Jonny is hands down one of the best vocalists I've ever heard. As DGD is my favorite band, there is nothing about the "Jonny era" of the band that I dislike. I've followed Jonny through Emarosa and Slaves as well... I hope he's doing great and I'd love to see him out in the scene again absolutely crushing it!

Let’s support him to maintain his sobriety over all of it. The scene is not a stable environment for someone with such an addiction issue that Jonny has dealt with. The man deserves some peace.

@@JamesEatWorld7758you know as a year sober addict from fentanyl smoking you hit a point where you do it for yourself and because you see the light. I can have a pocket full of those blue devils and I'd not even think about using. I think people who say it's been hard even 10 years in I believe aren't able to have that epiphany, they had outside reasons to get clean and were forced by circumstances.

Imagine if Jonny Craig got together with the DGD boys and made Downtown Battle Mountain III
or just called it something else with jonny as lead cleans.

I've battled addiction for 7 years now, same drugs as Jonny. Pain pills, then graduated to H..
I was on suboxone as well, and it ruined me.

@chadtv3435 well, I managed to stay off of suboxone for over 100 days now, but unfortunately, I've gotten my body addicted to other things now.
I had to go back to work, about 60 days in, and I still felt awful.
Lethargic, weak, and just sluggish. I'm currently doing quite a bit of coke and kratom to get me through a work day.
If I don't have either, I just can't function. I'm positive opiods ruined me permanently.
My girl is pregnant, and I'm supporting us. Neither of us have any family.
I'm going to try and pay rent 2 months in advance and go back to rehab.
Also, I need to be patient about getting back to work.. I rushed it back in July when I started back working again.
      I should have waited longer.

Addiction is a traumatizing experience, could be smoking or drinking, pills or harder drugs, porn or even caffeine. Whatever dependency it is, it invokes trauma upon that person. Unless you've gone through that experience, it's really hard to understand the feelings that the person goes through, from the beginning, rock bottom, and to hopefully the recovery and sobriety. I hope Jonny can continue on this clean path and keep blessing us with his heavenly talent. One thing that helped me end my addictions was knowing that I had the option to. You have the option to get high, but you don't have to. You can make that choice to let it go. So many friends that couldn't relate, can make you feel lonely. Let it motivate you. Great episode, on the bus, very warm and awesome questions

I recently got into Psilocybin (structurally very similar to DMT) and it’s definitely changed me. I was on Suboxone/Gabapentin for 8 years, and I’m currently in the process of getting off both drugs. Doesn’t matter how long it takes. I’m hurting all day every day, but I’m still looking toward the future when it’s out of my system and I feel better. Down to 300mg of the 3000 I was on of Gabapentin, two months out from my last Sublocade injection to get off Suboxone. Send me well wishes if you can, it’s hard but I want to feel normal again more than anything. Haven’t relapsed in 8 years, don’t plan on it now.
Im very happy for anyone who can find their way out of this bullshit, opioids steal your soul, make life not worth living. It’s very difficult to understand just how bad it is, and there’s nothing I can say to convince anyone. All I can say is - if you’ve never taken opioids, don’t ever start. It’s not worth it, never worth it. Get a steroid injection and some ibuprofen, you may save your life in the long run. If I make it out of this my life will certainly be dedicated to helping other addicts trying to find their way out.
Psychedelic therapy could be the future of addiction recovery.

Watching him lately, he seems that he is truly trying to stay clean. His head seems much clearer and he is taking accountability for himself. I really do wish the best for him. He has a lot of talent and seems like a decent guy while not on drugs that is just dealing with a lot of pain.

I always used to think what most of the uneducated public think… ‘just give up the drugs’ ‘just stop it’ but since I educated myself talking first hand to homeless people living addiction and realise this whole thing is a disease… getting your score becomes more important than family or even food… I’ve stopped smoking after sixteen years and I’m 4 months in and I know that it is nothing compared to opiate addiction but getting the craving and having to fight the old habits everyday has made me totally realise how hard it is! Recovery isn’t just stopping the drugs, it’s working hard every single day… and reminding yourself how good you feel and how much better your body feels…

I remember hearing Ghost Runner on Third and knew this vocalist was going places, then heard DGD, then Emarosa, then his solo stuff to Slaves last tour even gotten CDs signed, posters, lyric sheets, tickets, he even signed as CD for my new born son. He was drinking but wasn't fkd up his ex was though! My wife went in the bathroom and his ex and 2 other girls were doing blasts in the bathroom. And kept on asking me and my wife if we knew where JC was which he was at the bar chilling with us and the bassist. I've met him a bunch through the years and had the same struggles as him and now have 10 years clean.

Hey man! Thanks for this interview there is lots of love for JC! The Intro is really long... esp for the wheels on the bus song. Just helping. Also in the description add who you are or about you. Like you say you know these things about who and what he's talking about but who are you. Just a couple things could help your channel.

This is awesome! I remember in early 2021 (I think) I watched a livestream of his and he was just cocky af and kind of a jerk. Kinda acting odd. I had a feeling he was still struggling. But this Jonny is really awesome!! I’m happy he is doing well right now and I pray he continues to go down this path. JC has an unbelievable, incredible talent that leaves me speechless. I hope he strives and has a successful *healthy* career. But ugh, I miss Slaves so much. 💔
Also, Jonny is the only guy I like with a stache. 😂😂😍

Smart Recovery is also good for people who don't want a faith-based program.
AA and NA have steps that involve a higher power. Doesn't necessarily have to be God, but it can turn people off.
Smart Recovery is supposed to be grounded in science.
Disclaimer: I have personally never used the program, but I know people who have.

Spinal/nerve damage took my ability to walk for the foreseeable future, and I’m being put on oxy to combat extreme pain before I can start pt. I’m fucking scared tbh. I beat a Xanax addiction 7 years ago, I’m still addicted to cigs, I’m just not familiar with this drug or its power, I’ve only heard stories. All bad endings. Been listening to Jonny since I was 13, that was a long time ago now, saw his whole life unfold multiple times from drugs. I just need to keep my shit together and use the lessons in everything I’ve seen. I’m phobic to needles but have taken everything the docs will give me to help bring my body back to normal and asked for at-home exercises, there’s nothing for nerve damage but time, pt or surgery. I just want to walk again. At least I’ve got music.

Chasing the high isnt cliche. It happens with everything. Your brain is wired for linearity. It finds food somewhere and it subconsciously remembers where it got food from. Thats what keeps people coming back. But our brains are plastic so we can always change ourselves by creating new habits.
