Christmas Market or Grand Market in Jamaica 2022
Even without ice and snow, you can still feel the spirit of Jamaican Christmas.
Early Christmas morning, children, dressed in their best or new clothing, take their parents by the hand and accompany them to the spectacular Grand Market (often called Gran' Market) as it is considered the holiday's highlight. Gran Market is held in the major towns all over Jamaica, but Kingston has the most outstanding festival. This festive atmosphere makes winter one of the best times to visit Jamaica. May Pen Mayor Winston Maragh said the authorities will remain vigilant as they try to keep Main Street clear for shoppers this Christmas.
According to Maragh, the ground of the old police station is almost empty as vendors breach the rules daily.
“Over there is half empty right now. Vendors still want to stay on Main Street, and when police go out there right now, they take out phone videoing behaving like they are lawyers,” he said.
Acknowledging that traffic will increase on Christmas Eve for the Grand Market shopping frenzy, he said he will be monitoring the roadways to ensure they are free of congestion.

Yes may pen from 6am or earlier we roll with some sweet oranges stangarenes plantains all kind a things to sell big up the sellers some of us now in England, Canada, US all them kingston ,Spanish Town sellers the foreigners come down from foreigner with new and second hand clothes to sell vans park with the latest styles from foreign vendors walking and selling some of us 11pm christmas eve the guys from kingston who come sell clothes and other things and dont believe the second hand foreign things no sell like hot bread Jamaicans love foreign things andno care how u poor u will get a pair a second hand shoes from foreign and clothes for u self u man and children a lot in good conditions for those who cant afford name brands thank GOD for these sellers the kingston guys those days were nice 10 pm they buys wines beers and ask us what we want to drink we all a jogglers ,sellers market busy we going home 12am in christmas morning from clock to guinep tree block off sound systems blazings with the latest song young people children schoolers all age on the road till sun come up christmas day that time no nastiness not playing road nice now me in a ice box cold a kill me coming home in night from work christmas eve night me cold nose a run eye a run water no i am not sick but its the breeze snow a come down wind shield a say you should a dey a you yard yes Jamaica we miss u
