Fabled can deffinetly do well as a turn 1 deck. Most times I end on 3-4 negates on board. His build is obviously not optimized because of the sealed format though.

The Fabled secret pack also comes with a lifetime supply of copium, with value like that it was obviously the best pack to open.

Doug I'm worried about your copium addiction MBT and Farfa need to stage an intervention.
It's not that the Fableds are bad but they 1) desperately need link support to unbrick bricked hands and 2) desperately need discard engines outside of their own archetype. The Dark World monster reborn spell and Magical Stone Excavation are a good start, but I don't know wether they're in master duel or what rarity they are. You have a solid fabled core, but you also have to understand that the SECOND Kushano and Chawa are banned, your deck now does absolutely nothing.
All in all they're fun and I love their looks and playstyle but I'm not gonna pretend that they suck ass compared to other archetypes which just go A into B B into C and C into the opponent scooping the game every time. Consistency is king, especially in sealed, as your first episode with them showed.
If farfa bans a single fabled card, I think that will be a W for the history books
You can use chaos space and halq to get a strong board while not needing to add too many cards since fabled loose consistency running too many non archetype cards.
Chaos space sends cards you don't need at hand like the beaver and the lvl 3 tunner who's effects activate from grave and you get to search collapserpent with it and after using it for synchro/link you can use it to chainblock halq out and get chawa out from deck. Banish collapserpent to ss wyvern and go into tg librarian or ragin depending on what you have. Then use chaos space from grave to draw another card and from then you keep generating advantage as you synchro climb. From there you can go into chaos ruler to search out another card wile still drawing an extra because librarian and it mills out cards you don't need such as more copies of chaos space or the tuners that you need in grave again. Special summon the beaver from grave and go into baronne with them. Then whatever other negate synchros you want on board.
Resummon chaos ruler and you can go into appolusa with halq, librarian, and chaos ruler at the end of the combo.
Also since chaos space searches lev /chaos ruler you can use them to bring back baronne the following turn to her effect since both special summon any monster after being summoned.
As someone who has played fabled since the beginning, and still brings fabled decks to their locals, fables are definitely not OP, But they have the potential to make some of the craziest boards.
No matter how many competitive decks I have experimented with, I will always keep coming back to Fableds just because there is nothing more satisfying than the dopamine of hitting your draws from Ragin.
Fabled have always been like the less favorite child of Dark World. It’s like Galaxy. People have a bad opinion of it because they don’t know exactly what they do, how to play them and because it’s not represented.
Problem is Doug can’t read. Just kidding - or am I??? - but really, the deck can be explosive, particularly in a closed format.
People also dislike Fabled because their most recent support gave them a level 6 synchro and a field spell that foolishes but no link monster to find it/discard some shit to unbrick your hands.
So basically, a bricked fabled hand in 2013 is as likely as a bricked fabled hand in 2022.

Also just use chaos space as a way to unbrick and send kushano or the beaver to the grave and search out wyverburster which can chainblock ash from hitting your draw monsters such as hyperlibrarian, ragin, or even halq. Use halq to go get chawa on the field, ss summon wyvern then go into ragin/librarian and you get to draw 4 cards at that point if you alreadybhave librarian out and from there just keep synchro climbing. It also searches lev or chaos ruler so you can go into Baronne if you're grave is already set up with enough monsters.
Edit: also I get the names for wyver and collapserpent backwards a lot so just make sure tonseach the dark one with chaos space.
Although Fableds really performed poorly, I think with a few more decent pulls and a more optimized build they can actually have some legs.
Just not with Dzeef as the pilot.
To play Fabled you literally have to play perfectly and you can bet your ass Dzeef will fumble the bag at any point.
If they had another negate, or/and another way to recycle resources. They be high mid. Maybe
I honestly value that you try these decks. I think Battling Boxers overstayed their welcome a bit but I could see fables popping off a little.
Don't let people dissuade you from trying non-meta decks and archetypes. It's fun seeing these weird decks pop off sometimes.
The problem with experimenting in MD is Konami making almost EVERYTHING that isn’t a rare bit of pity-supplied connective tissues like draw/search traps in Dragonmaids an SR or (More often), UR.
You look at your carefully scrimped and saved 300-390 UR dust, and find yourself thinking: “Hmm, this is enough to make a lot of meta decks, because I already own so many staples,” or:
“I could try out one of those decks that Farfa or Dzeef are constantly mentioning in passing. It’s going to be another 3-4 months til I build up some dust again, but I might like it, who knows?”
You end up with the only people playing memes or janky non-meta archetypes being whales and content creators.
While it may not be too competitive I think with some pull luck for Dangers the Deck could be pretty neat going forward, but it just bricks too hard on it's own
It's better to run chaos space with lev/chaos creator and collapserpent/wyvernburster. Chaos space adds consistency and is guaranteed card advantage unlike dangers randomness that can get rid of cards you need in hand. The only one I run is the snake since it special summons itself.

It's funny cuz fableds get less bricky if you play a critical mass of them, but that requires playing a critical mass of weaklings and hoping your draws take you to good places

Most people are always saying run them with dangers but it increases bricked hands since fables want to play with each other and have a lot more consistency when you don't mix them with another archetype. The great thing about using chaos is that you only need to run 4 other non archetype cards at 1 copy each in the deck so you don't have to worry as much with bricking and the spell card can unbrick you since you can search what you need as opposed to leaving it to luck.
Dangers are... fine, but really important is stuff like "Ascator, Dawnwalker" and Chaos Ruler

[6:14] That Dragonmaid player ABSOLUTELY could out Cyber Slash as long as they didn't get greedy and actually read what she did on the field. Normal Kitchen, tag out for Tinkhec in the battle phase, destroy Cyber Slash with Tinkhec, and make any additional plays (probably summoning Sheou) in MP2 without Cyber Slash on the board. Remember, you're playing in Rookie.
Back in 2013, they consistently opened Double Quasar. They were able to build a synchro board like no other deck. They were so good they also exploited pre errata Brionac.
Exploiting pre-errata brionac isn't as much of a win when 3/4s of the decks in the format abused him. Not for infinite combos, mind you, but still to win the game.

You can still end on really strong bord though with hyperlibrarian. Getting Apollousa, Borrelend savage, and Baronne isn't too hard if you run a chaos variant with lev/chaos creator. Only problem is you can't really fit much handtraps since they brick you.
@@scxizm7828 you are absolutely right, 2013 was the last time I played YGO in person. I am not familiar with the format today, but I still like to collect the cards. Nor do I want to learn anymore, trying to get back in is not consumer friendly. I’d rather just spend my money on video games.

To be clear, I don’t understand how TF is that a decent field.
I remember seeing a guy back in like 2016 who was an absolute god at piloting fabled and was able to make like 5 quasars in 1 turn.

While they brick bad, I have literally watched a game where someone made three quasar dragons with pure fabled turn 2 of a game against dinos, completely blowing his opponnent out of the water. They definently have potential, they just need at least a decent hand.
ALWAYS send Abanc with the field spell it can be special summoned from grave yard when you discard a fabled monster- and Lurrie, Cerburrel, Krus, Ganashia would benefit from this as extenders
It's better to send Kushano to Grave with the Field Spell. It's a recycling discard and it's better because you won't draw onto him unlike Abanc which is more beneficial to draw upon

What's funny is that fabled does have strong card, there one that and keep summoning from the Grave, the tuners that you want to discard. They make great additions to danger darkworld decks

Fabled has some crazy shit, like The Fabled Unicore which can even negate some stuff that is cannot be directly responded to such as Super poly and counter traps

Fabled is my fav archetype, but honestly, the are kinda unplayable without Dangers or good Synchros. Maxx C is not the end of the world actually, you want to play Card Destruction anyway, so you can go for the challenge, but Nib kinda kills the Deck because going for a negate early usually mean that you cannot go for anything else
I have a fabled deck that's basically a halq/don shell, but I learned cupid pitch can search out catsith, and coral dragon can discard catsith and pretty much destroy 2 cards.
Unicore is a bad choice in the first duel due to the difference in cards you both have in hand. It would in this case be good to have a different lvl 4 synchro
I was surprised when people in the chat said they suck. I’m not saying they are good because… they aren’t, but for a bad deck Fabled is honestly broken. At least in sealed. If they don’t brick.
The issue is a lot of "bad" synchro decks brick far too easily. Decks like this are so prone to bricking because it can end up being "Oops! All Tuners!" (or the reverse) and you are literally passing turn.
The issue is Doug would probably need to go into this pack AGAIN or pull a way to consistently summon Chaos Ruler or something (he does have a craft) and even then what is the "win condition" here even on decent hands. Unicorn isn't enough and Fabled, like most Synchro decks, relies a lot on generic boss monsters like Quasar in the past or even just a Baronne now, but you can't really use a craft for Baronne since you aren't summoning her consistently with what he has now.
You Doug, you need to add Dangers! For a whole lot of spice. Trust me. If you want, I'll share an old deck list for inspiration
As someone who has fabled raven in their top 10 favorite cards fabled absolutely feels like cope but yeah the deck can definitely put out more than that absolutely miserable display in EP10

@@thegoodoldays911 sealed DD is on another level simply because they're all in one pack since the archetype is so huge. A copernicus at Rare here and a Gengis as Super Rare there you're eventually gonna cobble up a pretty formidable recursion engine that summons a bunch of big bunguses pretty easily every game no problem.
But you could say that about half the archetypes in the game if only their packs weren't pure liquid ass because half of the cards are Virtual World and the other half are Tindangle, for example.

I run a small fabled engine in my melffy deck. Abanc discard cerb is a nice extender or a free halq for a beast deck. I dont run any of the fabled extra deck cards tho. Instead you just make naturia beast with rescue cat or obedience schooled.
No guys, believe me, once doug gets tha danger pack and the darkworld pack and lightsworn pack and chaos pack he can play a semi decent deck, this is the way
I do use the unicorn for my melfy tribrigade deck and it does help when I can use some of the melffy cards to manipulate my hand to an extent.

DDD Deus Machinex would just attach your monsters as xyz material so you wouldn't be able to go for most of these synchro plays
