Iam kannadiga from bangalore..5 years back our family had been to shridi to seek blessings of saibaba and pandrapur to see vittal temple.. it's natural nobody knew Marathi... we knew English and Hindi.. whenever we tried to converse with local.. we were asked to speak in marathi... hopefully you had a good time not like ours...

@@rishikeshmurnal1156 I am not sure if you visited any of the souther states where people deliberately communicate to you in the local language even though the understand and speak a common language like english and also know that you are unable to understand their local language. This is kind of imposing that language on you. This is not the case in any of the western, eastern or northern states or even states like telangana or andhra pradesh.
@@mands406 I'm a South Indian myself, maybe you spoke to people who didn't know any language other than their mother tongue, otherwise they will speak to you in English if they know you an outsider. Even if they understand English, they may not be able to communicate in English, that's why they reply in their mother tongue. You have misunderstood them them into thinking that they're imposing their language on you. It's always the North Indians trying to impose Hindi on other states. If you don't know Hindi and visit any northern state, the people will be very unforgiving.
