The human side of the opinion that you provide is so valuable. Thanks for staying independent and just buying what you personally want. Especially into 2024, 98% of reviews are thinly disguised marketing advertisements.
Yeah, it's a really good looking Millennium Falcon. The angled stand and prints are the cherry on top. I love Star Wars, but the other Falcon sets are just too big an ask for me. $85 still feels like too much, though. If it had been around $70, it would have felt much more palatable. About the sale thing, many of us won't want to wait for a sale, and I've often seen that by the time LEGO itself puts a set on sale, the set is on the verge of being sold out, or already is. End of life for the product run, as you said. Another thing I'm concerned about, and I'm not sure how LEGO thinks about this, is if they don't sell well enough, LEGO will throw their hands up and say the starship line wasn't successful, and stop making them. If they sell well, prices stay the same or even increase. It feels like a no win scenario.
I feel like you took my thoughts and put them into a comment so perfectly. I agree with everything you just said. I love Star Wars too and want to have some of the main ships and vehicles on display like the Falcon, X-Wing, Slave I, TIE Fighter , AT-AT, etc. but the UCS ones are too big. The minifigure compatible ones are good but once you have a few of them, they start to feel big too. I always thought the original midiscale line was great but it came out at the wrong time. Adults buying Lego weren't as big an audience as they are now. The price is the only thing putting me off and I'll be waiting for a sale but that worries me because I did the same with the diorama sets and some of them only went on sale a few times and I missed them. By the end, one of them got discontinued before I bought it and I paid more than standard price to get it. I also have the same worry about Lego not selling these because they're overpriced and then being shocked in 2/3 years that they didn't sell well so they cancel the line
I was about to say the same thing. If all Lego across the board were staying on the shelves, they might lower the prices. But if this specifically goes unsold, they'll just kill the Starships line which would be sad. Conversely, the Invisible Hand for $50 might get me to pick it up, even if it's just in the hopes that we'll get a similar-scale Venator someday.
I have the play scale set from Solo, and I've ended up putting it in storage after a couple of years as it just took up too much room for what it was & I had other sets I liked better - my wife offered to buy me the UCS Falcon for a birthday present, but again I just thought where the hell am I going to put it? It's too big! This is perfect - I've just completed the Tantive IV so this one will probably be next as I've already seen it for 20% off, if I can't find the Invisible Hand on sale (which seems to be much harder to get at the moment)
I feel like the "chunkiness" of this being at a smaller scale really helps with the suggestion of detail. The larger versions end up looking kind of smooth by comparison. The price hurts...but I did actually buy this set, so I guess it didn't hurt enough.
My brother has the original midi Millennium Falcon and it was greatly loved. It was the only Falcon we could afford so having something like this back on the market is beautiful!
Surprisingly for being the one Millennium Falcon that’s not meant to be played with, it actually looks the easiest to pick up and play with as a ship. Most Lego Millennium Falcons are basically dollhouses, they’re intended for playing inside of instead of picking up and flying around. They’re usually just way too big to comfortably pick up and swoosh around. But this one actually looks like the perfect size for that, which in my opinion makes it a better toy ship, but unfortunately because of the price most kids probably wouldn’t buy this and the people who are willing to spend that money on it would probably just be the kind of people who want to display it and not play with it, which is perfectly fine, but it’s just sad that kids have never had a Lego Millennium Falcon (aside from the micro-fighters and mini models) that they can actually pick up and fly around, and the one time there is one it’s too expensive
I know this set isn’t for everyone. But as someone who hasn’t bought too many Star Wars sets recently, and is still saving for ucs, this set was an insta buy for me. The four quadrant dual level system was kinda weird at first, but the way they click together is very satisfying. No stickers, and a very accurate scale was a joy to build and display. And I agree, the stand was very surprising yet satisfying
So happy to see it's pure prints, no stickers. I hate and loathe stickers. I found a site that sells printed versions of the parts that would otherwise be stickers. Not cheap, don't get me wrong, but when I am especially aggrieved about too many stickers, I spend the extra, wait a few weeks for them to produce the printed parts, and then buy the printed parts instead of using the stickers, which always always stay on their backing sheets unused.
Its definitely expensive for what it is, but vs the UCS or even the minifig scale Falcons, it's the cheapest and still very cool. I have Lego Star Wars sets going back to the original 1999 X-Wing and Snowspeeder sets, and this is the first Falcon I've bought.
I’ve never been into midi-scale Lego stuff before, but I’ve always wanted a Millennium Falcon and I’ve never had a guest house in which to keep one in. But, this one looks fantastic and is the right size to sit on my desk. I think I’m going to have to get this one. Great review! I also love how the stand angles the ship. It makes it look like a dynamic flight shot.
The nice thing is how solid and sturdy it is. My friend gave me the Force Awakens Millennium Falcon, and it was so flimsy and came apart whenever I moved it anywhere that, with their blessing, I dismantled it and made a castle out of it instead.
I’ve been really loving the amount of time Jang’s been spending on discussing his thought process when it comes to pricing and value. It’s so much better than *certain other reviewers* who blindly hate on LEGO for being expensive. Jang’s approach is far more reasonable
"I hope that was of some value to you." Duh, YES! As always! Best reviewer (of anything!) out there! I wasn't too excited (nor unexcited) about these mid-scale ships, mostly due to budget, haha, but now I'm wanting to get this one day (and hopefully fit it inside my UCS Falcon display case?)
$50-60 USD isn't terrible and the molding is exquisite. Problem with the Bandais is they *need* a ton of washing, weathering, and other hand painting & detailing to come even close to box art quality. Straight built they look like prototypes, agonizingly plain. I did simple washes on the atst & Vader's TIE x1, and went much farther with the Red Five you can just see on one of my shelves. Satisfying if you have the time & extra materials. They really need to show straight builds on the box tho; it's false advertising as is.
I think this Falcon is the best of the 3 ships released. Again - Great review and looking forward in getting my hands on this Falcon to display with the UCS one I have.
I think its the nicest midi ship, and will likely sell the best simply because it is the most recognisable. Much like the helmets, I'll certainly buy it but I'll wait till its below £50 on discount. I got most of the helmets for £42ish, and I figure these ships will go there as well.
really good set probably the best of the Midi ones this year, i just need to edit the stand to make the ship tilt a bit more like your custom stand for 2019 model
Great review Jang.., Picked mine up from Myer in Australia on Sale for AUD $ 110.00 = USD $ 73.00. Looking forward to its delivery early this week! I also managed to pick-up the Droideka at Big W department Store this week on sale for AUD $ 68.00 = USD $ 45.00 . That was a "mind-boggling" AUD $ 62.00 saved from the retail price selling currently across the 2 sets on the Lego Store. Look, when lego 'over-price' themselves out of the market like this, they can keep their rewards points ! - It pays to shop around People!
It looks so much better in this video than it did in marketing pictures and on the box. And no stickers is a win. I don't think I hate the chunkyness anymore. However all the Midi-scale prices turn me off. They all need a sale to feel like that should have been the full price. So I will wait until next year on them. The 75257 Falcon is still on my list for this year, it just hasn't had a sale in a long time it feels like.
I tend to agree about having this Millenium Falcon at a price of 75$, even if it's wishful thinking, it would be nice. A bonus feature would have been cool, if you didn't want to put it in the stand, you could build the landing gears and even the laser turrets underneath the ship, but that's just a small nitpick. I would love to pick this one up, the Millenium Falcon is after all, one of the most iconic ship in Star Wars.
Thanks for this review. You've convinced me to pick this up. It does look hefty and in scale with the original shooting model and won't break my bank ..or shelves! I have seen it with a £15 discount here in the UK so I'm off to the store to grab it while I can
the way I think about the variance in representations of in universe vehicles from Star Wars in toy form, specifically Lego, is the same one Sam Witwer talks about Dave Filoni having explained to him. It's all tall tales, told around a campfire. different details every time, the same broad strokes and basic shapes, but the details stand out in different places at different times. It's all real, all of it, and that's the nature of the whole story.
Got mine today for €70 , and I'm honestly blown away with it. This scale, build and display just works on every level. It's my first MF in lego and I can't recommend it highly enough, it's beautiful.
It's $149 in Australia, which is about $30 more than it should be if you converted it from USD. I found it at Big W for $119 and I was okay with that price, but like all Lego I wish it was cheaper
I know it's expensive, but this model is quite possibly the only one which can justify the price. Maybe it's the lack of stickers or the excellent presentation or the nice scaling, but I know that real Star Wars fans won't mind getting this for their collection. As someone who is only slightly interested in Star Wars, this will definitely be my first and only Millennium Falcon. 😊
Gosh, I remember getting the first midi scale falcon for christmas in the 2010s. That was $40. Now, it alone, sells for $65 USED and this contemporary costs $85 (still quite pricy as $40 is only $58-$60 today).
Let’s be honest, people are gonna eat this up. It may still be overpriced but it’s the cheapest Lego millennium falcon plus it’s a proper display model that looks great and is built well. Literally everyone who’s wanted a millennium falcon (which I’d wager is almost all Star Wars fans and even casual fans since it’s the most popular ship in the series) for display who can’t afford the UCS set will be getting this. I’d be surprised if this doesn’t sell like hotcakes.
I feel these midi-scale ones are just absurdly expensive, they look fantastic and I'd love to buy some for myself and my family, but that's just way too much money. The most I would like to pay for something of this size is maybe $55-$60, and that feels like pushing it for me
After all these years, that trans blue flexi-hose at the back is still the best way of representing the MF's thrusters. A good homage to their original, at the very least.
The price is definitely not great, but I hope this line continues. Being able to get display models of these big ships for not UCS prices is really cool. If they made a Ghost in this scale, it would be an easy purchase
Loved this build but the flap under the cockpit does not clip as tightly on mine and will drop down with the slightest of force. I wonder if anyone else has this issue? I am going to rebuild that section again to see if that fixes it. Nice review, as always.
The last midi scale millenium falcon was $39.99usd. That's where we wanted the prices for these midi scale starships. If they were a direct replacement for the helmet line they should have stayed in that price range. Instead it will cost the median worker in Australia 5 hours salary to buy this. I say no thank you. This starship line has missed the mark big time for me.
From the UK, I might've not got this from the cost, but found it at a much cheaper £60 at CostCo, so just picked it up the past weekend (would've been £50 tax free)
$65-70 US is far more fair… that said, this small Falcon looks really good and I’m happy to hear that it doesn’t have any stickers! I will not purchase this at full price - for me, a discount down closer to $65 is absolutely necessary to consider a purchase.
Those gaps when viewed from the top are just horrible. Can't believe I'm the only one triggered by that. 85$ for this? No way I'm buying that. I don't even care about the lack of a minifigure.
Prefer this over the ucs model. For one, this one doesn't require a trip to ikea for new furniture
So true
Literally what I had to do for mine. Then I ended up putting it in the garage because it took up too much room lol
Small and no stickers!?!? Ok this is going to be my first Millennium Falcon!!! 🤘😎
I think it's the dense detailing but I feel most impressed by this one out of the new smaller scale ship display models

Finnaly somoene that doesn't complain about it not having a figure
Why havent Lego done any of the Star Trek ships? Love to have Lego Enterprise on my desk.
I know this set isn’t for everyone. But as someone who hasn’t bought too many Star Wars sets recently, and is still saving for ucs, this set was an insta buy for me. Absolutely love this but it would've been really nice to get some optional landing gear
Brings some nostalgia, coz i remember my first Millennium Falcon being previous generation of midi scaled ship. Loved it
Have a look at the 1/144 Falcon by Bandai if you want a beautiful model kit of the same size. Not cheap but it's pretty much perfect.
$50-60 USD isn't terrible and the molding is exquisite. I think this Falcon is the best of the 3 ships released. Again - Great review and looking forward in getting my hands on this Falcon to display with the UCS one I have.
The cannon on the bottom is missing 🙀 best display Falcon: Kenner Vintage Collection 🤘🏼
For its scale, it’s extremely good.
😳 I was not expecting that surprise at the end! That’s a biggun!!!
I really like the look and size of ALL of those new Ships. Sadly i cannot justify those prices for me.
Thank you for your presentations!
I got the original midiscale falcon so I need this it looks beautiful

I hope Lego makes a small scale Outrider YT-2400 (Dash Rendar’s ship) that would be amazing!
Jang is our last line of (unsponsored) defense ❤
Thanks Jang for the Great review once again & your charity build was Awesome! 💕

I would use some tiles on the bottom to fill in areas around the cockpit.
I am happy you’re wearing the Starlight hoodie ❤
Cool Jang, your special setup of the background for this review!
The prints are appreciated. Turns out they can do it.

The cement mixer as the cockpit piece is way too good
I really enjoyed building this ship and it's perfect for my needs. Looks awesome.
I will pick it up on sale, it’s far too expensive right now.

It's worth mentioning that previous minifig scale Falcons were in the $200-$250 range
Finally there is a LEGO Millennium Falcon that I can afford to buy and display at my tiny apartment.
Great review as always, the small sabacc table and small figures are a beautiful inclusion. Can’t wait for the next video
Dejarik chess* sabacc is a card game ☝️🤓
Loving the sice and the look and would love to build it... BUT at thus price? No!
I know it's expensive, but this model is quite possibly the only one which can justify the price. I mean this as a compliment to the set but it looks *so* much better the further away you are. Mastercraft of greebling
Ha, enjoyed the stand build too!
I would like to see Lego release a series x-wing starfighter being part of this mid collection .
I feel these midi-scale ones are just absurdly expensive, they look fantastic and I'd love to buy some for myself and my family, but that's just way too much money.

"It just needs to be CHEAPER for EVERYBODY!" ❤❤❤
Another excellent mini scale space ship that’s overpriced but I’m very tempted as I have some shelf space that perfect to display it
It looks cool!
Yeah 85 I would not have done, thank the maker it's 65 ( Euro ) everywhere over here !
Just bought this for £50 and safe to say I am very happy to have paid that price!
The make or model name for the millenium falcon is the YT1300 if I remember correctly
$50 is what a reasonable collector model would cost
The price is definitely not great, but I hope this line continues. Being able to get display models of these big ships for not UCS prices is really cool. If they made a Ghost in this scale, it would be an easy purchase
Mini scale!
Loved this build but the flap under the cockpit does not clip as tightly on mine and will drop down with the slightest of force. I wonder if anyone else has this issue? I am going to rebuild that section again to see if that fixes it. Nice review, as always.
That is a DENSE Millennium Falcon! 😄
That gap behind the cockpit is problematic, but easily fixed with a 1x2 bracket and a couple of cheese slopes
How is it possible this one has prints and the tantive doesn’t 🤬
I just ordered one for $80 Canadian, seems like as good a price as I can expect.
The cockpit "tunnel" stands out to me as FAR too wide, but I understand the four stud width was dictated by the cone piece for the cockpit.
This does look like a nice mini display build. Waiting on a discount tho.
It looks like a bigger falcon shrunken down heh
What is the hasbro one you showed?
From the UK, I might've not got this from the cost, but found it at a much cheaper £60 at CostCo, so just picked it up the past weekend (would've been £50 tax free)
$65-70 US is far more fair… that said, this small Falcon looks really good and I’m happy to hear that it doesn’t have any stickers! I will not purchase this at full price - for me, a discount down closer to $65 is absolutely necessary to consider a purchase.
I agree 75$ feels right. The build was excellent (but not perfect) and the model is excellent.
That's a nice $60 set!
Definitely and obviously more affordable than the UCS version, but still feels like too much money for what you get...
I never, ever use stickers. I never apply the stickers. It just feels wrong to me. And I find them to be rarely necessary anyway.
Already spent $800 on the UCS one lol. NO MORE
I’d probably use my $20 VIP point discount on it. It would be worth it to me after that
When you wish for a smaller milenium falcon for years and when it finally releases its 85 dolars
Hey, a Falcon I can comfortably afford!
i just buy this, have like 30% off \o\, thanks for the review like always
Its available at a walmart near me for $44, i havent built any lego my whole life and passed by this earlier. Is it worth for a first timer?
id buy it for 40 bucks
No stickers ... That's worth a lil more in my opinion
It’s already on discount in my country for 70 euros at a nation wide toy store franchiser. That’s a sign this Falcon is overpriced…
Those gaps when viewed from the top are just horrible. Can't believe I'm the only one triggered by that. 85$ for this? No way I'm buying that. I don't even care about the lack of a minifigure.
Double those $85 and -give it to another person- buy a play scale model with way more pieces and minifigs
Good model, bad price.
It's overpriced. Somewhere a line has to be drawn even for a movie fan. This is not for me. Wouldn't buy it even for $50.
🪩✨🪩 I Will Certainly,Not Buy This Set at Full Price...☝️🪩😐
