I love the blanket its so beauitful
I just finished making this Bonnie. Did not use pip squeak as much as I love the look of it. I have a ton of pound of love in antique white so used that. I loved your trim around it. Thank you for sharing. See you on your next live. xx
I'm glad I came across your video because I as looking for a good border to crochet on my basketweave washcloth and I used your idea that turned out just beautiful. Thank you.
Beautiful blanket. I am going to start this as soon as I can. My 1st grandchild is due to arrive in Feb.
Congratulations Ann! That is so wonderful!
I’m a pretty new beginner. Started crocheting about a month ago and I was able to make this no problem! Used the same type of yarn and it came out beautiful! I did mark every 8th chain stitch in the first step with stitch markers because I didn’t want to miss one and it worked out great for me. After that step it was a breeze.
Andrea Rosa thank you! So glad you were able to complete this!😊❤️
Thank you! I just finished one of these with Himalayan Dolphin baby yarn. Cannot seem to include a photo, though. Your instructions are quite clear.
You can always send photos to me at bonniebay@me.com. I love posting the work of others on my social media Melba!
Bonnie, this blanket is like eye candy. It is absolutely beautiful. I always dislike my first row, it always takes longer than the rest of the project and is somewhat difficult compared to the rest of it. Thanks for this beautiful tutorial. I truly enjoy your teaching method. 🥰🧶🐐🦙🐫🐑🧶🥰
Yes, exactly Theresa! I do believe that if you feel your way through the first row then you are home free as I tried to explain in the video. I would NEVER make an entire project with this yarn where you were dependent on finding the top loops of each stitch. That would be torture even to me! Ha ha! Front and back post stitches are so very easy with this and other similar yarns (Lion Brand's Homespun comes to mind).
@@BonnieBayCrochet mikey
I have worked with fun fur so I know what this is like feeling the stitches
Yes, if you don't mind feeling your way, there yarn is very much worth it!
thanks for this free pattern. I used a different yarn and made it larger - James C. Brett Flutterby chunky yarn to be specific and it turned out lovely. I haven't crocheted in about 7 years but this was super easy to get started again and follow along :)
Welcome back to the world of crochet! There is so much more out there now!
ME TOO, I LOVE THE COLORS AND THE YARN I NEVER USE BEFORE. YOU CHOSE THE PERFECT STITCH FOR THIS TYPE OF YARN
THANK YOU AGAIN SISTER BONNIE❤
Thank you Lynn!
I think the basket weave is so cute for a baby blanket. I’ve used 4 weight in the past. It’s weird from far away I can see the stitch definition, but up close it’s more difficult. Looks so squishy and drapes nicely. Thanks for sharing.
Such a pretty blanket
Hi Bonnie
I finished this beautiful blanket. Thank you so much.
I love having a new pattern for this beautiful yarn. Also love the colors.
Yes, I believe the basket weave stitch makes this yarn so much easier to use once you get past the first row of working in the chain.
Absolutely love the pattern & colors.💜💜💜💜💛💛💛💛🧡🧡🧡🧡
Bonnie, that is such a beautiful blanket. I love those colors. Never did the basket weave stitch before I know how to do front n back post double crochet. Since I have not used the pipsqueak yarn before I love the challenge. Thank you for sharing this with us.
Thanks, Bonnie! I just ordered your crocheted baby blanket book!
Thank you for your kind support Rose! I really enjoyed putting that one together!
Such a good value with several blanket patterns included!
BEAUTIFUL BLANKET,THE STITCH IS SO NICE...THANK YOU FOR SHARING...
Like the blanket can’t wait to make it
It’s adorable.
This would be great in a large throw blanket for your sofa on those long cold winter days....
It surely would Mutti Ro!
Lovely! So soft and colorful🙂. Excellent tutorial!
Yes, becoming one of my favorite baby yarns for sure Suzanne!
I love this blanket!
Such a beautiful blanket 💞💞💞
Very cute blanket!
This is a beautiful baby blanket thanks for sharing
This is a lovely pattern and the yarn looks so soft. Thank you for a great tutorial. God Bless.
Wow, this looks like like a blanket I just made but a different yarn.
Love it. Ty for teaching the Basket weave
Beautiful pattern and I love the colors of this yarn you used.
I've had some YarnBee Frosting yarn (very similar to this yarn) for ages and had no idea what to do with it. Now I know! Thanks so much for this!
Oooh...I would love to see the colors you use Rita!
@@BonnieBayCrochet Sorry to say it didn't work out with that yarn. It's way more difficult to work with than the yarn you're using. The basketweave pattern hardly showed up at all. I tried to frog it but it's too difficult to frog, so I just tossed it after about 6 rows.
Super cute! Thank you!
So beautiful and adorable thank you very much for the tutorial I love it
This yarn is not hard to use as long as you can feel your way. Thank you for the tutorial.
Such a sweet blanket. Thank you 😍
Beautiful blanket 😍
The yarn looks soft enough for a top.
If you don’t mind wearing acrylic, that can work!
I didn’t use the pipsqueak yarn I use the lion brand Terry Spohn which are pretty comparable and I haven’t had shade since I was in junior high and I’m in my late 50s now. I was able to use the Terry span to make a shell border on a baby blanket it was very easy to use. I started off by making several different swatches to get the feel for the yarn And that helped a great deal so if anybody out there is worried about crocheting with this yarn just practice with it first and I have no doubt you’ll be able to master there’s no time. That said I would just like to think Bonnie for her time and expertise on teaching us these amazing crochet projects. God bless everyone
Absolutely beautiful! I love this blanket Bonnie! I’m going to try with that yarn because it just looks amazing but I have some trouble with my eyes so, if I can’t manage, I’ll use a 4 weight! Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful work! I love this!
If you try to "feel your way" through the foundation chain, you may be ok Robin. I honestly could not see the chain holes but relied on my fingertips to tell me where to put the hook. Once past that row it becomes much, much easier!
Thank you so much Bonnie for this tutorial I just love the colors!❤️
This was truly fun to make Tainya!
I have tons of this yarn and will definitely create this beautiful baby blanket. Love your videos!!! *Subscriber*
Thank you for this tutorial, I will be making this!
So beautiful. I live in Europe (Netherlands) and can't get this yarn here. Such a pity. Absolutely gorgeous. Thank you for sharing. All the best. xxx
Perhaps you have something similar there? This also works up nicely with regular worsted/Aran weight yarn.
@@BonnieBayCrochet Thank you for reply. I will be checking.
I love this blanket!..A yarn that has the soft fuzzy but might be a little easier to see is the new Caron latte cakes..also self stripping yarn. I have not used it yet but it's almost a blend of yarns. Just a thought...
That's a great suggestion Stacy! Thanks!
Beautiful ❤️
Bonnie, I love this blanket and the yarn you used. About the colors of the yarn. I went to order some and find that the Pipsqueak stripes comes in a variety of colors and I can't tell for sure which one you used for this blanket. It looks like it might be the birdsong or octopus but there are several that look they could possibly be it. Please clarify thank you
I think I may try this. It looks so pretty. Thanks for sharing. Wonder if I could use regular yarn. 🧶
Is there a written pattern for this blanket. It’s beautiful and your tutorials are easy to follow. Thanks.
There is Trudy and this should be available later today on my LoveCrafts store here: www.lovecrafts.com/en-us/search-v2?q=bonnie+barker. Sorry for the delay Trudy.
Yes! It would be handy to have the link and a materials list in the description. Love this pattern and yarn 😍
@@Lilac80Here's the link, which is also in the video description: www.lovecrafts.com/en-us/p/easy-beginners-basket-weave-baby-blanket-crochet-pattern-by-bonnie-barker
Thank you for this tutorial. I'm curious how many Pipsqueek cakes you used for this blanket?
I used 3 for this design.
Красота 🤗👍
Could you use a chainless DC foundation row? I have this yarn and was looking for a pattern that wasn't just 'plain', thank you so much for this
You can try if you like, but not sure how difficult it would be to feel your way for the first row. This will be covered up by the perimeter round anyway and may be less bulky with the standard starting chain. Just a suggestion!
@@BonnieBayCrochet Thanks, I just am not much of a fan of chaining, but gave it a shot and, well, yeah... thank goodness it frogs easily... also ran across your Left handed version, YaY, thank you SO much :)
I was wondering if this yarn can be used for a four legged crochet dog sweater? My pattern calls for single crochet only.i do not like that stitch.i am trying to find twob stitches that will keep my little shih tzu warm, she has very short hair.I need a stitch that's light yet very pretty, for inside the house..and another stitch that's a bit warmer for outside.i seen at Michael's dog yarn looks quite warm and very soft.I also have been looking at so many beautiful stitches, can anyone tell me for example if I wanted to use this stitch on this blanket for my dog pajamas can that be done? And other stitches like jasmine stitch,etc.. And can I add increases on other stitches like this one,as the dog sweater calls for increases. Im sorry my comment is so long,I just really really need a couple better beautiful stitches that are good for inside and outside and will take increases..I am very curious on can you use any stitch for increasing and decreases.Thank you.
The blanket is gorgeous. I have a baby blanket to make but need something sort of light weight since it will be going to Florida. Any ideas?
I have many others that would be a lighter weight blanket Brenda. Here's a list to consider: ruclips.net/p/PLoIugZBYOS0VMMo45FxyUH1baNFh3XIqY
Is there a way to make this wider than 28”. What would the multiples be?
You can add a multiple of 8 to the existing starting chain.
I have been working on pattern of yours, an afghan for my granddaughter for the past 4 days, she wanted the pillar look on the edges, cables, and the basket weave in the center. I'd love to attach a picture but I don't see where to do it on here
I don't think there is a way on this site, but you can always post it on my Bonnie Bay Crochet Facebook page here: facebook.com/bonnie.m.barker.7/, or send to me at bonniebay@me.com.
How many yarns you needed to finish the blanket
Aysha Flores I used 3 for this blanket.
BonnieBayCrochet thank you
I'll be making one of these with Red Heart yarn and was just wondering what the actual multiple count would be? Is it multiples of 8 + 3?
You are close Amy! It is 8 + 4.
I really hate that yarn I'm sorry you working with it beautiful I just could never do it but great video thank you
I understand! If you can get past the first row, the rest becomes very easy using front and back post stitches. This pattern can also be worked using a smoother yarn.
@@BonnieBayCrochet that's what I plan to do LOL I love your channel thanks for responding to me I really appreciate it hun
@@lindajustacrochetsister4659 Have a wonderful day!
How much is the length of this blanket? X
As shown, this blanket is approximately 28" x 28". You can always make this longer by adding additional rows.
@@BonnieBayCrochet thank you for replying x
I just was at the Premier warehouse sale and got some Parfait Layers ... calls for a 6.5, but doesn't seem THAT bulky, can I use a 6 and it turn out even remotely like this? :)
You can try. Parfait Layers is a tad bulkier than what I used here though. I would recommend a different design for this yarn. I do have one here: ruclips.net/video/T-2865y_diI/видео.html
@@BonnieBayCrochet Thank you so very much for that link. Can't wait to make that for our little girl due at the end of October :D I do need to make this lovely basketweave too ... goodness gracious so much to crochet, so little time and energy at 8 months preggers lol
@@yappytown Congratulations!! I am so very happy for you and totally understand the energy thing. I have 5 wonderful children and don't know what I would do without them! They are the best things in life!
Bonnie can you tell me the size of this blanket
This one is approx. 28" x 28". You can increase the size by adding multiples of 8 to the existing starting chain.
Do you have a written pattern for this??
I will be available later today in my online store here Susan: www.lovecrafts.com/en-us/search-v2?q=bonnie+barker. Sorry for the delay! Just waiting for LoveCrafts to post it.
I think your article information will be useful to my girlfriend. I will let her know. Show me a lot of information.
