Have you been to this shop?
Small world, I grew up in RI and I lived right down the street from that shop!!
Thanks for the memories and video!
@@danpina2125 cool!
Nice, I like this road trip series. Don’t get me wrong because I make most of my purchases on line due to convenience and options but there’s great value with being able to see, feel and smell cards as opposed to an online picture. Plus, you save on fees, shipping and handling. Not to mention you’re supporting a small local business! Thanks for sharing and Good Collecting👍❤️
@@commentingcollector all great points
Great stuff Mike. Looking forward to hitting up this shop at some point. I’ve bought from Tim on Twitter but not in person. Also looking forward to the PB Collectibles video. I haven’t been to the shop, but I’ve bought a bunch from Paul in person at shows. One of the best dealers in the Northeast, and a wonderful guy. Have fun!
Right on!
Hi Mike. The shop looks awesome, and it's organized. Enjoy your road trip and the visits to the LCS.
@@jimfalkler9361 thanks Jim!
I grew up in Chepachet, RI and yes you said it correctly. That small town hasn’t changed much over the past 45 years. Hope you enjoyed our small town.
Thank you!
I'd love to hear your review from Paul's store in Newport. He's a great guy and has some Amazing Vintage!! Very very easy person to transact with as well.
The LCS reviews are awesome!
@@brianwisz9006 stopped in today! 👀
@@JunkWaxHero review worthy?
@@brianwisz9006 very much so
Great video you produced! If you're going to these local LCS stores, could you provide a link to their website if they sell their products online? Rather support some local store, instead of some big box store. Thanks!
@@landonfuhrman5394 good call! Thanks for the feedback
That shop is about 20 minutes from my house, been there several times. Tim and Jay are really good dudes!
Yes!
Travel video tip number one. Know how to pronounce the name of the town. If unsure, ask your lunch server.
100%
I'm impressed that everything is priced! They also look to have vintage British cigarette/candy soccer cards. Those have become a side collection for me because they are WAY too cheap for what they are.
Great looking store - continued success to the owners. And how about a Beatles & Seinfeld reference; I knew Mike was a cool person.
lol thanks
Any video that mentions anytown usa is an auto like from me 😂. Hope you continue to enjoy the summer of Mike!
@@SconnieTradition lol thank you!
Thanks for sharing. I’m always looking for card shops to visit. Good stuff Mike.
Thanks for watching!
"I was a big fan of The Beatles as a kid"... has this changed, Mike? I assume not, given you bought the Beatles card. I'm only asking, as you used past-tense.
I was born after the Beatles broke up (I was going to say 'post-Beatles', but is there such a thing!?), but have always loved their music. Timeless!
Great to see you getting out and about with family, and making full use of your well-earned time off work.
Thanks for sharing your adventures with us. 👍
I still like them a lot but really loved them as a kid
Thanks for the tour, Mike. Have a great time. Safe travels. Looking forward to more.
Great video, Mike! Picker Jim and PeterB go to an antique store in RI and find some unique treasures.
Great idea!
I’ve been in Tim’s shop with Jim. Great shop in a cool small town. Couple antiques stores as well
I would have liked to see the Beatles card.
Looks like a fun store and has a good organized set up. Pretty decent vintage cards.....A lot of modern cards, though, but might not necessarily be, a bad thing per se. I think if they want to entertain the younger generations, it's probably something, just about every hobby shop should do imo. Despite their being some sentiment on RUclips of ''shiny cards being worthless.'' The truth is, it's popular and there's an audience for it.
@@ACD1994 agreed
I’d welcome more dialog on cleanliness & organization of card shops. Like do people care? We have one here locally that is like a hoarder’s paradise. Nothing is organized at all and honestly not very clean either. It’s a one-man shop, cash & carry but it’s been there 20+ years. But I can easily spend hours there just digging thru stuff to see what I can find. I haven’t been able to sneak any pics of the place yet.
@@cntryniche I definitely care!
Nice place
I saw some Cubs
Thanks
Have fun on Holiday Road
Great now that song is in my head 😂
Is there any way I can reach out to these fine fellows?
I hope you're enjoying your time in Little Rhody. I lived there long enough ago to have used toll tokens on the Mount Hope Bridge. Still miss the sea smell.🌊🌊🌊
@@ThePennysleever I tagged them in the post on Twitter!
Cool. Yes you are pronouncing it correctly. Have a good time in Newport. There is an old stadium in town that semi pro ball has been played in for many years. I believe there is still a team using it.
@@peterb4871 cool!
Your audio is better than your home videos :P
Ouch
If you haven’t been/didn’t know already, the tennis Hall of Fame is in Newport, RI. That should be at the top of your visit list.
I definitely tried, but no one else wanted to go. I was supposed to play there my senior year of high school but it was a late spring and it was canceled. Lifelong regret.
@@JunkWaxHero Sometimes, even on vacation, people have to know how to Fleetwood Mac it and go their own way for a day.
I stopped up yesterday to check the shop cool place about 10 minutes from my house
Nice!
@@JunkWaxHero you probably drove thru Smithfield on route 44 to Newport the other day
From the thumbnail I could have sworn you were in Kennebunkport. looks like a good old school LCS.
Is there a good LCS in Kennebunkport?
@@JunkWaxHero I am not sure. When we visit there is a cool shop with sports pictures and some great panoramic pictures of Foxboro and the like, but I have not seen cards in there. I think it is called the Stadium Gallery. Very cool place to walk around.
Stop one is done! Nice! Safe travels, my friend!
Thanks 👍
Wicked dope cardshop
I see what you did there. Lol thanks
Great card shop!
It really is!
Thanks for the video mike appreciate the kind words. Wish we had more time to chat was to busy. Would have given you corect info lol. Thank you tho
Jay
Thanks Jay!
Vamanos! You involved in that crystal blue now Mike?
@@SammyThunder Walt and Jesse had a fight so I’m standing in for Jesse. Things are going great so far!
I'm going to tell Don's that you're seeing other cardshops
lol I told him on Sunday. We’re in an open relationship.
@@JunkWaxHero ummmm....don't tell him how much you love clean well laid out shops where things are easy to find.
Nice video!
The audio & video are fine but need more make up, LOL. Outstanding old school feel for a LCS.
My makeup artist wasn’t able to join us on vacation
You missed Baseball cards of RI ?
What Beatles card did you snag?
@@bryanhogamier3039 just 1964 Topps card 33A. Nothing big but I liked it.
@@JunkWaxHero I like it. I think 64 may be some of the first Beatles cards. I went with a 1972 Panini McCartney and Lennon. I think there was 6 of the McCartneys and 12 of the Lennons graded when I bought them. I wanted a card from their drug years with lower pops. I would still like to get an early card of theirs with the whole band. When I buy music cards I go with the sharpest card that wow's me and not the earliest. Check out the 72 Lennon, it's a piece of art. I don't even like Lennon that much but it's one of my favorite cards.
@@bryanhogamier3039 thanks for the tip!
It's just my style of collecting. I do like to get cards of people before they died tho. I have a 75 Hendrix with a Nam soldier in the background, super killer card but Hendrix died in 1970. I had my eye on his 68 rookie but an 8 was 1.2k. I eyed it up for like a year and was going to pull the trigger but bought a pack and didn't pull jack. After seeing how cheap and flimsy the cards were I was glad I didn't buy it. The pop is 34. I decided to go with a 1970 card from Germany which is hard to come by that blows any Hendrix card I have ever seen out of the water. Pop is like 10 or 14, took me 2 years to find one. I want the 78 Marley from Sweden because he died in 1980. I did the same with my Zeppelins. Their cards start in 1970 but are round. I went with 74 and 75 cards with lower pops and better because they are actually cards and the pictures on them are awesome. I went with two of the 1966 Stones card from Japan, each is 1/2. Again, they have earlier cards but they look like rock stars in the picture and they look pissed at the cameraman. They have earlier cards from 64 or 65 but they look like catholic school boys on those cards.
@@bryanhogamier3039 amazing knowledge!
Some very high prices on singles. $130 for a Strawberry XRC PSA 9 with a PD qualifier is crazy. I know having a physical store is expensive, but you need to be at least in the ballpark with current prices.
