The 6.5 creedmoor rumor is true and not just for this rifle. M110, MK48, and M240 along with an "assaulters carbine" called the MRGG Mid Range Gas Gun which I believe are 16" knights guns . There are power point slides over on soldier systems that detail most of the transition( SOCOM Small Arms Update), and quite a few pics floating around of the barrel markings and brown box Hornady ammo on IG. I think there was even an army times article on the MK48( " SOCOM doubles down on SUPER-SAW")
Interesting. I had heard about the MK20 and M110 being converted, but I hadn’t thought about doing the same with belt feds. Given the much shorter barrel life of 6.5CM I would think that would be too high maintenance to be practical, but maybe SOCOM has found a solution to that. It’ll be interesting to see how that concept develops.
@@InferiorRifles the way some of those guys shoot, I'm not sure the barrel life is as important on the MG's. Already built-in to the equation that they'll burn barrels at such a high rate that even a 50% increase might not mean much to them . I kind of doubt it's that much difference compared to M80a1.
@@jamesbridges7750 unless they’re doing something to increase the barrel life (such as loosening the barrel twist) they’ll potentially have to change out barrels 2-4 times more often with 6.5CM. I’m not saying they don’t have the capabilities to do so, it just seems like a lot of cost/effort just for a flatter shooting cartridge. But again, I’m not privy to all of the details.
@@InferiorRifles not sure what FN has going there either, but they did mention significantly less wear on the other components of the MK48 which is an issue with the 7.62 guns. They usually have a much wider tolerance for MG velocity and accuracy for barrel wear. As far as being worth it - 40% increase in hits inside 400 and over 100% past that with a 33% increase in range. May be that they're betting on plastic cased ammo making it less of a sacrifice, or could just be OK with it- modern MG barrels in particular it's just the price of the barrels not so much downtime like you have with rifles. Not arguing for or against, but it's what's in the playbook. Wait till we see what Big Army runs into with their new 6.8 guns- now that's gonna be either a total disaster or a miracle of modern engineering! Can't wait ! Hahaha
@@jamesbridges7750 not disagreeing with anything stated, you’re definitely right about less parts wear on other components of the weapon since 6.5 generally generates a slower cyclic speed than 7.62X51. With a brand new barrel I’m sure the increase in hits at longer distances will be a huge advantage; but that accuracy will quickly degrade as heat causes damage to the rifling. Now will it degrade to the point where it has equal or lesser performance than 7.62X51? I have no idea. I just know that a lot of guys with 6.5 bolt guns have “trainer” 308 barrels (or complete guns) to avoid wearing out their Creedmore barrels quickly. I guess we’ll see how the concept holds up in real-world applications; hopefully they can make it work
Hey man. I appreciate your dedication to cloning. Well done. Question; does your stock have significant wobble side to side. I just got one and the stock is unacceptably loose side to side. Curious if that is common.
5:31 I know that range you’re at! It’s a small world. Good to know you’re local. Great videos and info
I had the opportunity to buy the surefire scar can, an went with a fa762ss instead. For a scar 17 and m40a6.
You have some really cool clone rifles man. I’ve really been enjoying your videos.
I use a oss on all my scars and been very pleased so far. For some reason, I like shooting it on my 16 the most. Almost zero recoil with S&B ammo.
Great videos so far! We need more clone info on RUclips so people can be educated.

Awesome video
may I ask if that is a cerakote or rattle can. Thanks for the video
I absolutely tuned my gas with pmm gas jets.
Fantastic job. Subscribed.
Gorgeous.

Mine does not. Solid as can be
@@InferiorRifles thank you :) guess I'll Make a call to fn America
Great video
Now you just need a fancy clip on and a RAPTAR
In other words, the monetary equivalent of two more MK20s
@@InferiorRifles a small price to pay to be extra cool on Instagram
Great video!!!
whats the difference between the clone and the real mk20?
The anodizing colors on the issued mk20s were a little different.
Is that suppressor commercially available?
They’ve been discontinued for a couple of years now, unfortunately.
Which suppressor and optic is correct to be used on 17s?
17s used an FN suppressor and have been seen with Elcans and NXS 2.5-10x24s, among other optics.
The most gucci clone correct suppressor is the AAC SCAR-H SD.
Do you have a link for where to get that exact bipod?
It’s a Harris 6-9’’ notched SBR-M Bipod, they’re pretty easy to find online. You’ll have to buy the ADM QD mount and the pod-loc separate
