I spent $80 on an RC truck and I have had nothing but fun with it. I was just about to push the button to buy a Traxxas Maxx or x max. I'm really going to research this more. thank for and informative and straightforward video
I took a look on the specs and they say "full ball bearings" then on the exploded view it has bushings on the steering. They did that on the 6/4/3s platforms but being that cheap I won't complain, I was not expecting that from a 900$ car, the dislikes mean you are doing good : D
I do quite like that new pinion hole shape and eclip to just even more secure it on. Simple but great inovation 👌🏻 it's one of those ideas that are so good it's hard to think why no one has come up with that idea earlier.
Great review very informative for a guy that doesn’t get much time to read threw it properly (that’s me always busy haha). I think based off this knowledge I will wait and see if any improvements are made on another release of this platform (hoping for a MT) I am already into 1/5 scale. I buy most of the stuff I review and most of the first hands on reviews of this were from people that 'paid' arrma for them BUT try and get the price they paid for them out of them AND they'll cite non disclosure! Did they pay $899? or a fraction of that? Well I doubt they paid half that AND we'll call them out! Any of you guys care to comment how much you paid for your early release model? Well that's not going to happen is it? Otherwise you'd break the NDA that muppet G' at HH got you to sign! We like to call a car how it is and HH have MAJOR issues with that. But in getting everyone to 'pay' for a car they got them to sign an NDA SO (KNOWING THAT) HOW FAIR A JUDGEMENT OF THE CAR DID YOUR FAVOURITE YOU TUBER GIVE YOU? My LHS can't shift these $900 cars for love nor money. Jaytee RC's 38mph speed run sealed it for us! 8S! 38Mph! Oh just wait until MC2 etc come up with upgraded chassis!? So I am meant to encourage my viewers to spend $900 safe in the knowledge they need to spend another $200 on a new chassis? Also hearing rumors of 'cash for cars' what's all that about then? 3 things I think were a terrible idea. 6061 T6 chassis, bend city. Mod 1 gears in a 1/5 scale. Should be at LEAST 1.5. My third issue is 24.2 pounds, are they insane? A small tube between plastic shock towers is going to do NOTHING to prevent a bent chassis. The rest they did alright, but the 3 most important parts are it's weakest links.
I like the truck. I don't own it yet. I hope everyone understands this is version 1 for Arrma. Later versions will be better. I don't think this will take down the xMaxx(large support/parts available). Arrma will improve on this platform going forward but a friend of mine has this beast and with a 24tooth pinion, engine timing at 7% and punch level up, it is a great truggy. Wait until aftermarket parts(shocks w/towers, chassis and motors w/motor mounts) start coming out 😮👍🏿 I'm still debating if I should wait on the next version or buy this one🤷🏾♂️I love my xMaxx. ***Also everyone who's reading this don't sleep on the Mojave😮🔥🔥🔥 Buy it if you can(worth it)👍🏿
He there..could i use these batteries in my kraton 8s...Spektrum 14.8V 5000mAh 4S 100C Smart LiPo, Hardcase - IC5 ...it says it recomends 50c...but they dont have none in stock..kind regards
well for something this big and heavy it needs an 800kv range motor with a max 5 ESC, a faster servo and a better spectrum radio and perhaps 20 million in the centre diff or maybe earplugs for it to handle and behave more to an X-Maxx 8s or Arrma Kraton 6s, so like wheelies loads of backflips and just more of a lively truck, and from what I have seen the transmission is very strong and very well built. Just from what I have seen it does not really pull wheelies and seems a bit sluggish.
love the truggy will be getting one in the future by the way the traxxas revo 3.3 i bought did come with the bluetooth telemetry installed but i believe thats the only model
Depends on where you are going to run it, limitless needs very long area to run it in, as 100mph is 146 feet per second so a 5-600ft parking lot is suddenly very small! That said Jay Tee RC did a speed test of the Kraton 8S and after watching it I cancelled my order, that and the chassis bending in 3 other videos put me off, I'll wait until the V2 comes out!

24lbs vs 19lbs I'm excited about the Kraton 8s. I own the X-maxx and wouldn't mind having the Kraton 8s as well. I am a little worried about the Kraton weighing 5lbs more than the X-maxx. I'm hoping this isn't true or if so how this is going to affect the Kraton overall.
We are not impressed 😕 we so wanted to be! Doesn’t seem to be an awful lot of love on the Facebook groups either, even from the die hard fans! Looking forward to seeing one in action though on the weekend 👍🏼 open mind ish here
I think you hit the nail on the head. I think people had hyped themselves into thinking this was going to be an xmaxx killer. Whilst it's a good car I don't quite see it head to head with the Xmaxx as the Xmaxx is 100% MT and this isn't. Although I think it will be good, I have to look towards the Losi DBXL-E 2.0 which is about the same size and speed as this, indeed the losi imaybe faster accelerating
Good honest review. Thanks for that. This Arrma is going to take some time evolving into an X-Maxx equal. Nice start but they did cut some small corners like the esc and no speed pinion. But it does have some attractive new engineering. Arrma just brings our expectations so high.
I was hoping for an honest review. On how many times this thing already bent and how so so slow it is. The 6s Xmaxx best this when it came out and this is 8s for 900 wiping bucks. What the heck
Jason I was talking far as power and many other things. Yes it caught on fire but Traxxas would give you a new one. This one already bent and it’s only 40. And it’s just a RC car. Shoot COPPA is what I am think about anyways now. This is old need and RUclips might not be the same. It’s going to get crazy.

The #1 thing is that it's about $100 overpriced honestly. And now you have to buy the sway bars as an option? Really ARRMA? They are turning into another Traxxas
If you are nitpicking over a mere $100 especially on a video like this then I regret to inform you that you are in the wrong hobby. You won’t see a single axle set of tyres for a 1/5 Kraton for that sort of money.
@Northants bashers i have to say I have one on order and am debating getting the 8s xmaxx instead. I've a few arrma cars but also have owned a lot of traxxas in the past (not a fanboy for either but just like good RC cars). I'm watching videos on this and it's looking sluggish out of the box. The rear wing I highlighted in an earlier video might be a weak point (That's why the maxx is such a good basher as it doesn't have one) and sure enough Netcruzer RC bent/bust his the first time out. But you must remember you can't critize an arrma - if it brreaks it's always the drivers fault never ever the car!) I've never bought an Xmaxx as when I was in New Jersey both my good friends used to lend me theirs whenever I needed one. Something's always come along when I was about to get one. I am going to put up a poll in youtube right now and see what the fan vote is. What do you think?
@@DriftomaniacsRC hello mate and thanks for a response. But what I can see this truck is not strong enough for proper bashing, the chassis it will just bend if u hit the grand with front. I own xmaxx for last 3-4 month and it took a beating. I just did few jumps over a big rump without any experience how to do this properly and got few bad landing and just broke a front wheel bearing. I'm 100% sure then arrma it will just broke in half if u do this like I did. I think arrma Mojave is much better car and that's my next one to buy. But that's up to u what u like to do it with that car. Some ppl buy them just to do nice upgrades and do speed runs some just like bash hard and they want something strong what can take a biting. Thanks

xmaxx kraton are both sweet one a monster truck the other is a truggy two different platforms

I've just watched JT's speed runs with it and whilst he shoots a good video the car is not like a rocket ship although he was running it in the wet

The esc will be fine the car isn't that heavy and the motor is a low KV,the esc looks to be a rebranded max6 8s esc.

The parts price arrma is losing but that is it vs the xmaxx an the esc needs to be bumped up so they don't have a traxxas issue
Esc issue was only in the infraction its pushing the limits of that system

Thats what the 2 years warranty is for use it. Every esc have a failure rate even a brand new max 6

Some one did a gps run and it got up to 38mph. Some one said they were bad batteries but 38?

Its not a jumping truck. Those shocks arent going to make it. I've already read where people are bending the chassis. Its not an X Maxx.
