the Showa series comprised of the first 15 films made between 1954 (the original Gojira) and 1975 (Terror of Mechagodzilla), plus any other Kaiju films of that era which eventually crossed over (Rodan, Mothra, Varan the Unbelievable, et al). And if you take into account the idea that the Hana-Barbera cartoons also coexist with each other, plus the fact that Frankenstein Conquers the World is a sequel to the Universal Horror franchise, then we are left with the strangest shared universe in history.

Here are my ideas for Toho Monsters that could have filled the roles of some of the original monsters in this show
Firebird-Rodan for obvious reasons
Eartheater- Baragon due to similar appearance and burrowing abilities
Megavolt Monsters- Titanosaurus due to a somewhat similar appearance, aquatic nature and it would have been a cool reference to how there was going to be two Titanosaurus'
Colossus- Moguera due to how he was the only Toho Robot at the time that somewhat matched the appearance of Colossus
Great Watchuka- Ideally I'd say King Kong, but as that'd be incredibly difficult either Gaira based on appearance or King Caesar due to also being a guardian monster
Time Dragon- Gorosaurus for obvious reasons
Giant Octopus- Toho's Giant Octopus
Power Dragon- King Ghidorah. The Power Dragon just needs to be yellow/gold and two more heads
Giant Black Widow- Kumonga for obvious reasons

i think my favorite episodes were the fights with king cobra (giant anthropormorphi snake monster with divine power) the yetti king, the collossus army, the island of giant insects, the one where they go back to prehistoric erra, and the eye of the storm

When ever I think of Hannah Barbara Godzilla, I always think of the roars of the Eren Yeager Japanese and American roars. THINK ABOUT IT! HE SOUNDS EXACTLY LIKE EREN IN HIS TITAN FORM!
In my opinion,I think Hannah Barbara decided to use Superman's powers for Godzilla,other than the steel power,and freeze breath.But because Zook can fly,My guess is that Godzilla can't fly because he(for some reason)can't fly because he's a late bloomer on his wings.

The legacy of the Hanna Barbera Godzilla show would be enhanced greatly if it had been allowed to use the Ifukube themes, Godzilla's vintage roar........and if there was no Godzooky.

Personally, I think this series is okay. Then again, I've only seen a few episodes. This is one of those shows that had cool ideas, but they didn't reach their full potential, which is one of the reasons why I thought about making my own version of this series. Basically, think of it as what I would've done if I made changes to the series.
for the past two, three years now I have been thinking that I would love to see a live-action version of this TV series I've made into a live-action TV series where the plot actually makes sense or even to a live action movie. of course I preferred the movie Marvin origin story or became some of its own but definitely have an origin to it.
I love this TV series as a kid and even after all this time now that I'm 24 I still enjoyed although now I notice all the nonsensical nonsense it happens in I just laugh at myself and think they've got how do I find so entertaining as child but then I remember well it's the only cartoon the time that had Godzilla in it not a rip-off actually got to himself and they gave him a new super power laser beam eyes which is really cool. this is a great TV show for little kids I introduced to my younger brother and sister I believe sometime early last year or back in 2015 or 16 I'm not exactly sure anymore... the point is when I show them this show they loved it and I still love it to this very day and I would love to see this cartoon get a reboot and forgot to look to get a decent Roar I mean all the are monsters have decent Roar than their own sounds with Godzilla... let me check that I would like it cuz of what sound like as all but the fact that lurched played him is honestly still quite interesting in quite fun I know my girlfriend was fine. Very interesting and entertaining and honestly I never knew that for myself until you guys talked about it. and in all honesty Lurch was my favorite character in The Addams Family... 4 reasons I am honestly not sure if and no this is not to kiss up this is honesty I honestly don't know why he was my favorite character but he just was.... ok.
