Fuack is thwack with Th-fronting. It's a common manner of speech in certain dialects. It's why you hear Michael Caine say things like "Firty Fousand dollars" And yes, there are Asian dialects with this quirk
Some of these get obscure though too, like that fire goat is a direct copy of a pokemon fangame pokemon. There's some based off of beta pokemon and some almost direct copies from other franchieses like yokai watch.
The piplup comparison is lame. A penguin is going to look like a penguin. The fact that its blue is the same reason piplup is; they're both water types. Every water Pal is blue, so the water penguin guy is also blue. Guarantee you Nintendo wouldnt have a case with that one, you cant copyright blue penguins
Yeah, how tf did Mozzarina (just a cow) end up in the plagiarism column when his explanation for several others in the original category was stuff like “it’s just a sheep” or “it’s just a penguin”??
@@andrewhansen-mcclellan7923 Because he decided to throw in other, completely different series in for a few of the choices. Otherwise it would be in Original, despite how bland Mozzarina, despite the fun name, is.
Mau is literally just an Egyptian Mau which is an exotic breed of cat famous for its unique personality and appearance. Mau is pretty generic because the gold jewellery just screams ancient Egyptian fashion which makes sense.
Especially when we have other distinctly Egyptian designs like Anubis (the only one I've personally seen so far but I've barely started) it's establishing a theme.
the mention of elizabee needing historical knowledge of elizabeth I to get the reference is crazy considering Queen Elizabeth II died less than 2 years ago...
I mean, the only penguin pokemon i can think of are the Piplup line, Eiscue (much closer to the irl inspiration), and Delibird- Eiscue I could argue, but it's not close enough due to it's signature Ice-head gimmick. Mantine though, as a specifically *flying* manta ray? Same antenna-like things on it's head? Mix some Togekiss in there with the more rounded "wings", lil round feet, and lighter colour pallet- you got that Pal.
And how fuack is just a duck/platapus so its okay, but the cow, a literal cow...is lawsuit tier? Same with cremis, vixy, and nox. He says vixy is okay because "its just a fox design", but claims cremis, which is just a smaller different colored vixy, is 100% lawsuit. Same with nox, which is one of his worst comparisoins "It looks like eevee if it had a ghost evolution", sorry, but you cant say "your honor, if we did make a ghost form of this character, it might look like nox, so its our design!"
Pokemon didn’t create the idea of a Gold coin + Cat it’s based on the Japaneese beckoning cat also known as Money cat, lucky cat, welcoming cat, happy cat (dude has a lot of names).
Now that i think of it, Meowth and Mau are 2 distinct ideas. Meowth is based on japanese Maneki neko, while Mau is meant to be a sort of "Egyptian cat"
Exactly, "Egyptian Mau" is actually a cat race which is the race "Mau" is based on. There is nothing in common between Meowth and Mau except both beeing just cats
@@nicz7694 there is also the "money/coin and gold" aspect but that pal seems to be based on how ancient egyptians worshipped cats show in this case by the cat being covered in egyptian looking gold jewelry vs the chinese/japanese(idk the exact origins) lucky cat statues(that hold a coin) meowth is based on so they are both "cats that have to do with money" but both with wildly different historical/cultural origins
To me it just seems all these people are forcing comparisons between pokemon and pals, 99.9% of them look nothing alike, bro saw a tail that resembles evee and said "yeah its just eevee". Most of the "potential lawsuit" pals have almost nothing to do with the pokemon they're compared to. An example is at the timestamp 14:00 , I can see the fin, but how does that prove anything? the results are not even remotely close to the actual final product, so why bother?
The fire horse is just a Kirin. A lot of the monsters you placed on suspicious are from japanese mythology and folclore which Pokemon draws inspiration too as well which is also public domain
@@Gfp1995 Then it's what? The enormous stretches the guy made throughout the video? Only the one compared to Eevee is correct. The guy literally put the cow that we see in any ranch game as a copy of Pokemon
1:58 Oh man, remember AcornDuck (that fan-speculation for what Oshawott's silhouette could be)? That's what Fuack reminds me of! 4:07 Reminds me of Ditto and Seedot. 34:12 "My Neighbor Electabuzz" literally has Gengar's face 35:29 Not just Silvally's crest, but the ring around its abdomen looks very Arceus-inspired. 35:43 Ceruledge/Armarouge/Palkia Origin Forme fusions 36:10 That thing literally has Suicune's face shape and Articuno's head crest.
That Celeray and Mantine comparison is not really fair. They're literally both just Manta's. Those are what manta rays look like. They aren't exactly ripping anything off.
yeah, Ive been saying, any pal that is just - an already existing animal, that just so happens to also have a Pokemon designed in similair way is not really a ripoff, albeit lazy from both pokemon and palworlds side
Agreed, the best way to look at it os how many ways there are to color and theme pals. Making a sea dragon blue is an obvious choice. Some of the electric ones are also too high. Showing electricity as a flash is obvious, a flash is yellow, and warning signs usually are black and yellow. On the other hand i would have put way more from the original idea tier to the inspired by tier. Because many don't pass the above test.
With the sheer amount of Pokémon that exist it would be interesting to see a challenge where artists try to design their own creatures and then see how many of them look like a ripoff of a Pokémon.
I think there are many "challenges" similar to that, where RUclipsrs based around Pokémon invite other people (who don't know much about Pokémon) and show them either a real Pokémon or a Fan Made one and they have to guess if it's a real Pokémon or not.
Exactly what i was thinking. If you use a „similar“ artstyle for your creatures it will be inevitable to have some looking similar to the 1025 Pokémon there are. Though a few really looked TOO similar
i thought the same. Especially if you put on the elemental theme in addition. With over 1000 Pokémon and a similar art style its bound to have some overlaps. Some are really too similar, but I don‘t agree fully with the tier list in that regard. Some are imo just common associations. like the grinning cat face. the yellow eyes are also similar from the pokemon to the grinning cat in the disney alice in wonderland movie and using triangles for teeth… well that‘s not uncommon as well. btw: i never played palworld only pokemon up until sword/shield. but lost interest in the games even before that generation.
They don't really look similar to be completely honest. The design inspirations are clearly similar but the actual art style is way different. It's sort of opposite from Palworld, who uses different design inspirations for the most part (ignoring Anubis and a few others) but uses a very similar art style as Pokemon and straight up just copies little bits and bobs from different mons, like Azurrobe and Primarina.
You can tell he got tired of putting the effort of researching designs later down the line and really kills the tier list completely from his own demotivation
What research? He called Grintale a copy of Galarion Meowth.........he hasn't even seen Alice in Wonderland before, if he did research then that means I have 5 Ph.Ds

any pals whose description is " X animal + Y element" shouldnt even be questioned, like, dude, its the most basic form of creature design, not to mention the straight up normal animals who have a colour palette that matches their type
@@irmiwolf I mean when there's literally a thousand pokemon you can only stray so far from designs that have already been done while still making them look like animals.
not *exactly*. staraptor and it's pre-evolution starly are based on white-cheeked starlings, as the first half of their names suggest. staraptor is a mix of a starling and an unspecified bird of prey, most resembling a hawk or falcon. "raptor" is a blanket term for many distinct bird of prey species.
See, everyone says kilimari copies inkay and tbh, i dont see it. They are both a small squid. Look up vampire squid and you'll see its honestly more closely designed after that then the pokemon
This. So many 'copies' from this list are actually just based off of the same or similar animals or mythological creatures and legends. These pokemon fans would have more people on their side if they were actually unbiased in their analysis.
Seems like you're only familiar with later gens for some godforsaken reason. Lifmunk is so obviously Leafeon and Pachirisu it pains you missed it. Belongs in OC Galewing is just like a recolored Mega Pidgeot Kelpsea is just boring Dratini with Lapras' fat body Hangyu literally has Chimeco's eyes, not just the body shape. @@psycoNaughtplaysMCPC I mean, I can kind of see how you see Darkrai in that Pal, but there plenty of other edgy cartoon-ish characters/creatures that have that same color palette and aesthetic. The white wisp on the top, yeah that’s a little suspicious, but I’d say that’s more akin to Mega Absol than Darkrai. However, I’d say the only thing they’re really “copying” in that pal is the head. The rest of it does not look like Darkrai in the slightest
I agree with the majority of these tier rankings, but honestly, I feel like there ought to be a split for a tier of "you can't copyright something so generic". And also, a small category of "Wait no, this is a digimon instead." Doing detailed analysis of each pal like this individually makes me realize how many subconscious color schemes I've absorbed over the years and small design elements.
I had the exact same thoughts of "too generic to be copyrightable" and "digimon class". I'd have also liked a category for "actually good designs", there are like 5 of those that would be nice to highlight as something positive.
I don't think a single thing in this video is real stuff, it's more like a parody of all those twitter people who compare two different designs of a cartoon cat and say it's carbon copy.
you put a fire fox in “just an animal” tier but proceeded to imply a tree dwelling primate that is covered in leaves from said trees is copied from pansage when pansage isn’t even the first one to do that
what about the flying manta ray which was done many years before pokemon even existed, by the game series which literally invented the genre of having a large amount of collectable monsters
You want to hear something funny? Pocketpair made another game called Craftopia that has animal capture in it, but the animals are just normal animals, like cows, giraffe, elephant, aligators, etc. I feel likemaking any cartoon version of an animal is a risk, because someone somewhere else makes an animal cartooney then you have the risk of being accused of plagiarism.
The silliest part of all this is that many of the "too close for comfort" designs could've been further differentiated by just not copying the color scheme on top of similar design elements/inspiration.
legit a good handful of these would be original enough if they just changed the color schemes, i think they designed it like that with purpose to farm the inevitable controversy the same way andy and leyley put in incest so the outrage would spread the word
The question is, why did the devs not bother doing just that? The AI theory seems more convincing to me after watching this. It's like they trained ai by inserting all the official pokemon designs. Easy for the artists to pick the best mashups it then created, and use them as "inspiration".
To be fair this isn't a fully released game ... So if Nintendo came and called it copywrite material all they would have to do is make those changes to be more distinct

I think "Fuack" is an onomatopoeia for an impact. Like "Thwack". The pal deck entry for them seems to indicate they like to body surf at high velocities, and the impacts from such can be lethal.
Agreed, some of these were quite a reach to even compare. Like the 2 squids don't look alike. It's just two cute lil guys. Or even Grintale. It's GrinTALE. This was literally based off the the Cheshire Cat, with the color, the eyes, and the smile. To say they took that from pokemon is ridiculous, if anything pokemon took it from wonderland lol. There's sooooo many pals that were taken from mythology too, the names and characteristics describe that. yet he's here still trying to compare it and put it into sus tiers. I think there's a lot of confusion from people who don't really know the true origins of a lot of designs and ideas they're crying about and claim it's a pokemon ripoff, when pokemon themselves also ripped it off from something else half the time XD Don't get me wrong, there ARE some very clear ones that looks super inspired and "copied" from pokemon, but really a lot of these on the list were a bit of a reach.
Absolutely. I felt like I was going insane watching this. One minute he notices visual motifs and the next he passes them off as generic. Then at 14:00 odd he puts the purple lizard in the suspicious category because it reminds him of the 'inner city' vibes of two pokemon that aren't reptiles. Man's free associating.
@@princewhiff Dude I thought the exact same thing when he got to that purple lizard. You can't put it in the sus tier when they just share a "vibe". They look nothing alike, not the same species or anything. How do you plagiarize a vibe? Don't get me wrong theres a lot of pals/pokemon that DO share a LOT of similarities. And I do agree with a fair amount of these. But lots of these are just reach, grasping at straws that aren't even there. Like Pyrin is Rapidash? Why? Cause they're both fire horses? Pyrin is literally a Kirin(qilin for chinese) from Japanese mythology which is known as a dragon/unicorn/deer hybrid thing that's covered in flames. Plus the name I mean c'mon, Pyr (fire), Pyrin, Kirin. Like you can't get much closer. And if you look up a Kirin it's almost exact. This is 1000% a copy of mythology, not a rapidash lol. So unless pokemon owns rights to asian mythologies, they're also ripping it off with their rapidash. Oh and that candy one too, like what? Wooliepop is a cotton candy dog. Alcreamie is not a dog... and it's whipped cream. You can't compare these two lol. Also, if you're going to say that Ribunny is Sylveon because of the ribbons regardless of their species, then using this videos logic I would argue that Lifmunk is basically Leafeon regardless of species. I agree that it's frustrating to see him notice certain similarities then like completely ignore others, or try to claim/create others that just aren't there. Also I've learned that you apparently can't have any cute fox looking thing without claiming it to be eevee lol.
Rayhound is based on Greyhounds. Which are the fastest dogs there are. They literally live to race and can get depression if they aren't allowed to. Fast things are often associated with electricity. That one belongs in the Same Idea tier at best.
Pyrin is actually based off of a Chinese mythological creature, called a Kirin it’s pretty much a lightning horse, but they use the prefix py as In pyro cause it’s pretty much a fire version if you look up a picture of how they’re described and how they’re drawn, it’s practically one-to-one no copyright

@@allxtend4005 Ya know the cats are literally not based on the same thing, the palworld one is based on Egyptian stuff while Meowth is based on a specific japanese luck figurine. They're not even the same continent.
I actually really like the design of Pyrin as, from what I can tell, is based on 2 things: 1. The mythological beast Kirin. Its commonly depicted in East Asian culture and has a resemblance towards deer/horses. I would assume this is the "-in" in Pyrin. 2. Lu Bu/Red Hare. Pyrin's two long strands on the head seem to be an homage to the Chinese warrior Lu Bu from the Warring Kingdoms era, as he is commonly depicted with those same feathers/hairs protruding from his helmet. His iconic mount was a horse named Red Hare. Even Pyrin's paldeck entry lists the reference.
Yeah none of them look anything like Pokemon and Nintendo and Co would lose any lawsuit here. Pokemon is dead and Scarlet and Violet is roasting its mutilated corpse. Im honestly pretty upset you said the fire horse is similar to rapidash, but didn’t mention that theyre based off the horsemen of the apocalypse more specifically war
I'm actually pretty certain it's based off of a Chinese mythical creature (but I'm not Chinese so I don't know the name) because it has black scales like a dragon. And Pyrin also has scales.
Fire horse is an extremely common design trope. I feel like I personally need to do one of these tier lists because I KEEP seeing people siting Pokémon designs that are actually just very old tropes. My tip is that if it’s also in Dungeons and Dragons, they’re totally in the clear. See Nightmare for DnD’s local “horse on fire”.
Lets also think of the ramifications here: "fire + horse = pokemon". No FU it doesn't, you can't own the most basic and generic of design ideas lol. The idea that one game did something as simple as "used animal + element" or "based design off of existing thing" means they suddenly own that idea or any adaptions is just....honestly hella dystopian. Might as well just sell us all to Disney now.

Piplup I'm guessing is reference to that penguin... The non king one. Again, theme coloured penguin. Not a rip. Vulpix covers about 1/3rd of all if you don't include the tails. Perhaps the ice fox, since vulpix has several tails and a generic fox shape. Yveltal doesn't really look like it, but i think it's animated much like the fire bird that was claimed original? I don't know
Think the worst is the bellossum like pal...and then people throw in two more Pokémon and say they blend them together like wtf Pokémon doesn't even come up with OG designs from their own older pokemon....same with the garbage about copying the idea of a dot eye which is flipping ridiculous.
A lot of Pals you put in suspiciously similar or OC are heavily inspired by cultural folktale or literature that both Palworld and Pokemon took from and some are literally based from different animals. Grintale is based on the Cheshire cat, Pyrin is based on a kirin, Felbat is a vampire, Mozzarina is just a cow and it looks nowhere near that other cow you just compared it with.
I love how it's name is Grimtale too, like Grim's Fairytales. Pyrin had me slapping my head, cuz that wasn't a zebra. Felbat though, definitely just Darkrai. Lol Pretty sure Mozzarina was a joke.
using the same concept is not the same as taking similar design elements. You can recreate the same yokai-esqe concepts in completely different ways if you wanted to.

It's funny to me that you often go for a comparison with a newer gen pokemon. A fire pony is for me immediately a ponyta/rapidash. And the plant Pal at 10:10 is just belossom. The pattern I see is that a lot of the time they mixed 2 pokemons
@p.as.in.pterodactyl1024 No, it isn't. People are getting delusional over this game lol. Bellossom is not primarily red and green and is not based on a thorny rose bush. Bellossom is a cutesy hawaiian dancer girl who is meant to represent a young, shy person finally coming out of their shell. The pictured Pal is thorny red and green bush girl that presumably does slave labor or something.
I was genuinely surprised lifmunk was deemed "original" when it looks *so much* like leafeon. And I agree that they often mixed two pokemon, there's something about Catvia that just *Screams* pokemon to me, like it's a mix of Meowth and Clefable or something. It's one of the Pals that look like a region variant of existing Pokemon. Also maybe it's cause I watched Hazbin Hotel recently, but Tombat looks like Husk to me.
22:26 It's a weird Gliscor with a Regieleki animation I'm shocked no one's noticing the animation here 31:48 Bird form Mega Salamence 13:40 Terrakion OC. It's very reminiscent (imo) 34:52 That one sorta looks like a Corviknight, very distinct design though. 35:42 Reminds me of Ceruledge. Again, not a clone and there are plenty of knight-based 'mons, but that's just what I saw that I believe you missed. The two of those knight things are very close to the idea of Armarouge and Ceruledge to me, however.
7:52 It's an Egyptian cat. It just straight-up looks like Bastet in full animal form. There are a lot of Pals that are based in mythology and religion, even more (as a percentage) than Pokemon. Some of the ones near the top are really not legitimate for a lawsuit simply because Game Freak cannot own the mythology or religion on which they're based. And some of these are just "Oh, they have the same helmet!" and it's like... a helmet. That you would find. On European battlefields. Very commonly. Again, not something Game Freak can claim to own.
Grintale, both the name and the eye and mouth design are a reference to the Chesire cat. Honestly I think the design would need it's own tier: Different idea, same execution.
@@RealLifeIronMan Except that when you closely compare the eyes of the 3d models they are in fact different shapes and coloration and not a rip from Galarian Meowth, hence my statement.
@@PivotCyroy I respect your perspective, but the shape and coloration differences in the eyes are too minor to my mind. But I can see where you are coming from.
Honestly, if you create a monster catching game with over a 100 monsters. I would be genuinely impressed if some of them didnt look like 1 or 2 of the over 1000 different pokemons
Pretty much my thoughts. Yeah, there's quite a few pals that look like a combination or modifications of an existing Pokemon, but there's currently over 1000 different Pokemons. On the other hand, I feel like Pokemon (at release) looks equally similar to Dragon Quest despite there being nowhere near as many creatures on either sides.
@@kara-mari9909 that’s great. Quivern defiently gave me reshiram influence. Frostallion and it's counter part has some glastrier and spectrier influenece. The silvally one also had arceus golden arch thing on its back just colored black, the cinnamon moth has some mothim influence, alpaca has pink virizon legs lol, green chipmunk has parichrisu vibes but wouldnt hold that against palword, gorirat gave me gorillaboom vibes, bushi has some mawile looks to it, cat witch has mismagius looks to it, paldadis and its counter part remind me of ceruledge and escavalier, surfent gave me quilava vibes, faleris has some corviknight influence to me. Reptyro has a terrakion look to it. Just some things things I thought I'd point out that this video missed to me. Forgive any errors on the palworld names I was just guessing how theyre spelled as I was going.
With some of these, I see a completely different two pokemon being refrenced in the design than what you'd mentioned, which may just be because even the pokemon company lazily rips off their own design and recently have stopped even trying to hide it with the "Forms". But overall, agreeable.
I am kinda suprised he mentioned Brachydios at Blazamut but not Teostra at Blazehowl or Kirin at Univolt. He even said he never saw a electric Zebra before but isnt a electric Zebra not just a electric Horse like Kirin?
yeah some of the ideas taking inspiration from other things not just pokemon, like i can see the monhun influence for the endgame pals. idont know why he specifically said zebra? like zebra is closely related to donkeys. just look at their tail (rando info i caught from a shoujo manga lol) and that doesent have the zebra characteristic from what i can see.
The electric zebra idea is based on the Kirin. It’s a very popular Japanese mythological creature. Kirin is often portrayed as a giraffe, horse, or hoofed animal mixed with a lightening dragon.
Wait the electric zebra is the kirin? I think the fire horse lookes way waaaay more kirin, to the point that calling it just rapidash but black is simply incorrect.

@@eme120ep I mean, Pengullet is just a penquin. The fact that it’s blue doesn’t really make it a Piplup ripoff. It has a very distinct design from Piplup, and they pretty much color all the Pals to match their element, so that can explain the blue.
They're based on real animals but completely separated by the features of how cartoonish they look, the art style as well, this is like saying nothing can plagiarized cuz everything is based on something
@TearsOfThem you can't coin an art style though, plagerism is defined as the genuine theft or copying of a preexisting work. Don't get me wrong, I grew up on pokemon and started playing palworld with my husband with the mindset that the monsters in pals where just rips of pocket monsters. I do often find myself being able to ramble about how some pals look like fusions of 2-3 mons. But the more I see them the more I just think majority are inspired not directly ripped. If an art style could be copy righted, all of anime would be in deep trouble.
Some pokemon yes but there are so many pokemon that aren't closely based on animals and are just fantasy creatures. You can't defend the models where the colors are the same and the models are very similar. It's not easy to copy a standing owl furry archer with autumn colors. Even with pokemon that are similar to animals it's still gonna be difficult to get as close as they do with their designs.

Animals are suing Pokemon for copyright infringement
There are tons of fan games that have done that for decades now! You can find tons of fake Mon on RUclips, art sites, etc
Fuack is quaxly
Can you do the same kind of video, but with Pokemon and Dragon Quest?
They don't really look similar to be completely honest. The design inspirations are clearly similar but the actual art style is way different.

I think this opinion is Fuack-ing wrong.
Hm... I feel many of these choices were made on the fly and he stuck to them. A lot feel like they're not in the right tier to me.
I think there's a lot of confusion from people who don't really know the true origins of a lot of designs and ideas they're crying about and claim it's a pokemon ripoff, when pokemon themselves also ripped it off from something else half the time XD
Don't get me wrong, there ARE some very clear ones that looks super inspired and "copied" from pokemon, but really a lot of these on the list were a bit of a reach.
The guy is forgetting that animal+element will make a similar design.
Like grass+ monkey= grass monkey.
Then make your own tier list. Problem solved.
The super fluffy Eevee is basically what a Normal Type Eeveelusion should look like.

Bro put a grass goat in “oc” because Pokémon did grass goat first, but then put the lava goat in original because “Pokémon don’t own elemental goats” lol
He also put a literal cow with an emoji cat face on lawsuit tier, because it looks too much like a cow, to another cartoon creature where the only thing they got in common is that they are both clearly inspired from cows.
And then only minutes later proceeded to put a noose creature that has exact same type of eyes and body as a pokemon bell creature, - as "original", because the body and face are apparently generic enough to not count as a ripoff....

I also thought that was stupid, but you can’t expected to much from the American education system, he might not actually know who the Queen was.
I actually really like the design of Pyrin as, from what I can tell, is based on 2 things:
There is absolutely nothing in here that would make me think they were directly assets stolen from Pokemon all the people mad at palworld are probably jelly nostolgia blind people who won't grow up and mine in from Pokemon and are in there mid 30s or early 40s.
I'm pretty sure it's a kirin, with is a Japanese unicorn with dragon aspects, sometimes depicted with fire
They are based off the Qilin from chinese mythology.
Vulpix covers about 1/3rd of all if you don't include the tails. Perhaps the ice fox, since vulpix has several tails and a generic fox shape.
Yveltal doesn't really look like it, but i think it's animated much like the fire bird that was claimed original?

A lot of Pals you put in suspiciously similar or OC are heavily inspired by cultural folktale or literature that both Palworld and Pokemon took from and some are literally based from different animals. Reminds me of Ceruledge.
That would be a fair point, but the assets for the eyes and mouth are virtually rips from Galarian Meowth.
But I can see where you are coming from.
when i see it i think of catbus from Totoro
@@dijatoll Very coincidentally the catbus was also inspired by the Cheshire Cat.
Honestly, if you create a monster catching game with over a 100 monsters. I would be genuinely impressed if some of them didnt look like 1 or 2 of the over 1000 different pokemons
Monster Hunter Stories.
thank you finally sum1 said it
The problem is that in palworld, the similarities aren't just "1 or 2" lol
Pretty much my thoughts. Yeah, there's quite a few pals that look like a combination or modifications of an existing Pokemon, but there's currently over 1000 different Pokemons. On the other hand, I feel like Pokemon (at release) looks equally similar to Dragon Quest despite there being nowhere near as many creatures on either sides.
@@irmiwolf literally doesn't count since it's based on a series that ISN'T about monster catching
Nah man 35:44. It's head looks suspiciously like armarouge and ceruledge. Just saying.
Palworld has done the impossible, it got people to accuse pokemon of being original.
I wish they also do the same with games BEFORE pokemon. Many hard truths will be discovered.
@@Anu_was_here dw theyre already making their way to hollow knight and really sticking it to those other stupid triple A companies
@@kara-mari9909 that’s great. Sick of Triple A corporates thinks they are completely original and everyone is copying them.. since they are famous (due to marketing budget ) or they think could get off the hook since their teems got heavily “inspired” by small previous artists/games who can’t afford similar legal costs.
It's because their fanbase is just full of kids who don't know better. They are the original fortnite kids.
@@kara-mari9909 Jeez. Someone's _really_ butthurt and needs a lift in life, lol.
Plus, you're just talking nonsense. ''Hollow Knight!1'' 🤓🥴
The single snaggle tooth is a japanese trope called "Yaeba" and tends to be considered cute/cool. Definitely similar face to weavile though.
Somehow you missed the Blaziken legs on Robinquill. xD
If you showed these to someone 5 years ago they would’ve just assumed they were new Pokémon generations lol
Same idea with the fire one. Pyrin is literally Pyre + kirin. Kirin has the horn and facial hair.
Elect zebra is literally just zebstrika
Univolt-s ability as well allude to it being inspired from Kirin. Lightning Unicorn mythical creature, not a Zebra...
yeah some of the ideas taking inspiration from other things not just pokemon, like i can see the monhun influence for the endgame pals.
idont know why he specifically said zebra? like zebra is closely related to donkeys. just look at their tail (rando info i caught from a shoujo manga lol) and that doesent have the zebra characteristic from what i can see.
So Kyrin is a mythological creature so it’s public domain. Tons of IPs have used it
The electric zebra idea is based on the Kirin. It’s a very popular Japanese mythological creature. Kirin is often portrayed as a giraffe, horse, or hoofed animal mixed with a lightening dragon.
so...rayhound looks like lucario...yuore...joking right?
@@tigerfalco wtf are you yapping about? Who tf mentioned rayhound or lucario? I was talking about Univolt being based on a Kirin.
I clicked on the wrong comment when I was typing the reply, my b
Wait the electric zebra is the kirin? I think the fire horse lookes way waaaay more kirin, to the point that calling it just rapidash but black is simply incorrect.
@@serpentmaster1323 Kirin is most commonly portrayed as having a lightening nature (by Japanese, idk about Chinese depictions).
Tbh i feel like Nintendo is just bored and dont want competition so they decided to try and sue people that had "similar" ideas and it could be cool to have competition but guess what Nintendo ran out of ideas on games so they gonna make some money some how 🤦🏿♀️
To be fair, galarian meowth is just a Cheshire Cat face. It’s possible the assets were copied, but it’s also just an anime version of the picture from the book.
On top of the fact that "shark mouth" is just a generic anime kinda of mouth. Like the one fang type of mouth.
1:43 You say it's not ripping anything off, but that's totally the same design as real life chickens. Personally, if I were mother nature I'd sue.
It rips off Zelda cuckoo design
Unironically the majority of this video in a nutshell.
The amount of pokémon connections that are glaringly obvious and completely missed is paining me 😭😭😭
The biggest one I've seen so far is where he missed the luxray and zarude hybrid
@@mossthebryophyterbiggest one for me was right out of the gate, with the starly recolor 💀
penguins are clearly piplup
@@eme120ep I mean, Pengullet is just a penquin. The fact that it’s blue doesn’t really make it a Piplup ripoff. It has a very distinct design from Piplup, and they pretty much color all the Pals to match their element, so that can explain the blue.
Why has NO ONE mentioned that Azzurro is just Milotic??? Straight-up, a blue Milotic. Like dang, y'all.
As someone who stopped following pokemon after gen 4, i dont mind ripoffs of all the new pokemon cause they werent memorable to begin with
Turns out when Pokemon are closely based on real animals , other monsters in other games look similar
☝🏽☝🏽☝🏽
Nah, I've seen other Pokémon inspired games before, and none of them have designs this bland and similar to Pokémon.
