I cant believe you have a whole video on this exact topic! i was so lazy to learn it from my book with all the crazy steps, you simplified it brilliantly
Thank you for this video. You wonderfully summarized the proStaglandin-leukotriene cascade in one page which makes it much more easier to understand. REALLY HELPFUL!!
What a coincidence! I recently helped correct the Pharmacology exams of 3rd year Pharmact students with my Professor. One of the questions was: "Why are prostaglandinE2 analogs often prescribed concomitantly with NSAIDS if patients are to use them rather long-term?" The answer is in the video of course ;)
Thats great! Hopefully not too many mistakes were made. Good job on your channel btw, keep it up! Its great to see graduates who are passionate in their field becoming active on RUclips! :)
@@AKLECTURES Wow, this means so much coming from you! Thanks a thousand! And if I could have only 50% of your passion I would already go further. You made almost 2000 videos, dude, you're an icon! (and a lifesaver for many!). You should become a professor!
Ah ..isnt it like this ... Thromboxane A2 is made from COX 1 and PGI2 and PGE2 is made from COX 2 ..thats written in Lippincot ...and in the video its opposite... its confusing me ...do correct me if im wrong.
Hello, thank you for an informative video, loved it. I had a question. In 4:15 you mentioned that PGI2 inhibits platelet activation and formation. Should it not be the opposite? As NSAIDs like Aspirin reduce platelet function.
You have wronged COX-1 and COX 2. Pg I2 and PG E2 are synthesized by COX-2 PATHWAY not COX 1 PATHWAY. similarly PG A2 is synthesized by COX 1 PATHWAY. Cited from LIPPINCOTT BIOCHEMISTRY BY DENSIE R FERRIER WOLTERS KLUWER
Then if we can maintain balance of prostaglandins then we can prevent platelet cell imbalances and indirectly reduce incidence of cancer formation sites, isnt it
Literally the most in depth and best Channel in terms of explaining/understanding
Thank you! Glad you think so :)
FIRST! We miss you! Come back!!
Indeed, finally a new video! I didn't put AK Lectures on #1 in my Top 10 Biomedical channels video for nothing. You're the best AK!
Just saw this posted and I'm so STOKED YOU ARE BACK
Same here
Thanks! glad to be back! :)
Just a small correction on 1:15, linoleic acid is an omega 6 fatty acid but it's not a 6 carbon fatty acid, it's 18 carbons.
I cant believe you have a whole video on this exact topic! i was so lazy to learn it from my book with all the crazy steps, you simplified it brilliantly
You helped me during undergrad and now you're helping me in medical school. Thank you GOAT.
Thank you for this video. You wonderfully summarized the proStaglandin-leukotriene cascade in one page which makes it much more easier to understand. REALLY HELPFUL!!
i literally have my biochem final in 6 hours and i was struggling with the arachidonic acid.... thank god i have his post notifications on
Talk about good timing! Good luck on your exam, let me know how it went!
where r u from
do u study in med shcool
CANT THANK UUU ENOUGH, im a 1st year med student, and i couldnt understand what this is all about, u made it way clearer
Thank you and welcome back! You are my best teacher!
欢迎回来,谢谢你做的一切!

WELCOME SIR
The legend is back
Thank you.
Your explanation is so comprehensive and wholesome
Whoo welcome back!
Thank you for making me a good doctor! I appreciate you a lot...
COX 1 produces pgf2alpha and TXA2
COX 2 produces PGI2 and PGE2 .
According to lippon
Welcome back, AK!
Great videos by the way :)
Thank you!
Happy to see you back😀😀😍
Cool to see new uploads. I am just watching all of biochemistry. Cant wait to hear all the newly discovered things!
What a coincidence! I recently helped correct the Pharmacology exams of 3rd year Pharmact students with my Professor. Well, not even done with gen chem 2 and I’m scared already but glad I have you 😭
Take it one step at a time, this stuff is great! You'll love it :)
Yes!! You're back, greetings from Mexico 🇲🇽😁😁
Thank you!
Do you know You are amazing..thank you from Iraq..
شكرا لك 🌹
This helped me A TON .... idk how to thank you
I'm becoming good at biochemistry,Thanks to you🥺
The link of your videos is placed in official portal of the medical university. I got acquainted with your channel using these links .😊
Welcome back its really nice to see you again , how have u been?
Thanks! I've been great but a little busy :) hope all is well on your end too!
Just to note; Linoleic acid is an 18C fatty acid with 2 double bonds, not a 6C FA as said at 1:16
I was about typing just exact the same thing but then had the great idea of scrolling through the comments firs ;-)
Boss, linoleic acid is an 18 carbon unsaturated fatty acid. You said 6. Please 🙏
I'm learning a lot from this channel.
Beautifully explained
Excellent as always!
Best lecturer, welcome back
-Egypt
Thank you sir for coming back ❤️❤️❤️👍👍
:)
Also great lecture as a lay person I have a better understanding of what this is now 😊
Dr Andrey you're the best ❤
May Allah bless you..doing extra Ordinary job👍🏻
Great lecture. You make complicated topics appear simple
You're back :)
Sir please made more videos on heart related conditions. I am fan of your videos.
He still exist! Thanks for my amazing biochem grade!
We miss you 😍😍😍
Missed you so much...it's so good to see u😍😍
Ah ..isnt it like this ...
Thromboxane A2 is made from COX 1 and PGI2 and PGE2 is made from COX 2 ..thats written in Lippincot ...and in the video its opposite...
its confusing me ...do correct me if im wrong.
i'm confused too
Replying late but did u get the answer??☹️
Thanks for your efforts but I had noticed that you didn’t mention the prostacyclin in cox2 ?
After a long time
Have great journey ahead
amazing lecture
Sirrrrr youu are just amazing🥰🥰you deserve even more subscribers🤩🤩🤩
Welcome back doctor
Thank you!!
Great Video.
Hello, thank you for an informative video, loved it.
I had a question. In 4:15 you mentioned that PGI2 inhibits platelet activation and formation. Should it not be the opposite? As NSAIDs like Aspirin reduce platelet function.
Your lectures are awesome
A small correction, linoleic acid is actually 18 carbon fatty acid, I guess Andrew wanted to say that it is Omega-6
Very interesting exploitation 👍
u make learning interesting
Sir..I Really Like your Lectures.. Well Explained in Detail of what Is Just Needed...thank U So Much👍👍
Sir i want to know , isnt it opposite Cox 1 produces txa2 while cox2 produces pgI2?
8:13 (correction) we block Cox 1 not 2 because u already said it cox 2 in 8:05
NSIAD block both Cox1&2
he explained it very well
Great analysis of BIOCHEMISTRY
Thanks!
Great video 🌟 One question, isn’t EPA and dihomo gamma linolenic acid are used too? Not exclusively AA in these pathways?
The minister of biochemistry ❤️
Doesn’t TXA2 belong to COX1? Kinda confused
Just subscribed. You're great!! 💜
The Leukotrienes have 4 double bonds making them LTA4, LTB4, LTC4, and LTD4 (not LTA2, LTB2, LTC2, and LTD2)
Great guy. Wonderful explanation. Thank you very much.
Wow this is the best explanation that I ever heard.. gonna subscribe your channel
wow he's back
Thank you for the explanation. I really appreciate it. 😊
So what is the best and safest way to block excess prostaglandin d2 production.
Sir your hand writing is too much good and your teaching is very attractive thank you sir 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🍓🍓🍓🍓🍓🍓🍓🍓🍓🍓🍓👍👍👍👍💖
just love..

Welcome back
We miss u sir

Sir 😊
Pls make the video on why AIDS can't be cure till now 😊
So good videos, thank you! Could you make a 5-Lipoxygenase specific one?
Love the vid. I think you are saying "eiconasoids" as opposed to "eicosanoids"
so helpful!!!! thank you!!!
isnt COX1 responsible for TXA2 and COX2 for PGI2?? think it has gotten switched
Then if we can maintain balance of prostaglandins then we can prevent platelet cell imbalances and indirectly reduce incidence of cancer formation sites, isnt it
Thank you soo much. You are awesome ❤️
Thank you ❤
