what i loved about Yoton Yo was how deliciously meta the story of Alan Wake is getting. Like parallelling one of the inspirations, Steven King's works, and how he loves inserting his literal self into some of his stories; having Sam Lake reprising the face of the cold, gritty detective, but then also playing the actor Sam Lake in the game, but is also the writer Sam Lake of the game, but is also the actor in the short film Yoton Yo which retells the first game story but he's playing the "Alan Wake" character... Man it blew my mind and i was grinning like mad.
Sam Lake is totally right about the movie being optional being more of a treasure. If the game forced me to watch I would’ve had a much different attitude skewing towards annoyance or boredom. But because it was a choice I got to make it felt way more appealing to watch.
can't wait sam lake making live action lord and ladies series after max payne remake. address unknown was already the same plot use on alan wake 1 and 2
