Thank you, that saved me a call to the local engineers. It was the HST pedal switch on ours. I love that they put it just where all the mud flings up from the back wheel.
My PTO safety switch has also slipped backwards over time, and I fixed it after watching your great video. You saved me an expensive call-out. Many thanks for taking the time to make such a helpful video!
Wanted to thank you for posting and leaving this video up. I have been struggling with a BX2200 not starting for several days and from your video I was able to figure out the PTO safety switch was just barley engaged. I lubed the PTO shaft and I noticed the safety plunger wasn't moving when it came in contact the metal tab on the shaft. I lubricated the plunder and worked the PTO shaft back and forth several times and I noticed the plunger was sitting up higher than before. I tried to start the tractor and it started right up so thank you very much! You saved me several hundred dollars the Kubota dealer would have charged. Thanks again Ron
No problem Ron, that's why I made the video. Appreciate you watching and giving me the feedback. Consider a Super Thanks since the video saved you money! It helps others find the video easier and helps me out as well.
May nothing but good things happen to you in life!!! My tractor shut down with a full load of compost in the bucket and you just saved my ass. It was an out of wack PTO switch.
Well Mr Kubota Fixit you put me bang on the right track so i went back found all the plunger switches & one was sticky, gave it a rub and tug PRESTO gosh never thought i was so happy to hear the clattery diesel crank-up. I was so close to trying to put it on a trailer and off to the $120 hr Kubota repairer. Don't know where you live but would buy you a beer or any day of the week. Cheers from Nanda Farm South Australia
Thanks for taking the time to make this video. This is a good and worthwhile video if you’re having crazy intermittent starting issues that are related to switches not functioning. I have a Kubota GR2110 and the thing has been driving me crazy. I can tell it’s in the safety switches somewhere because when everything is satisfied it starts right up and stays running. Now I know where to start poking around. Thanks again!!
hey mr colt...thanks so much for your time.i was in a bad spot ,the neautral forward reverse safety switch was my problem, but you got me going.we have gone safety and emision crazy,so many devices to make our equipment stop. we need one master switch to bypass every thing and get us out of bad spots.regards TW canada,s west coast
I agree! Glad you got going. The military has a switch that will do this for combat situations. I our generation of equipment is in the "growing pains" phase of all this type of stuff and down the road it will be much better, similar to how the first power windows & things were terrible. Could be just my optimism! Thanks for watching, it helps support my channel so I can make other helpful videos. Getting the feedback & know it has helped someone makes my day!!
Thank you for saving me 6 hours! I checked the contacts under the seat and and then the PTO behind the rear wheel, and it was exactly as you described. 5 minutes and a PHILLIPS screwdriver and I was off and running! Great video and thanks again for saving me time and money!
Same here. I was freaking out as I was in the middle of a job with the bucket full and poof. No start. Exactly the same switch. Thanks for this great video.
Thanks for pointing all this out. I just started to have a starting issue with a new BX-25 that I bought back in 2008. These switches are for the lawyers and birds!
@@CallMeColtLLC Finally got my BX-25 running again, after yanking out the starter and taking it to the dealer. The starter was good. It was the friggin PTO safety switch. The dang thing slid back and had to be slide forward and re-tightened. This is the second time this switch caused me problems!
Hi Colt, thanks for this video, you saved me heaps of hours tracing the problem with my Tractor. The switch associated with the PTO was not engaged with the leaver. THANKS again
You saved the best for last in my search for answers. I changed my battery and "zzztt" wrench made contact between + and - . The fuse you mentioned at the end is it. Thanks!
I would just like to send a big thank you from Australia for posting this, was very helpful and saved my butt on the day. I had missed the one under the hydrostatic pedal, on the off chance I tried Great God Google and there it was...thanks again.
Thank You for such a greatly informative video and hopefully saving me alot of time with my little bx24,headed back out to try and get her back running. Have a good one!
Thx buddy, I have a BX25D basically has similar sensors and I used your video to locate and test each switch. Thx for the heads up on the throttle inhibitor switch as this is the one that needed adjustment. All fixed 👍🏻
Thanks for video. Getting ready to look for intermittent start problem. Pretty sure it's one of those switches not bypassed. Also will look for glow plug issue. Need to jiggle switch wires to get them to work.
Safety switch probably came loose and just need adjustment. Quick and easy. If your glow plugs are not working at times, you may have a ground issue from the key switch. Maybe why you have the start issues at times at well. Last thing could be sticking relays. Just a guess.
I have an L3710 that's been driving me nuts with intermittent starting. I'm almost certain the issue is a switch adjustment as suggested by your video. The trick is locating and getting access to those switches. Thanks for posting!
That switch at the front of the seat that you said you didn't know why it was there is for the rear PTO. You start the tractor then flip the seat up and you can use the rear PTO for like a chipper or what ever you are running.
It took me 4 hours, multiple videos, trouble shooting one thing at a time. This was my problem. PTO switch was out of alignment and not being activated. Once it was lined up the engine started. 👍🏽
Thank you! Mine was the pto switch also. The other lever for switching diffent pto outputs got bent and was stopping mine from pressing the pto "disenged" switch
Thanks for safety switch locations! Mine won’t start without jumping starter. Got a love all the sorry plastic body that cracks and falls off. My dad bought this one new. I had bought a b7100 new before that but it is steel body parts. They really shot themselves in the head with the plastic. Very disappointing!
@@CallMeColtLLC not yet. I am going to look at all those safety switches now that I know. I took it to dealership last year, they cut the wiring and spliced back on the seat one. It worked awhile then started not starting again. Going to look tomorrow but My money is on that hydrostatic button. They hide them well!
I have had a problem with the PTO switch not making a connection before. This time I was trying to start my 1850 and it stopped cranking . The fuel pump is working but the starter is not cranking. When I went to start it this morning it was cranking several times using the glow plug not matter where I positioned the throttle it did not start. Thanks for showing the locations of the switches. Especially the starter polarity one.
I checked all the things you mentioned and it started. Now I just don't know which sensor or wire it was lol. This is the 3rd time it has done this recently.
If it's a switch, it's probably one that is only lightly getting pushed & the vibration & flex of the tractor is just enough to make it not pushed enough to let the tractor start.
Yes. You would need to see if the switch is normally and open or closed switch. Then simply connect the wires together if it is a closed switch when being pressed, or disconnected and remove the switch. But honestly, if you just make sure they are tight and adjust once, they will be good for a very long time. I have put over 600 hours on my tractor since I made this video and have not had one issue since.
@@CallMeColtLLC similar to you I bought a BX2350 with about 500 hours. I put about 50 hours on it and then started having similar issue. I've found that the PTO switch is actually disconnected and taped over (apparently for quite some time) and the seat up sensor at the front left of the seat isn't even being engaged by anything. I think my culprit is the neutral switch that you mentioned is so hard to get to because when I wiggled it a bit the tractor actually tried to start finally. Problem though is that switch was so fragile and brittle it broke.
we have a BX1860 that isn't starting. when we turn the key we don't get any activity on the dash (lights or gauges). would that be consistent with this issue? is there a way to test if this is the problem before ordering new switches? ty
Safety switches will not cut power, they only prevent fuel delivery or initial cranking. If you have no power at all, I'd suspect something like the main fuse or your key switch.
@@ezyjack826 no problem. Glad it was helpful and hope you get running soon. Nothing worse than a downed tractor! Consider a Super Thanks, it helps my channel grow in search results. 😎
Found you video, but also noted that the Kubota looks almost the same as my Mahindra Max28XL. Why is always some little switch that kills these things. Man way too many safety switches.
