when people treat 1/5 scale like 1/8 , it makes me think about a person with a stock pick up truck and complains he’s breaking axles because he’s jumping it like it’s a damn trophy truck....
Great review, thanks for taking the time to do the vid. You deserve more subs. Getting my Outcast today and already have the Kraton. X-Maxx is next on the list when we get stock here in Australia
After throwing around the Outcast 8s, I can say for sure that the xmaxx is more forgiving than the Arrma 8s trucks when landing badly. I've broken two wing mounts and bolts that hold It in place, I've broken and bent the bolts that hold the steering knuckle to the steering link, the rear link ends screw themselves in, and the biggest problem that I had with the Kraton 8s was bent drive shafts. I even sold the Kraton 8s for that reason alone. The Outcast has bent its driveshafts a little bit less, but we'll see with time. Also I bent my shock shafts and broke shock rod ends (replaced shock oil with 30wt and that stopped). These Arrma trucks are just sooo freaking heavy. That's why I prefer plastic chassis rigs for crazy high jumps into concrete or anything else. I wouldn't even dare jump my O8S on concrete. The xmaxx is not perfect, but for me personally, it remains my favorite for crazy stuff. I would love to see a big plastic chassis vehicle from Arrma. Something like a 1/6 Granite. That would be awesome. For now, I'll just baby the O8S. Hehe. I do like the O8S, but I wish it didn't have a wing mount, I wish it had a plastic chassis and I wished it weighed less.
I completely agree, the XMaxx takes more abuse than the 1/5 Arrma’s. I think it’s a toss up on which one I like more though. The XMaxx takes abuse like no other, but the Outcast handles a lot better. I wonder if Horizon will ever come out with a large scale composite chassis?
awesome collection. I got the xmaxx 8s and the Kraton version 1.5 im very happy with both rigs. I am thinking of waiting for version 1.5 of the outcast to get it. great review
My Outcast 8s tracks straight down the street with no steering wheel hold, wheelies no problem on stock gearing, Zop 5000 mah 60c 4s batteries, abt 25 min run time on moderating pedaling, no bashing just driving it semi hard....well pleased with mine....kraton 8s tires will fit Outcast 8s for more traction
Wow, great collection. Nice video comparison. I am jealous of your collection. I will admit, I was not feeling the Kraton 8S too much, but the Outcast definitely looks like a beast.
My friend , I have all three trucks as yourself . Ive Ran them , raced them , jumped them , bashed them, and sent all of them to the moon , but they do not come close to the thrill and excitement of an X MAXX There will never be a X MAXX killer . By the way great video , just came across your channel , and you just won yourself an other subscriber . keep it up buddy
Thank you for the sub, I agree, the XMaxx is definitely in its own category! Nothing seems to take the big air like the XMaxx and keep going the way it does, but it’s pretty light for its size, which I think helps!
Nice. I also have the xmaxx 8s and Kraton 8s. Mine ran fine out of the box. My rear camber is off though and my rear cvd pin where it goes into the diff cup broke off because it was not centered. I see wetness around my diff housing on both my K8S and O8S, so I have to investigate if they are leaking. I honestly don't use that wrench for the lugs. I use my Makita impact wrench and a real 24mm socket. I'm not breaking my knuckles 😂. I had no issues removing the pinion on my K8S. The pinion got loose on its own actually and the bolts on the sliding motor mount came off pretty easily. I took my time with them and used an L Allen wrench for that.
Thank you for sharing your experience! I think my K8S was a fluke as there was loctite all over the motor shaft and motor mount from the factory. It looks like it was spilled everywhere when it was assembled. I ran my K8S in loose dirt recently and can hear it in my diffs now, I’ll be servicing them soon myself.
@@alltechtalk330 cool. The diffs are very easy to access. I had to put foam on the front of my Outcast 8s body (underneath) with gorilla tape because the front shock tower was messing up my body.
Seen too many videos of broken Armas to believe that are the best, they look great and all but they're not perfect. I chose traxxas for my kids because in my area they were easier to get into, I have no problems finding parts and they cost less.
The money one pays for these trucks, the QC is terrible.$ 900 bucks and leaking shocks and $30 radio tools that are incapable of use for the truck. May. Totally agree need to do a once over on a RTR treat it like a 2nd hand buggy. For the equivalent money Xmaxx all day. Thanks for a great video.
Great question! Both the Kraton and Outcast are great, but different purposes. I bash the Outcast like I do the XMaxx, but the Kraton I’ve set up for speed. I don’t jump it too high, but rip up dirt with it. So it all depends on if you’re looking for another large scale basher, or large scale dirt racer is the best way I’d put it. All 3 trucks are awesome though!
Update...here's the link for 24 mm wrench for wheel nuts, fits perfect....please loctite lil handle screw before using....highly recommend tool🙂 www.integy.com/st_prod.html?p_prodid=17788&p_catid=166#.X8XYqGlMGw4
Are you planning on sending it more than 25ft in the air? If so, the XMaxx is more forgiving on landings and more durable. If you want better handling and stunts, the Outcast is the way to go.
Outcast 8s Battery trays are adjustable length wise.. screws on bottom of chassis, loosen, slide battery tray track to length of battery...hope this helps
I had the kraton 8s I like it a lot was a lol to big for me and the fact that didn’t do wheelie sucked I just got the outcast 8s talk about a beautiful truck maybe some day I’m hoping to get the traxxas x MAXX to bash I’m not a basher plus I prefer handling over bashin. But I love my outcast 8s maybe some day I can be blessed with an x MAXX I had MAXX and it was koo to WILDIN for me great truck tho
The only reason the Kraton 8S didn’t wheelie out of the box was the center diff fluid was too light. Replace it with 20M weight and it will wheelie! Also I recommend running a 23T pinion in the Kraton 8S, makes a huge difference.
One complaint I have about Arrma is the ridiculous wings they put on them, a wing belongs on a car not on a truck. X Maxx is the better looking truck by far.
COOL VIDEO MAYN! I'M NOT A TRAXXAS FAN BOY, BUT I DEFINITELY PREFER XMAXX ALL THE WAY. BUILT LIKE A TANK! (A PLASTIC, MODULAR TANK LOL.) I CANT SEE PUTTIN THAT SAME AMOUNT OF MONEY OUT ON THE 5TH SCALE ARRMA'S. HOWEVER I DO HAVE A FEW SMALLER SCALE ARRMA MODEL'S THAT I THINK KICK HOLY ASS! THAT IS ALL. THANKYOU AGAIN MAN.
The XMaxx is the toughest of those 3, totally agree. If you see my most recent video, I launch my XMaxx pretty high in the last clip, don’t think I’d do that with the K8! The K8 is much better on the track though, the handling is amazing!
Mine will be almost mint condition 30 years from now....I don't jump 15 ft high crap n break my toys....those wheel nut wrench, garbage.....get the billet aluminum 24 mm wrench....it's like $27 on internet.... can't remember who but I just got one...red orange and black I think...fits perfect..boys in the UK laugh when they break their stuff and gets paid RUclips to do it... unsubscribed from everyone.....ehhhhh...not me blah...cheers
8s better its just when u jump the thing 40 feet in the air of course its gonna bend duhh an also if u don't land right u should not complain i mean arrma be doing everything we want lol Traxxas don't what more do ya want
when people treat 1/5 scale like 1/8 , it makes me think about a person with a stock pick up truck and complains he’s breaking axles because he’s jumping it like it’s a damn trophy truck....
😅🤣 you're right
Great review, thanks for taking the time to do the vid. You deserve more subs. Getting my Outcast today and already have the Kraton. X-Maxx is next on the list when we get stock here in Australia
Thanks for the sub! Let me know what you think of the Outcast!

awesome collection. I got the xmaxx 8s and the Kraton version 1.5 im very happy with both rigs. I am thinking of waiting for version 1.5 of the outcast to get it. great review
Not a bad idea! The 1.5 Kraton was worth the wait.
This new Outcast looks amazing dude. I have the Kraton 8s and I have the Xmaxx but no Outcast yet lol. Top stuff dude
Thanks, Man! All awesome trucks!

Thanks, man! Been collecting and running these things for most of my life. I’ll get some videos of the Outcast bashing soon!

@@alltechtalk330 You also have to give it a lot of upgrades to make it a beast. Straight out of the box imo they're weak.

Wow so many great vehicles.

Great Vid!
Hi l would like to ask you for advice , since you have all three, would you tell me which one you would choose if you had to keep only one
Thank you
What does the A-B option on the remote do?
I’m looking to get a 1/5 scale rc out of all of them which one would you choose first for your first big rc purchase
The XMaxx is probably the most forgiving of the 3 for a first large scale. It takes the most abuse. The XMaxx is technically 1/6 scale though.
AllTechTalk so would you choose the kraton 8s over the x maxx I’m not goin to be bashing the cars what’s your recommendations
@@martinflawless675 Outcast 8s.... nostalgic look, body's are cheap on jenny's RC like 89 bucks...hobby shop 100 or better...FYI...tmi😎😝😁🙂
What bits are you using and where are they available. Lots of stripped screws lately.
What stand are you using? Does it swivel as well as telescoping? Thank you for the great video
It’s a cheap 1/8 stand I got off Amazon. It’s not adjustable on the fly, has a grub screw to lock the position.
Good video 😊😊😊😊
잘 보고 갑니다!
Dx3 is a great controller. Range is great
Glad to hear it performs well! It definitely seems to be better quality than previous Spektrum RTR’s!
Nice video
Ronnie Creason Thank you! Can’t wait to get a few bashing videos of it!
I own the XMaxx. Would you purchase the KRATON or OUTCAST? Great video

Omg i can’t decide, outcast or xmaxx
Are you planning on sending it more than 25ft in the air? If so, the XMaxx is more forgiving on landings and more durable. If you want better handling and stunts, the Outcast is the way to go.
Outcast 8s is more track stable at speeds.....
Xmaxx hands down.
Only compliant is battery life seem so short with 5kmah
Zee batteries wont fit. Gonna have to dremel one side of on each side to get the to fit
Outcast 8s Battery trays are adjustable length wise.. screws on bottom of chassis, loosen, slide battery tray track to length of battery...hope this helps
Which do you reccomend most
For jumping, the XMaxx is the way to go, for track, you want the Kraton. The Outcast is a good blend of both.
Best?
Hard to say, the XMaxx is the most durable, the Kraton handles the best, and the Outcast is a good blend of the other 2.
8s better its just when u jump the thing 40 feet in the air of course its gonna bend duhh an also if u don't land right u should not complain i mean arrma be doing everything we want lol Traxxas don't what more do ya want
Im in my grandpa phone and the xmaxx is true king and no arrma maje there rc durable and i have a traxxas maxx with the wide kit and badland tires
Traxxas tools are alot better than Arrma...
