Great tutorial! Helped walk me through mine. Quick tip, on the "tricky" 15mm nut on the manifold you have the bent wrench for, I used a 15mm crows foot and 3/8" drive ratchet. Took 10 seconds to get off! Thank you very much for a very clear and informative video!
You are excellent at explaining what you are doing. I did the EGR delete today after watching your video and had no issues, thanks for taking the time to make it. I think I’m more excited about you teaching me how to properly disconnect those stupid electrical connecters Dodge has been using for years now. I’ve broken way more than I can count.
Appreciate youre thorough walk through the video, just deleted my 17 ram, waiting for exhaust to arrive to see how the new tune works! I originally had it tuned with emmisions intact however, after having to delete two of my service rigs due to DPFs being plugged up, I didn't want to deal with emmisions issues if/when they came on my personal pickup!
What!!! Done alot of work on motors and vehicles but wasn't sure about doing this myself since I've never done it. After watching this I'm ordering the parts right now. Appreciate it man
There’s a video up now talking about tuning, it should give you an idea on what to do. It’s called “let’s talk about tuning part 1” ruclips.net/video/9K15v7UUsBU/видео.html
Dealer deleted my truck and egr yesrs ago but never took the hardware out. This look somewhat easy to do. I think ill make the attempt instead of paying someone. Thabks!
Thanks for ur input on my truck. I pluged in the sensor. Started truck a couple of time it didn't clear. I put the swich in an finished that up started truck an bingo . Its a beautiful thing. No more def or codes. The truck never ran so good. Now to give the truck back to the wife. Next ? Do i do my eco desil. It has 160000 miles on it. Its a 2014
I no longer have a diesel, but I always enjoy informative videos like this and who knows maybe a new diesel will arrive in my driveway after i finish having fun with my hemi gasser.
Great video very easy to follow! Thought about doing this for several years now. Any specifics on prior and post kit install? What else does the truck need, i.e: does computer need to be flashed? So on and so forth. Any recommendations on additional parts needed.
Thanks for this, very well done and easy to follow. I'm looking at getting a newer diesel and with DEF fluid shortages I was hoping this was not as complicated as some had lead me to believe. Take a like and a sub!
Love your videos man, every one of them is perfect. I will say that I was disappointed with my order through thedieseldudes At least to an extent. Let me start off by saying the delete kit did work but there were a few things that I wasn't aware of that I should have made myself more aware of to avoid disappointment. Let's call this self-inflicted disappointment. The first thing I did not care for was the level of customer service after you click the purchase button. As soon as you click purchase you no longer have contact with anyone via phone call about anything including missing parts or delays in your shipment.. they send a massive amount of emails which is all cool and good but every time something said that it was out for delivery the item said final component of your order... Or something to that extent. Just that alone causes complete confusion because what I did not realize when ordering an entire kit is that every single part basically is coming from a different source. Many of the sources of these parts are right here in the lower 48. For some really strange reason The EGR block off and the muffler come together in one order from some inland location here in the lower 48 like Indiana. The two 4-in exhaust pipes that take up the space of the DPF and exhaust filter basically have no instructions on how to best manipulate them into your existing system. I used one of your excellent videos to make a decision to just remove the rear exhaust hangers and leave that part hanging while I inserted the two forward pipe sections together and then fight to get that rear muffler back on instead of having to cut something like what you do in your video. That's a great idea it's just that I wanted to keep my entire DPF and exhaust filter complete in the event that I ever go to sell this again and need to reinstall or if push comes to shove. The muffler and EGR delete didn't arrive until 7 days later after the tuner. I waited as long as possible but ended up just installing the 4-in pipes connected into my stock exhaust to quasi straight pipe it so I could get the truck back on the road and working. It just would be nice if they had a better system of communicating exactly when and where these parts are coming from so you could plan your project better. It was my false assumption that the two straight pipe sections and the muffler would be in the same exact box. I think that's a legitimate guess but it backfired on me of course. All of this being said it's kind of bitching so far about my lack of preparation and the communication on their part after the sale. Having to wait one or two days to get technical support just to find out where your package is at only to be told that it hasn't left the shippers building yet... Then to have them call whoever that is to get the thing out the door only by my prompting is a little frustrating. And yes, I called customer service no less than 20 times over the course of 2 days and I never received a reply of course because that's not the way they do business after you click purchase. As far as the ECM program goes with the EZ link it was anything but easy. Upon opening up the program to try and install my tune All I saw were 28 different random named tunes of which zero of them made any sense compared to what I was told I was purchasing. I was told that I was purchasing a zero horsepower, 35, 75, 100 or 150.. can't remember the last one but I had no intention of using it. I had to wait two days in order to get the ECM program company to answer via the app that you have to download on your phone for install just to get them to answer which tune I was supposed to select from this laundry list. My tune happened to be number 17 on the list of over 28... But again there was absolutely no identifiable characteristics that would tell me that I was supposed to choose that one and there was definitely no paperwork or other indication let alone no customer service from the purchase site on this topic. After finally getting the tune installed I had to go through the tuner tech support again to verify exactly what each of the four tunes were. This is when they told me it was zero, 75, 150, 200. This is not what I ordered and when I question that I was just told then I should use two numbers zero, one and two. The exact opposite of thrilled so far. I could have purchased the exact same two-piece 4-in straight muffler on Amazon, identical one, for $70 delivered instead of $150. The EGR delete is a complete generic block off kit that can be purchased for $60 on Amazon instead of... Well a lot more than that. The easy link can of course be purchased at any time without any tune on it and then you just need to send it off to someone to get a tune put on. I have no doubt that I could hire the same exact half-ass company to download it from the cloud just like I had to when the tuner arrived empty. That being said, if a person wants to spend the money for reasonable simplicity then sure this is the way to go. However if you want to actually save a bunch of money all of this stuff could be purchased on your own as well now that I've seen how these things go on. I was extremely intimidated but by using your videos alone and some clarity from what should have been previously clarified upon delivery from the manufacturers I was able to get it installed. Sorry, yes I'm just ranting a little bit here but when you spend $2,500 on something I kind of expect $2,500 worth of parts and customer service. My flawed thinking a little bit because I'm used to only doing business with Costco which has unbelievable customer service lol
Good video, wish I had got that kit, no logos, for the coolant hose you loosen the bolts on the side and the hose comes right off so you won’t have to do greasy things lol
Question, previous video you add a 4inch straight pipe exhaust system, removed and discounted the wires from def system and O2 sensors. The elbow to turbo you left on, cause it's a 4inch tube and connected and completed the full straight pipe exhaust system. Now the 02 sensor on the 4inch elbow near the Turbo, did you just cute the wire off and leave the O2 sensor in? I'm have the 2017 Dodgeram2500 6.7 Laramie, and will be ordering from you all soon.. Outstanding videos!!! My first build soon...
Thanks for the video, help me alot during this delete. I just want to be sure I will unplug the throttle valve correctly, is there any video of a bettle angle of what I need to do down there?
Thanks for posting. I have a 2014 Ram 4500. I had it deleted, but he left everything in place. Well having egr cooler leaking issues. Thanks for helping me keep my hotshot truck on the road
Excellent video ! Now you mention both Flo Pro part numbers in your videos, EGR delete and exhaust delete , big thanks. You also mentioned EFI Live for proper “tuning”. I have a 2015 2500 4wd Cummins 6.7. Not interested so much in high horsepower/torque figures but just get rid of that horrible EGR/DEF and DPF... any help on which EFI Live I should order.? Thanks !
Good video! That connection where the egr cooler used to be that leaks…. Is there a better one that you would recommend? I have the same one and it’s now leaking after a year of use. I did use anaerobic grease when I installed it as well.
Those tight manifold bolts just cut the open end off a wrench , throw a length of pipe over it they will come right out same as bolts and studs on turbo no need to cut !! Just a tip brother ,,
I’ve always used efi live but ez lynk is fine. Get ccs tunes (efi live or ez lynk) from dirty diesel customs, they ship Canada and USA. And use DARKIRON5 for 5% off
Great video, I have a 2019 RAM 2500 HD and I do Hotshots, can I delete the DEF on this truck in TEXAS ? And how much will it cost to do all that? Thank you
Hey I have a question. If you have a tuner on your truck. If you leave the Egr still on the truck. Do you have to Unplug the Egr & Throttle Valve? If you don't pull the egr off & put block plates on.
Hey man I live in bc was just wondering what Price I would be looking at to do a full delete on my 2018 Cummins. Just don’t wanna be ripped off when I start to call around to get it done. No looking for any crazy tuning. Trucks just a long hauler and road trip truck
Great video! I have a couple of questions for my 2020 ram 6.7l. I have my delete pipes and tuner but not installed yet. I’m not going to do the egr delete yet due to order issues. What plugs do I need to disconnect from the egr so everything works?
I completely agree any diesel is an excellent engine, as long as there is zero emissions garbage on them. It's sad that the castration of the emissions systems has to be done for them to run the way they were meant to run, breathing free and clear. Without doing this, a diesel engine will be problematic, thanks to our controlling EPA. But what does one do when they get busted for not having any of this garbage on their vehicles?
Like you’re video . I have a 2016 Dodge 2500 mega an 6.7. I DONT. Have a tuner but I believe I have all the cover plates and the bracket that goes on the transmission tube, my question is do I need to have a tune to do the delete?
I appreciate your video but I do have a question about the programming of the EGR delete. Don’t you have to put in the programmer before starting. And does it give you more horsepower and torque. Also what happens when you have a problem with a electrical issue and you have to take it into the dealer for repair.
I just got my 17’ deleted and tuned today.. new truck to me 2 months ago…. I smell coolant when I stopped a few times after I picked it up… don’t see any leaks or anything… could it be residual from removing parts and doing the job? Should I give it a few days to see if it goes away? Subscribed!!! Keep up the great videos
Awesome video thank you… About to do the Autocalv3 on my truck is it necessary to fully remove the EGR or just unplug it ? .. i’m in California and I would like everything to look stock .
Mines been delete tuned for 5 years but the EGR has never been removed. My tuner said I could unplug it if it made me feel better but the tuning deactivates it and it always stays shut.
Great stuff, we all need someone like this to help us out. One question though, do the gaskets on the blocker plates (on the air intake side) stay on when you install the plates? I know, someone probably asked this, but can't find any info on this.
Jerry and Mary Kratz in order to remove the EGR system your ecm will have to be tuned. You will also have to remove your DPF system as well and replace it with an aftermarket exhaust. I have another video on installing delete pipes on a 6.7 Cummins, check it out! Thanks
If i am taking my 2021 6.7 back to stock after having it deleted. Would i install the dpf and egr first then re tune it, or re tune then install all the factory stuff? Probable doesn't get asked a lot but VA will not inspect my truck until its back to stock. Thanks.
Haha that’s awesome! You should watch my “how to replace head gasket” videos then if you like this kinda stuff. Might be more interesting then an egr delete
Want to delete my egr but I’m wondering if a wastegate would be needed? All other turbos I’ve owned would have one right where the egr is being taken off here.
Hey man great videos! Can you do a installation of the EFILive autocal tuner? I have been looking on how to do it but I haven’t found any good videos at all. Thanks! Keep it up!
Question when u do this my guess is u have to have a tuner or custom tuning to keep code from being thrown. A guy I work with just bought a 16 6.7 n is going to do this.
So I've watched a ton of your videos (really love them) I have a 2008 6.7L Cummins, bought my EFI Live loaded everything (with the Patch file first) then the tune file successfully, however after a clean download, my overhead says EXHAUST FILTER FULL---POWER REDUCED SEE DEALER-- THEN SYSTEM OK With no check engine lights just the 2 notifications, everything is completely deleted, any suggestions for me??
If you are in an area where this isn't legal: Disable the EGR Valve not delete it fully just make sure the dang Valve stays closed and just keep the stock Exhaust with the DPF and everything. Doing that will improve MPG and Power already. Relying on EGR as a means to reduce NOx is fucking stupid because EGR is so bad for out engines but for some reason RAM just has horrible emissions systems. Selective Catalytic Reduction aka injection DEF into the exhaust stream before an SCR CAT is the superior way to reduce NOx and actually these systems are getting really good these days with ~90% NOx conversion rate and 97% with special heated scr cats. These days I see more and more emission systems relying on SCR instead of EGR so very recent vehicles (~2020 and newer) use more DEF but deploy less EGR. Way to go foward. Mercedes has really sophisticated systems on their 2.0 Liter diesels which is basically a one piece design encapsulating the regular CAT, DEF injection followed by an SCR CAT plus DPF at the tail end into one compact package that bolts right up to the turbo there isn't even a down pipe anymore. That system is tuned to favor SCR over EGR and to be in passive regeneration for as long as possible simply by keeping the exhaust gases as hot as possible. Thats why everything bolts up right to the turbo. I think their goal is to have a future proof system that's reliable and just works. Euro6 is hitting us hard over here but it forces manufacturers to develop better designs. These Cummins trucks use WAY too much EGR hence why a delete is needed to not have it plug up solid with carbon. They don't have a 9th Injector to boost up temps in the exhaust. And in general I think the DPF is just too far downstream from the turbo to go into passive regeration because I cant imagine it getting hot enough unless full throttle towing for example.
I'm doing the EGR delete on my 2012 ram this weekend. I'm running the bulldog tuner. Do I need to disconnect the throttle plug like you did in this video?
I got a question ❓ I'm getting a code for my 2018 ram 6.7 Cummins turbo. Think it's the variable gate thing. I have 280,000 miles . Should I just replace the entire turbo amd if so. Is stock good or is there a better option. I drive sensibly and occasionally tow 5th wheel camper. So I use the turbo brake. I AM doing a delete and mm3 tunes soon. Maybe same time I do turbo. Thanks

Definitely used the code , im turning both my trucks into off-road monsters lol.

Do u have to disconnect throttle valve if u don't use a tunner
How much is the price to do it on 2017 ram 2500 diesel…??
I'm glad some folks aren't afraid of the epa power mongers and still build these "off road competition use only" trucks that work properly.
Thank you for making this video. I don't know why so many people say this is so difficult to do. You made it look like a walk in the park.
I learned a new term today! Previously, *greasy* meant 'full of grease', now it means 'sketchy AF'. Thanks for that!
U can thank us east coast Canadian Boys for that.its fuckin Greazzy!!!!!!!!
This is by far the best video on deleting I’ve seen
Best delete video on RUclips. Fantastic job and keep them coming!
Best video I learned every time Something on each video. question doesn’t show the check engine light
These motors are GREAT as long as you rip all that EMISSIONS CRAP OUT
Yes it's like puking in your mouth.,Then having to swallow it
Very laid back and on point with what needs to be done. very short but shows all the needed steps
You are excellent at explaining what you are doing. I did the EGR delete today after watching your video and had no issues, thanks for taking the time to make it.
I think I’m more excited about you teaching me how to properly disconnect those stupid electrical connecters Dodge has been using for years now. I’ve broken way more than I can count.
haha glad I could help!
Appreciate it man
This is the most useful video for doing a Cummins egr delete on the internet. Keep up the good work!
Anyone see the bee or hornet on the engine lol
That was a sweat bee 😅.
Yup, bothered me so much 😂
That was a hitchhiker!
The hardware portion looks easy enough, it’s the software that scares me. Can you do an in depth review of that process?
There’s a video up now talking about tuning, it should give you an idea on what to do. It’s called “let’s talk about tuning part 1” ruclips.net/video/9K15v7UUsBU/видео.html
Been looking for a video to be able to follow before I buy my delete kit. This one is hands down the best on RUclips! Thank you!
Dealer deleted my truck and egr yesrs ago but never took the hardware out. This look somewhat easy to do. I think ill make the attempt instead of paying someone. Thabks!
Your music is freaking on point!!!
For the nut on the manifold I use a s shaped 15 mm wrench. Harbour freight worked excellent.
Going to switch to Cummins after watching your video. So much easier and straightforward to work on than my Duramax lol
Definitely the best EGR delete video on RUclips.... awesome video buddy
Flo pro for the win... Made in Canada right down the highway from me here in Alberta

I hope one day a new diesel shows up in my driveway as well haha
Excellent video. Couple more years to go on my 2018 and then it’s delete time for me too.
Thanks for the video. Made it much easier. Glad I watched first. Didn’t drain the coolant and saved a lot of time and I went the “greasy” route too 😂
This is the best egr delete video I’ve seen.Ty for the excellent help.👍🏽
Great video very easy to follow!
Thought about doing this for several years now. Any specifics on prior and post kit install? What else does the truck need, i.e: does computer need to be flashed? So on and so forth.

Very useful and explanatory with details. Thank you for taking the time to make this tutorial. Thats my project for tomorrow.
Thanks for this, very well done and easy to follow. I'm looking at getting a newer diesel and with DEF fluid shortages I was hoping this was not as complicated as some had lead me to believe. Take a like and a sub!
If your in the us states are starting to crack down on deletes tho
@extremerc76 Yeah, I got an older diesel which is exempt from needing these systems in the first place, xD

Thank you! I’ll keep making them!

Great video.
Is it necessary to change exhaust pipes ??
Definitely the best video I've seen for the delete. Thanks
Great video. It walked me right through. I didn’t think I could do this by myself but your video made it easy! Great job, Thank you!
Best video on EGR delete. Great details thanks for the video. Appreciate you.

Thanks for the video, help me alot during this delete.

What’s everything you need to do a delete and tune
I wished I was smarter 😅. I wished I lived closer to you guys. Awesome stuff
Love the GNR song in the background best song ever
Love your choice of music. Great video.
The bent 15mill wrench worked great thank you
Dont know why i watch this lol mimes already deleted... But whatevers nice to see someone else working on stuff. Just subscribe
Haha thanks buddy!
I don’t know who the 22 Douches are that gave this a thumbs down, because this is the most thorough delete on YT. Thanks for sharing.
haha right?? They should have at least commented to let me know what they didn't like!

Love your videos. If I tune using raceme tuner what do I gain by deleting vs just disabling?
Love this video… very informative…… but does any of these deletes (egr, def and grid heater etc etc) do they turn on the engine light or throw codes?
Hey Dark Iron Diesel. What’s the labor hours on truck like this doing the full egr removal kit and full exhaust kit with installing a tuner? Thanks
Those tight manifold bolts just cut the open end off a wrench , throw a length of pipe over it they will come right out same as bolts and studs on turbo no need to cut !! Just a tip brother ,,

Thanks very informative. I’m going to do mine in a few weeks. I’m looking for the software I’m lost on this part.
Appreciate the video - great job
Would this apply to my 2022 as well?
It should although as far as I know you cannot tune a 2022 Cummins yet. And you need to tune the truck to do this.
Yes you have to program the ecm to run without emissions as well as put an aftermarket exhaust on first before you can do the egr delete
Dark Iron Diesel appreciate you getting back to me . I figured I would need a program the problem can’t buy one here in the states, got any ideas ?
You can still get them in the states I’m pretty certain. Is there a local performance shop you can call?
If they removed the egr then ya most likely just residual coolant burning off the turbo and exhaust manifold
Great informational video in addition to the killer soundtrack!
Great video, thank you, question, I know you mentioned EFI, can you please guide me on the right direction on Wich one to delete everything?
Did you ever do a video on how to setup efi live on these 2016 Cummins?
Great stuff, we all need someone like this to help us out. One question though, do the gaskets on the blocker plates (on the air intake side) stay on when you install the plates? I know, someone probably asked this, but can't find any info on this.
That depends on your egr kit. The one I used has o-rings in the blocker plate so you remove the factory gaskets.
Great video, I have 2016 and really thinking about starting the delete process. If I start with the egr first do I have to retune the truck
Jerry and Mary Kratz in order to remove the EGR system your ecm will have to be tuned. You will also have to remove your DPF system as well and replace it with an aftermarket exhaust. I have another video on installing delete pipes on a 6.7 Cummins, check it out!
Thanks
This was great, thanks!
If i am taking my 2021 6.7 back to stock after having it deleted. Would i install the dpf and egr first then re tune it, or re tune then install all the factory stuff? Probable doesn't get asked a lot but VA will not inspect my truck until its back to stock.
Thanks.
Sooooooo much easier than a Duramax!
Great video. Looking at buying a stock 2016 RAM 2500 with 163k miles on it. Would be my first diesel. Appreciate your knowledge.
Thank you for the EGR delete tips and tricks !
Craig Richardson you’re welcome!
Craig Richardson you’re welcome!
Watched the entire video and I don’t own a diesel 😆
Haha that’s awesome! You should watch my “how to replace head gasket” videos then if you like this kinda stuff. Might be more interesting then an egr delete
Best delete video! Awesome music in the background too !
Great great great great great great five star video best one I've ever seen on RUclips
Thanks! Keep it up!
Hey if I ever have to install an auto cal I will! I install my EFI Live tunes with a laptop so it’s a bit different of a process.
Dark Iron Diesel okay thanks! Yea for some reason the company that sent out my EFILIVE didn’t send any sort of instructions for installation.
Great video, what exhaust do you prefer 4” or 5” , also do you have a video on the exhaust removal ?
Thanks for the Video and the detail. I know is not easy to be working with one hand and filming.
Question when u do this my guess is u have to have a tuner or custom tuning to keep code from being thrown. A guy I work with just bought a 16 6.7 n is going to do this.
Subbing just because of how well you walked through this. And because the greasy meme
😂 thanks man
So I've watched a ton of your videos (really love them) I have a 2008 6.7L Cummins, bought my EFI Live loaded everything (with the Patch file first) then the tune file successfully, however after a clean download, my overhead says EXHAUST FILTER FULL---POWER REDUCED SEE DEALER-- THEN SYSTEM OK With no check engine lights just the 2 notifications, everything is completely deleted, any suggestions for me??
If you are in an area where this isn't legal:
Disable the EGR Valve not delete it fully just make sure the dang Valve stays closed and just keep the stock Exhaust with the DPF and everything.
Best video on the 'net for the subject! Thanks👍
Thanks
Hey what about the check engine light after you do delete it will light up. Or you will do something else to chut the light off
Can this still be done with the 2024 cummins?
Thank you so much for this video! Great Job! This will surely help tons of people
