This episode is where the saga of Rhaenyra shooting her own reputation in the foot begins, and what starts as a rebellious teen being understandably upset and angry about everything going on (loss of her mother, loss f her friendship with Alicent, likely loss of her position as heir, her father getting the son he’s been wanting for years, and the strained relationship with him) and acting out, growing into “How was I supposed to know there would be consequences for my actions?!”
I like that the women Alicent is sitting with at camp are...in my head I call them the "proto-Greens": Hightower, Lannister, Redwyne...all families that join the Greens later on.
I like to think the sight of the White Heart didn't necessarily indicate that Rheanyra is the choosen one to continue the Targaryan line but rather her bloodline, since hers and Daemon's descendants are the continuity of Targaryen reign...
Although there is a lot to enjoy in this episode, there are also a lot of dumb things, especially the "plan" the get Craghas out of the cave, and the fact that he actually falls for it, and all of his men come out just to shoot Super Daemon running through the field.
@@thatamericanbritishbloke5672 whenever he does something objectively terrible, the writers want us to think "He's awesome!" When the Greens do something objectively terrible, they want us to think " The Greens are scum of the Earth." And let's be honest, Daemon isn't even that interesting.
@@amorojaz27 Thats a lie Daemon has a lot haters and He's not supposed to be a good person He's a grey character and is one of the most interesting character from the book fire & blood because he's a true targaryen he values the targaryen's legacy above all else and does what he thinks need to be done even if its bad. Anybody who antagonises allicent or greens for that matter don't actually pay attention to the story, they just adopt whatever the black propaganda (which this show is 10000%) gives them. Anyone who applies critical thinking sees how everything Rhaenyra and Viserys do is so self destructive, opposite to what they say matters and ultimately completely delusional. Like your video was one of the best that pointed this fact out and I need more bcs i know im right and I hate the surface discourse casual fans have abiut hating greens and omg girly girl Rhaenyra
I think it’s so interesting how this episode shows us why the Lannisters support the greens going forward as Alicent takes Tyland’s concerns seriously and Rhaenyra offends Jason and Ceira.
While it's true that Jason behaved rather pompously, he is Lord Lannister, he was a suitor for Rhaenyra's hand, and she owed him more courtesy than she gave him. A princess, and particularly a princess who is heir to a throne, needs to learn to deal with obnoxious people as well as pleasant and kind ones.
I've never seen the hype for Daemon in regards to his battle prowess when he isn't on Caraxes. His best feat is defeating a pirate, who arent' well known for being capable swordsmen. The way his fans hype him up you'd think he was Arthur Dayne or Barristan. Anywho, thoroughly your video my fellow Green supporter.
LOL you're not wrong, and while I love the design of Craghas, whatever is on his skin also makes him look kinda low-mobility so defeating him one-on-one might not be the great accomplishment it seems like.
Rhaenyra probably could have succeeded viserys relatively smoothly if she wasn't shirking her responsibilities and acting like a spoiled brat most of the time, why people think she'd make some great queen if only the men weren't so misogynist and accepted girl power or some other nonsense is beyond me
I don't think it would have been super smooth regardless, but she REALLY did nothing to help herself by leaving King's Landing and letting Otto and Alicent basically take over the government years before Viserys was dead.
@@HillsAliveYT there certainly would have been problems even if she did everything right but there was no reason for a massive civil war to break out other than her irresponsibility and proving over and over again to the entire country that she doesn't take ruling seriously and is little more than a spoiled child even after she's well out of her teens
Much like most of the big battles in GOT, I truly dislike the battle in this episode. It doesn't make any sense, it's big and splashy and as long as you don't think about it it holds itself together for a bit, but eventually it just descends into foolishness.
LOL luckily I know nothing about medieval battle techniques because all I see when I scrutinize HotD/GoT battle scenes is what a goddamn nightmare it must be to shoot them.
I definitely don't necessarily agree with a lot of your theories and beliefs and such when it comes to Dany, or many Targaryens in general (And I've been pretty vocal about it on certain people's videos, as well as yours in the past.) but I definitely appreciate the perspective you're giving in these reactions. I'm "Team Black," assuming I had to choose, but I do understand and generally like the changes that this show has done, and can understand your points, because it actually makes sense... I still stand by the majority of what I've said in the past, but I'm not unable to appreciate and recognize a differing perspective or point of view... I still don't think Dany will "go off" and burn everything down in the main series, and I'm still "routing" for Rhaenyra as a protagonist in this story, but I do like these reactions (which vary quite a lot from what I came into it thinking). I don't think my mind will be changed about anything, but I can still appreciate it... I hope that makes sense lol
I made a video on them right before Season 1 premiered...it's fascinating just because they're the newest chapters from F&B in 2018 and they haven't been very thoroughly analyzed....and GRRM just covers 60 AC to 100 AC in vast sweeps of one chapter.
Queen, had a thought about the first dragon dreamer that we know of. so with information we have she was the first, perhaps the red god gave the targs dragon dreams as a power of their house to save the power of dragons for the future battle of ice and fire.
Lol Corlys and Daemon are pretty trash commanders ngl, they loose pretty much any fair engagement they have ie battle of the gullet (before the dragons came still Jace got rekt and lost Lil Eggs dragon and Vissy 2 got shipped to Lys to become a CSA victim) and the Gods Eye (Daemon Ded with Warcrime Lizards)
@@HillsAliveYT ikr they have 2 dragons and I’m assuming around 200-500 war ships plus the supply ships, I’m assuming it’s mainly due to manpower since they only have driftmark supplying men versus the triarchy, who weren’t really backing the war but still they have seasmoke and Carcas the murder worm
Didn't notice Corlys and Daemon losing here. Plus, major points to the Sea Snake for having the most gorgeous armor ever seen in Westeros. (okay, I'll admit I'm biased, I adore Lord Corlys)
i swear when my bf said he liked Rhaenyra i did a slow turn and threatened to break up with him lol also i hate that they didnt give us chubby Rhaenyra i would have loved seeing a curvy dragon rider
what f'd up shit did Jaehaerys do their betrothals were on alissane if your talking saera she poked the trauma compartment the man was more like to spoil his daughters
I remember when this episode aired that people disliked Rhaenyra for being petulent. But I had so much sympathy for her. Like her father ignored what was best for their house and married for love instead of duty (they already had the Hightowers alligance, but the Velaryons were spurrned) and then constantly yells at her that she must do her duty. Rhaenyra can't see the future. She doesnt know the dance is going to happen, she probably would have taken her duties more seriously had she known there was a conspiracy to usurp her. She spends this entire episode convinced her father will name Aegon heir, so I get her anger. I was fully like this as a teenager and I didn't have the fate of the realm resting on my shoulders. Yeah she is being a baby, but the adults in her life are doing such an awful job of preparing her for the throne and the chance that people might try to usurp her. Could you IMAGINE if Otto had counseled her instead of userping her?

LOL and to be fair SOMEONE COULD HAVE TAUGHT HER SOMETHING but also to be fair she could maybe crack a book on politics on her own at some point too.
^Someone at some point should’ve just shaken her and said “ Rhaenyra if you want these people to support you, you need to get them to like you.”

Goodness, you're so right about Rhaenyra acting like a child whilst Alicent has to deal with two children.

The most annoying thing about Daemon is that the writers expect the viewers to root for him.
Really? Ryan Condall express surprise online that people ARE rooting for him.
Nope other way around yet the fans myself included love him 😂😂😂
I don't think the writers expect that, especially Sara Hess

You should do a video about Jaeharys and Alysanne's daughters, and how terrible they are as parents...

Yeah I had the same thought as I was editing this video so it's going on the list.
I would not say they are bad parents cause half their kids turned out alright. Now the other half were little shits just saying
They were shitty kids, because they were Targs. Not their parents fault
@thedragondemands5186 Just Sunscribed, I love a good deep dive on a newly discovered creator

Are you going to reacting to the new season as it comes out ?
That’s the plan!
First time I am second in any comment section and I am proud of it😂
Are you going to try and upload all these before HOTD 2?
