Thank you Becky for making a video about my product. Having made a videos myself, I know that they are a lot of work to make. I want to make Edge to Edge even easier for you with the machine you are on. Baby Lock and Brother Machines bring all designs into the machine in the center position. (They over ride my left start point.) Right after you bring the design into the machine, there is a icon on your machine the looked like a needle over a piece of fabric. If you press that icon, you can change the start point over to the left side, and then use your “movement” arrows to line up with the prior bend point. No need for a paper template or a snowman! Thanks again for making the video.

WOW! Thank you so much for taking the time to comment! I'm just now seeing this (sorry!) I'll have to find that button you are talking about and test it out. Since I bought my machine from a private sale, I've never had a class to show me how to do all the fancy things my machine can actually do. I'd love to demo more of your products to my viewers. Please email me at powertoolswiththread@outlook.com

I like watching you and you do a great job showing what and how you do it. We learn from you and I’m thankful. You do you Becky, that’s right you do what works for you , it doesn’t mean anyone else has to do it like you , but you sure give us hope that maybe it might work better for us too, gives us hope that your not afraid to try something different. I hope I’m explaining well, and hope you know what i mean. But i say a big thank you and to all who put themselves out there to help us on sewing.

Becky, your video is better than all others using these quilting designs. You explain step by step, as usual, making it easy to see and understand. You are the absolute best.
Just love your videos Becky. I check daily
And sometimes multiple checks daily to see if you uploaded another video. I look forward to your videos. You are the BEST!!!

Becky, I love it that you just do it "Becky's way" as you have given me so much information and the nerve to just "do it" that I have never had before. I have been at the sewing for over 50 years but just stuck to the sewing police rules. Not any more! LOL Thanks for all you do and don't change.

You are so real, if you make a mistake I like that you show us what to do to correct it, we all make mistakes and that is how we learn. I have learned so much from you, thank you for helping all of us.

I have been watching your videos and am so glad I found you and I don’t want you to change. I am 72 years old and you are teaching me so many things. I have told you before that I love it when you say that’s my blog. Please don’t listen to the critics because I believe there are trolls that go from site to site saying not very nice things to people. I paid good money to take a classes for quilting and machine embroidery. I found I was so trying to do their thing and do so perfect that I just quit, that’s why I have a machine that costs thousands of dollars that was just sitting there. Then I found you. I have also found my favorite quilt maker that has taught me much. I love you both because you are just down to earth and if I make a mistake I don’t feel like a failure. So please keep on keeping on so I can get better doing this. I love your videos and have followed many of your links and purchased items to make playing with my machines easier. Thanks so much.

Hi Becky! I have been watching your channel for about 6 or 8 months now and love your videos! For the life of me, I cannot understand why people feel the need to be ugly to someone who is taking the time to try to give FREE instruction to others of us who may not have taken home-ec in school or whose mothers didn't teach us to sew! I have been sewing, short of making a couple of pillows when I was a kid, for a little over 2 years, and I learned just about every single thing I know form RUclips videos from kind people like you who have chosen to share a very valuable and enjoyable skill with the rest of us. I am eternally grateful for all the RUclips teachers out there who have given me the tools to have a hobby would never have had the opportunity to learn otherwise. So THANK YOU so much the time and effort you spend to make these videos!! Please keep it up 😊😊!

Hi Becky Love the fact that you 'are who you are' and know that we are only human and can always make mistakes. I have learned so much from you and have found new support and understanding from the recommendations you have given. I have for instance got out my Scan n Cut that had been put in my cupboard as i was overwhelmed with the technology of it. I followed your advise and went to Alanda Training Academy and they are brilliant, they take you through each action step by step. I am now enjoying using the Scan n Cut and have so much more confidence. My sewing is my therapy and so are you. You always make me smile. I am from England and I am a Londoner and we Londoners 'say it how it is' and you just carry on the way you are as its the right way. There's a quilters saying that goes. ONLY GOD IS PERFECT.

Becky, when you said "I have to do what works for me", it woke me up. I had been struggling with a v-neck facing on a top I was making for my daughter. I had to take the top apart and decided to make it in units, and then sew them together. (front with front neck facing and back with back neck facing). Then I sewed the front and back of the top together. And it worked like a charm. So happy. That worked for me! Lol.

    • @PowerToolsWithThread
      @PowerToolsWithThread  5 лет назад

Well I'm proud that you didn't give up on that facing. They can be SO challenging! Sometimes when I read the pattern instructions, I wonder..."What were they thinking?" Especially when you know there's a better and/or easier way. Thanks!

Hi Becky. I love watching you sew and make mistakes, rarely, like some of us regular sewers do. And then you show or tell us some options. That is so helpful. I have a Janome 11000 quilter/embroider machine. Never used the magnetic hoop. But I am now. You have the Brother but they all work in a similar way with a few tweeks. I think I can figure it out now. Thank you.

Ha Ha! The first time I used edge to edge, I quilted a large quilt. AND... I did it my way. I too did not follow the directions. And I stitched out template using black thread. Worked well. I think it’s cool to use my creativity when I sew. Everything is unique. And I, too, love using my magnetic hoop when quilting. I’ll never use a regular hoop again. I used my big one with my big quilt. Machines with pinpoint placement features make this so much easier. And...quilting is a labor of love😊🤗

I have used this on up to a queen size bedspread. I just attach the print out to a centering template for my monster hoop and tape it to the quilt. Then proceed with the matching marks with the target stickers . It takes a little time but it is really satisfying to finish the quilt myself. Love your videos and your personal take on how it all works out in the end.

YOU GO GIRL!!!!!! Love your videos, I have all the same toys as you. Only difference is my machine. I’m having trouble getting the hang of the weightless quilter. I’ll keep playing till I get it right.

I use mine in such unorthodox ways. Like I'll remove a screw and slide the foot all the way up the bar to where I need it and then weight the bar down on the other end if needed. Hey, whatever works right?

Hi Becky I just ordered the weightless quilter. Cant wait for it to come in. I don’t have a long arm, so that will be pretty close and awesome. Happy quilting.

I put the print and stick paper back on the backing and save it, especially things that I will use again. I keep them in a note book with page holders

Thank you for your video! Fantastic! I really loved it! Very helpful and educating on both Amelie Scott Designs and the Weightless Quilter! I was really wanting to see others use the weightless quilter and I love your techniques! I have a couple of Amelie Scotts designs and more on the way, but have not actually tried them yet. Just received them yesterday! Going to one of her classes at a quilt shop in October. Once again, thanks so much for your time and effort to encourage more of us to get with it!

Pay no attention to truly negative comments about your videos, some folks just tend to nitpick. I learned a looong time ago , that unless it is against the law or will hurt someone , to listen to your heart and follow only that. I love your channel, you are doing a lot of work for your subscribers and I for one really appreciate your efforts. When you make a boo boo, it makes me laugh knowing I am not the only one who can flub up. I am proud to take time to watch and just have fun. That is what our sewing hobby should be F U N. Thanks for your sweet spirit of of giving and sharing.

I love the way you provide and show each step in your embroidery. Thanks for the demo on doing the machine embroidery with the horizontal approach. I have the design and did a small quilt using the vertical method. I think the horizontal method looks easier. I am going to give this a try on my next project.
You are such an inspiration and very knowledgeable. Don’t let anyone’s negativity or criticism get you down.
Thanks so much for sharing your talents with us. Keep those get videos coming.

Don’t let others rain on you! I appreciate you sharing what works for you, so that if something doesn’t work for me by the “book”, you have given me other ideas! Standard leads to no new ideas:)
