I haven't heard the Tw5 13.5's from JL Audio yet but compared to several other shallow mount subs, these TW3's blow them all out of the water. I have two of these in 10's and the only regret I have is not going with 12's. You can't tell these are not conventional subs, these dig pretty low.
How do these compare to something like a 10w7 in terms of sound quality, depth of response, etc? I know the w7 would be louder but do these get low enough?
So if you just look at the stats, the 10w7 has a higher power handling, broader frequency response and slightly higher sensitivity. It’s got 30-35% more excursion too. I think it’s probably safe to say the W7 would out perform the tw3 in most respects if you have the space to fit it.
@@CarAudioNow how would the one 12” W7 in the ported fare against two of the 12” w3’s in a sealed with the same JL 750 powering both? Trying to avoid taking up so much of my hatch space and back of my car when my seats are folded down and traveling with my dogs. That w7 ported box is quite large.
It's worth it imo. These subs slap harder than some full sized subs without taking up a lot of space and it's good enough that there's no TW3 V2 because this outperforms the W3 that it's supposed to be the shallow counterpart of

I agree, I came from the 13TW5v2 to a 12TW3. The 12TW3 is way better

yea this is a super cool sub but not $500 cool. if they some how made this for 200-250 id be all over it but not 500
