    As an American, the Yamato is and has been classified as the most powerful battleship ever made. We’re just lucky we didn’t face more as they were still constructing them during WW2. They were wider by a large margin compared to the Iowa class due to the U.S. having to fit through the Panama canal. It took literally multiple ships and aircraft to sink the Yamato, in reality we might have lost Midway if they had 4 of them all made. A lot of Americans need to humble themselves, we could have easily lost if the other Yamato class ships were finished construction. A lot of people don’t realize Japan was a powerhouse during that time and a force to be reckoned with.

      Yamato didn't have 480mm guns, it was 457, also in a way the Iowa has an advantage in several areas the Yamato doesn't. Iowa's technology was superior, including her fire control and she could fight at night. If you went off of protection you'd have a close tie with Bismarck and Yamato. Bismarck with highest quality armour and protection with the exception of poor rudder/propeller protection. Yamato had the thickest armour (up to 2 feet thick on the main turret faces) and excellent flooding prevention scheme with around 1000 water tight compartments.

    • @ReapersKid07
      @ReapersKid07 2 года назад

      About Yamato, while her armor was thick, it was incredibly weak. Iowa was able to punch through it no problem during testing (at point-blank of course, range maybe not) and if she started flooding, there wasn't a very good way to stop it since her damage control was heavily outdated and not at all suited to keep a battleship of her size afloat while damaged.

    Japan: i invented the strongest battleship in history called yamato class battleship.
    Now some facts from yamato class battleship:
    Yamato has the biggest and strongest armory putted in a ship
    She got 1 brother called ijn musashi
    She have 9 cannons with 460 mm
    And more than 100 types of weapows 💀
    She was secretly contructed for 4 years
    And sink in 7 april of 1945 during the ww2
    It was a legendary ship that overcamed any battleship (yes she is stronger than uss iowa) she was launched to the seas in 8 august of 1940 she served to the imperial japanese army per 5 years she got 263 m lenght and she thought 71000 tons and 11m width.
    If u liked it pls like :)

    the bismarck was the strongest ship. It had armor on the walls which was almost 50 cm thick and the guns could penetrate about 6 steel decks on another warship. in one month it sank 25 british warships and it was able to withstand an attack of almost 30 ships for about 8 hours before finally sinking

    HMS Vanguard was not finished until after the war.
    In my opinion, the best British battleships wouldbhave to be either Warspite of the Queen Elizabeth class or one of the King George IV class
