Lmfao good one man
Mazda ranks above Toyota in terms of reliability now.
I never drove a Toyota but Mazda is one of the most reliable cars. I use 2014 Mazda 3 and I never went to the dealership except for yearly check-ups. Never a problem. If Toyota is better than I applaud them for it.
GSOaviator Stop lying to people
Kunter Kurtulan My dad drives a 2009 Toyota Corolla it’s at 324,000 miles right now he never had to repair something about the car all he did was his maintenance checks and it still runs good
Mazda has really made a come up since they left Ford!
Kudos Mazda, for not using CVT!!
@@joetan8198 Not everyone is a fan of CVT. CVT is standard on Corolla and Toyota's is the most reliable, but they've had to recall 2019 for an issue with the CVT
@@davinp yes, I more like Mazda TRANSMISSION than T & h cvt
I bought a 2014 Mazda 6 (in part because they have a normal transmission). Six years and 96,000 miles later I've been very happy with it. Not a single hiccup and I'me averaging 30.3 mpg.
@@davinp Depends tho, the hybrids have e-CVT which is much more reliable as the standard CVT.
Lol Mazda tried to make a good interior? Wtf dude this interior is just as good if not better than the Germans which in a much higher priced car might I add
Yea lol. Mazda 3 brings the luxurious, classy aesthetic... Honda & Toyota to me is that normie car all ages would have from teens, mid adults, elderly... but Mazda 3 is that car for that professionalism I think or maturity.
Exactly my thought while watching this @Aidan
Corolla?... my vote to mazda especially the hatchback.
Yeah. Especially when he did not show/see the Mazda. He basically compares 2 vehicles, Toyota and Honda having 3 cars in the title. That is not a review with justice. Too much bs...
@@biczannn they must be high on something. Or trying to sell you a car.
I’m honestly okay with my corrolla. Not just because it’s boring but I can wake up everyday and commute without having to be too worried about it. Ease of mind.
I don’t think those model Corollas are boring at all the new Corollas really look nice and aggressive and so many aftermarket parts if your Corolla is boring it’s your fault Iol

Agree, he dosnt know what he's talking about.
Yup agree
Obviously, this so-called "review" was a paid advert by *****a.
After 4 months of ownership of the 2019 Mazda3 hatch manual, I have to say,
Corolla hatch > Mazda3 > Civic
Just bought the mazda 3 with the select package and its by far the best. Toyota looks cheap inside, honda juvenile, but mazda 3 especially the sedan. Its well equipped and looks respectful.
This is a nice commercial for the Toyota Corolla
Or maybe the Corolla is actually better.
Or maybe he prioritizes two aspects of the Corolla over everything else
If he can be wrong then so can I. Jaguars are the most reliable cars in the world and there’s nothing you can do to change my mind.
Jokes on you, it’s a commercial for the all new Honda Passport
Maintenance for the toyota 230€,for the mazda 91€, oil and 2 filters. 12 month old both
That's a silly way to pick a winner. You could have said your best value choice was the Toyota, but if $2k more isn't a problem the Mazda is the better car.
Well i mean, it is a new car... 2k is not that big difference ...
Here in Italy the mazda is cheaper than the corolla. 😅
@@TonyManfron Sadly in Greece Mazda's are expensive due to taxes :/
If you want manual then the difference is more like $5k or more, which is a big deal.
@@carbrickscity manuals are preferred by enthusiast market and Most will be willing to pay extra for significant features /performance
So, the Mazda is the best in the Class but since the Corolla is $2K cheaper then it is the winner... nonsense

@2WIREG 50
@2WIREG exactly what I was thinking. It's not a big difference at all
The Mazda is better in literally almost every aspect of the vehicle and you’re getting next class up quality for just 2K more like it should be obvious the Mazda is better
$2k cheaper and it'll be cheaper in maintence and parts ? Such an obvious choice.
I'm a big fan of the Corolla but, on this one, the Mazda is just next level! 😍
Reliability.....
@@sothickitssickk Nope! Do your homework before you put your foot in your mouth next time.
mazda really stepped it up this gen, but it also reflects in their pricing unfortunately
@@55afishead Lol triggered? The corolla is more reliable, period.
@@aujla7564 Hahaha.
I tested all 3 cars. After 14 years with my old Corolla I went with the Mazda. The Toyota’s transmission was the deal killer I’m not a fan of cvt transmissions, it feels like it’s always trying to catch-up to the engine. And the Mazda was light years ahead with the interior. And yes I’m an OG and very happy to have a lot of features you can only get in higher priced cars.
CVT’s are complete garbage, my Mitsubishi Lancer had a CVT. I sold it and got a 2019 Mazda 3 and its so much better. I’m impressed with the performance and no more CVT!

This is easily the most bias review I’ve seen of the 3 cars.
1) Hardly mentions the Mazda and hardly shows it.
2) he claimed the Mazda is way more expensive yet it’s only 2k more for a whole lot more car
3) doesn’t even bring up the changes the Mazda has been doing each year on the Mazda 3...
Cameron I agree with you that he seemed to kinda ignore the Mazda, but 2k does make a huge difference. It was actually the reason I ended up getting a civic instead of a Corolla or a mazda
@@GH05TLYR4NG3R if your buying a new car and your worried about 2k you have no buisness buying a new car
Or that the Mazda comes with an AWD option. And its like 2k more than the base model which for people like me who live up north is 100% worth it for the winter
the only thing i noticed within the first 2 mins...
Yeah, this is definitely a Toyota commercial.
Was this a comparison video of the three cars or a review of the Toyota Corolla? I'm confused 🤷🏾♂️
It was definitely for the Toyota Corolla
That Mazda3 is gorgeous!!!
MAZDA NR. 1 😍😍😍😘SORY TOYOTA HONDA 🤗 SAYONARA 👍GERMANY STUTTGART 💪
The Mazda3 is not only gorgeous but it drives like no other compact car.......
My choice is the Mazda. Honestly I have never seen an ugly Mazda and they are extremely reliable.
In my country Toyota cars are extremely expensive to upkeep and insure (people tend to steal them a bunch).
Same goes for the Honda.
Something else I really like about the Mazda is that it feels a lot more "Premium" than what you actually pay for.
It’s the Mazda3 for me. The Corolla certainly has made significant improvements but the interior of the new Mazda3 totally wins me over. It just oozes class. The Corolla interior already looks dated compared to the Mazda3.
FACTS! CLASS! European car aesthetic! Like that of a Lexus or Mercedez
My wife has a '18 Mazda 3. Waaaay lotta car for the $!! We call it the Mazdaratti....💟
😂😂😂
Got mine for $24k OTD. Fully loaded with manual transmission, if seats are bit more comfy and less road noise, it be perfect ... But with same features on a Civic hatchback, no way I would get a Civic touring under $27k , plus they have no manual above sport trim

Mazdaratti, haha, I'm going to start saying that
If I were spending my money on one of those three, it would be the Mazda 3.
I don’t agree. I would pay 2K more to get Mazda 3 and it is worth it
Just got got 2021 Corolla SE 6MT (yay Android auto) and though the Mazda3 is a level higher finish wise, the closest price I could find within 500 miles was 5K more, and thats for 2020 models. Most were 7K more for manual transmission.
@Richard Favreau lol you asked me that (and answered) in another post )
@@whyno713 that’s crazy, here in Australia, a car with manual transmission is always cheaper by around 2k. The sad thing is that a lot of dealers don’t keep manual cars and they deter customers from purchasing them, saying that they don’t sell or that they need to order them and they don’t have any in the country. Heard both of these claims from Kia and Hyundai recently. By sticking with manual transmission, I have saved myself the stress of dealing with failing cvt gearboxes .
Topic is about three cars, talks about two, and doesn’t show the third.
its because the Mazda obviously puts those to shame because its almost a different class of vehicle

I test drove them and the golf. I bought the Mazda 3. The interior and 2.5 litre put it on top for me. The manual is really smooth too. The civic handled a bit better but I couldn’t get past the styling. It’s something a teenager would like, not a 40 yr old. The Mazda just seemed more grown up for my taste. All three were good drives overall.
Nice, if I was in the market for these cars mine would be Corolla the Mazda kinda has a feeling of a cramped interior to me and the Civic was sporty but the interior was kind of a let down to me. Cheera
Agreed. I was shopping for a replacement for my Golf Wagon when Honda released the hatchback Civic. I liked how it drove for the most part and couldn't get over how gaudily styled it was. Went with Mazda but actually ended up getting a CX-5 in the end for the extra space.
Luke Rinderknecht good choice. Our main vehicle is the Cx-5.
@@carenthusiast4984 I like it so much that I bought a used MX-5 as the perfect complement for it!
Luke Rinderknecht Sweet! My plan is to buy myself the MX-5 when I retire!! Still a while though.
No comparison. The Mazda is 5 times better than the other two. Well worth a couple grand more.
Mike H agree
Not from a base model perspective. I’d like to see a price comparison of their respective top models.
The big question is can those skyactive engines last more than 400k miles? I haven't seen one that hit that milestone yet but i've already seen the toyotas and hondas hit that mark. Scotty Kilmer says those skyactive engines won't last as long as the toyota's and hondas and i need some proof that those engines can at least last 400k miles since i drive a lot and need to plan to keep the car for 10-15 years
@@edurado1996 Mazda's basic 3 is no longer a bare bones model, it is more expensive because it is much better equipped. I believe no version of the 3 has a plastic steering wheel, all have LED lights, and a few extras (like no base model with plastic covers on the wheels).

Doesn’t the civic technically have a hybrid in the “insight”?
Yes.
Edit: not technically, but the Insight is essentially a Civic hybrid. The uploader should've at least mentioned it.
Yes but Honda doesn’t market it as a Civic Hybrid even though it is the same car with changed styling.
No. The insight is literally labeled as a different car with a different body and a better interior
@@CRS085 It may not incorporate the "Civic" name, but it's very similar aesthetically. Also, you could argue that the top trim of the Civic (Touring) has a better interior than lower trims. Essentially, the OP is right. I just don't think that he meant to use "technically."
googlewolly hey thanks for correcting me. Yeah I was just trying to get that point across that the insight is a civic hybrid!
The Mazda is the premium car here, a bit bias i think trying to push the Corolla, I would pay more to get the better car, Mazda 1st, Honda a distant 2nd and Corolla 3rd.
Well done, informative review. Thank you!
Civic has reliability and sportiveness all around the best package
But if you get the turbo for the sportiness then that engine will have oil dilution making the engine unreliable after a few years
runin' thruthe6 there is very little signs of that here in the uk, it’s a lot smaller scale than the internet would have you believe. Just change your oil often, which is good practice anyway.
I smell a Mazda hater 😒
Barely any mention of the changes Mazda has made over the years to make it feel like a far more expensive car than it is the value is there folks.. corolla and civics are just so common 🙄🙄

I would say, Mazda 3- Corolla -Civic. But hell... all of them are pretty good nowadays!! Nice review Nathan.
The Civic has a 15.1 cubic foot trunk, which is way bigger than the Corolla. The base CVT Civic is rated at 30 city, 38 MPG highway, exactly the same as the base CVT Corolla.

Have owned and driven a 2015 Mazda 6 for over 4 years now and it is by far the smoothest, most enjoyable and reliable vehicle that I’ve grown to appreciate so much. I’d definitely buy it all over again.
Previously some of the Honda Safety Sense features were not standard on lower trims. One feature it had that the Corolla did not have is Blindspot. Blindspot mirror is optional on the Corolla, not standard
The Mazda is the most premium, and the best to drive daily.
I see many saying they chose Mazda but on the streets I see tons of Corollas and Civics and hardly ever see a Mazda
They're cheaper and IMO, most buyers in this class watch the costs and gas mileage very closely. Any car with a cvt will not last long enough to pass down to anyone. CVT transmissions typically fail around 100.000 miles. At that point, replacement cost is more than the car is worth. A cvt replacement is about 40 to 50 % higher than regular automatics, and most automatics will last around 200.000 miles, with a couple fluid changes. Cvts are the killers of 6 7 8 year old cars. They are ticking time bombs which literally MURDER the vehicle when they fail.

Mazda trying to compete with bmw now. I don’t know if they are entry level anymore
I love Mazda, but they'll never be on BMW's level. They aren't entry-level anymore, but they're like a Japanese Buick so to say. They're notched in between Toyota and Lexus, I'd say.
I would agree with that. But they definetly are not entry level anymore, they are creeping up in price every year.
Golden God Lol Mazda is better than Buick! 😂 Buick is a good car but very boring compared to Chevy or the former Pontiac i’m sorry Buick should have been axed instead of Pontiac, I would say Mazda is the Japanese Pontiac, where Honda is the Japanese Chevy or Ford, Toyota is the Japanese Ford or GMC, Nissan is the Japanese Chevy or GMC, and Mitsubishi is the Japanese Dodge or Chrysler, and Subaru is the Japanese Jeep or Japanese Land Rover, and with all that being said Mazda will put Buick to shame! 🤣 I’m sorry Chevy and Cadillac is my only two favorite Gm brands for newer cars and trucks, where Mazda, Nissan, and Honda are my favorite Japanese brands for newer cars and trucks, not saying I dislike Toyota but compared to Honda it’s basically a Buick met BMW! 😂 So however I own a Mini Cooper S Convertible I love it, it reminds me of a car that similar car manufacturers tried to make but couldn’t pull it off especially the Fiat 500, god awful since they own all the Chrysler brands! 🤢🤮
Golden God Mazda is way above bmw level now days is making way nicer cars then bmw now and the new sky active technology is something new that bmw never thought of and the new Mazda is more reliable then bmw I work on a lot of bmw compared to Mazda at work lol
The Wrench master I agree I think Mazda is going to be a cross between Honda and Nissan with Cadillac and BMW stuffed inside of it! 😁 I am a Chevy Sonic owner I was bummed when I heard how expensive Mazda 3 cost, I still like Mazda totally cool car, probably my favorite Japanese car besides Honda and Nissan! 😁 So yeah BMW and Mini need to go back and make there cars last longer that’s ridiculous when a 2010 Mini Cooper S Convertible burns oil at 91,000 miles and hasn’t even reach 100,000 miles at all, so therefore I’m sorry BMW and Mercedes both need to take lessons from Mazda, Honda, Toyota, and Nissan, I mean Subaru is another expensive Japanese car as well, but Mitsubishi I wouldn’t give you 5 cents for, I had 2 people I know complain how horrible it was until they got rid of it? 🧐 I mean Kia and Hyundai can’t even hold a candle to a Honda or Mazda less off a Toyota or Nissan! 🤣

Honda civic is the easy choice. It has the best performance by a mile with the 1.5L turbo, Honda sensing is better than Toyota's and Mazdas safety features, Honda has proven reliability, and material quality may not be as good as Mazda, but class competitive. Having Android Auto and Apple Car play put the civics infotainment ahead of the Toyota's right away. I don't really like the look of the Civic Hatchback. The Type R is the only exception. Sedan and Coupe look good. The Corolla Hatchback looks real good and if I went Corolla, would have to be a Hatchback. The Mazda 3 has the best interior, but outside of that, is behind both Toyota and Honda in just about every other aspect. The 2.5L in the Mazda is a dog of an engine and should be thrown out and burned. Very little power and behind all competition. But this is just my personal observations and experiences with each car. Clear choice would be a Civic Si if keeping budget a priority, but Type R would be best choice.
A Kia Stinger GT is more price-matched with a Type R. The Type R is an amazing car, but it competes in a different segment entirely.
Florida Maddogg you need to review your facts before commenting shit, mazda 2.5l N/A is more powerful than the civic turbo. Only thing civic his over the mazda 3 is a few more cubic feet of space nothing else
The 2019 KIA Forte also competes in this space and the highest IIHS safety/crash test ratings in the class. I’m considering a car for my teen and safety is high in my priorities. The Toyota does offer a lot of safety gear compared to Honda and Mazda. The Toyota is leatherette...Mazda is real leather seats.
Seems like there's still some tweaking to do at the drawing board for each one.
can someboady explain to me why the 2,0 169hp of the corolla has almost the same mpg as the 2.5 203hp of the camry
Mazda 3 all day, wait till the skyactive x engine comes by. Then it's a no brainer
The Civic comes standard with a sunroof as long as you get EX and up trim, you Americans. For us Canadians, Civic Sport is actually based on the EX trim, so this one does have a sunroof. #CanadiansHaveBetterOffers
Tony Ren that makes no sense
Where does the elantra gt n line fit?
Mazda has very light steering wheel and damn good acceleration , so even long drive does not make me tired. Negative point is low mpg in city driving conditions.
The least cost to own is of course the Corolla. The most efficient in terms of gas consumption is of course the Corolla. The most reliable car is again the Corolla. If after 5 years of financing the Corolla, you can enjoy another 20 years of driving this car without paying any car loan. For me, the Corolla is the best.
Very well summarized. Now which model of Corolla would you choose?
Right Lane Hog, XSE hatch with manual.
@Sergio Aguirre Civics are being restored coz they don't last as long as Corollas.
@Sergio Aguirre where the hell are they restoring civics?🤭
@Sergio Aguirre My car doesnt define me.
mazda is such an underrated automaker. the toyota and honda are just snoozefests. also now available with awd!
AWD doesn't make a difference if there's no snow. Speaking of the Mazda 3
Right the others just don’t look good at all, they look cheap and have a messy design
That’s another benefit of sedans over SUVs... sedans have a unique look... you can easily distinguish a Camry from an Accord etc, but I’ve noticed that SUVs from different manufacturers are looking more alike... the only differences being headlights and tail-lights
There is a hybrid Civic, it just has an Insight badge on it.
