Now one thing to keep in mind, when you buy at another park. Your local park loses out on those sales and will get a potentially reduced budget, as sales and attendance matter. Where you buy your pass is what park gets credit for that purchase, and not your home park if you choose not to buy a pass or etc at your home park.
The only works at Legacy Cedar Fair parks... The season passes for Legacy Six Flags parks require you to activate at the home park you select by visiting that park. The terms on their site state that.
So, did you attend any of the preview days for TT2? I did media day, which was great, then did coastermania keychain day, which was Prestige pass day. That one was a mess. I never knew there were so many people who bought Prestige pass at CP. Essentially, passholder preview days are not all they're made out to be. When only 1 ride is going, or 2 maybe 3, because they had corkscrew, and Magnum going for the passholder previews.
@@Spike-sk7ql I'm a prestige passholder and was at both. Definitely busy day for passholder preview, but Mike Maney was handing out extra boarding passes which was a nice bonus for extra rides. I find good value in the prestige pass, but obviously the limited number of attendees for media day made that unforgettable. I can't even imagine what the gold days were like.
@TrueLies23 I heard the gold days were pretty crazy. We are just platinum pass holders. 4 of those, 4 meal plans, 4 premium drink plans, and 4 all season fast lane, is enough money to come off. We definitely get our money out of it though. 45 times to CP, 22 KI, 9 KD, 4 Carowinds. Next year is Dorney, and maybe great adventure. Idk though because they really pissed me off with the closures. Even KD! Berserker was the LAST operating looping starship in the country! I absolutely loved Berserker.
@@Spike-sk7ql that's an incredible value you're getting there, and supporting the parks at that. I only have to get 2 of everything but I see how the returns diminish on the platinum vs prestige.. I can't even remember what pushed us over the upgrade edge years ago 😂 We put off a Dorney-GA-Hershey trip last year and I regret it big time... I'm hoping that we've seen the last of the "swift removals" and that from this point on, they will be a bit more sensible. Berserker removal had me really upset. I won't call my support unconditional, but up to this point I've always viewed renewal time as a moment to evaluate what I am getting, and it's always been the same story: nothing has decreased the value of what I purchase even if nothing has increased the value.
With all that is going on with Kings Dominion right now - I made the decision to CANCEL my 2025 Kings Dominion Gold Pass with the All Park Pass upgrade and the 2025 All Season Drink option. -- I ended up getting a FULL refund from my Kings Dominion 2025 purchase that I paid back in August. I then went the route mentioned here - and re-purchased the 2025 Gold Pass / All Park Pass Upgrade and the 2025 All Season Drink Plan - out of Canada's Wonderland. Even with the 'higher' Gold Pass Price right now (instead of the renewal price) - with the Canadian to US Conversion rate - I saved money. And - I added the pass to the Canada Wounderland App - under new passes - and it took - and says active. I then added that pass to my Kings Dominion App, - and that also shows up as 'active' now as well. So - next I will add the All Season Dining to the All Park Pass - as well as the All Season / All Park Fast Lane - (the 'savings' on the All Park / All Season Fast Lane with the exchange rate is over $300!).
Don, I'm sorry, but the Beast is not the ride that KI can use as "that" coaster. Sorry, but it's almost 50. You can't ride the coat tails of the Beast forever. And Diamondback, and Banshee are both better than the Beast. So is Mystic Timbers. The park didn't try and make a "that" coaster with Dback, or Banshee. Then Orion? Why are they surprised that they didn't get a headline coaster, when the last 3 thrill coasters came from the least "thrilling" company in B&M. Now, I am NOT bad mouthing B&M. I love their rides. Both Dback, and Banshee are chefs kiss. Kings Island needs a ride from Intamin, (multi launch) or Mack (extreme spinner) or a Vekoma thrill (Bermuda Blitz like Lech Coaster). B&M will never deliver another ride that's better or as good as Fury 325. None of them are whippy, and thrilling anymore. B&M is the graceful, smooth company. And that's OK. Sorry for the rant, but no. The Beast is not the parks headline attraction.
I'm all for saving money. But the cost of a KI seasonal pass is roughly the cost of a Single day ticket at Disney Animal Kingdom, a half day park at best.
They really fit into the niche of less expensive but high thrills. Best deal is buying a wonderland season pass then upgrading to all park. It's $ cheaper to buy than than the same a Cedar point.
They're gonna end up changing the cost of Canada's passes to more equal the exchange rate now. I'm honestly surprised it wasn't already, because this has been known by people for a while.
I picked up KI Gold passes over last year Haunt because it was cheaper than 2 single day ticket, but I also have a six flag membership. I plan on keeping the membership active because the price I have is great as I have been a member for quite some time. So 2025 I have 2 options for an All Park Passport, but going forward in 2026 I would just use my membership, unless they drop the six flags memberships, or change the rates. To be fair I don't have a home six flags or cedar fair park, so pass perks aren't a big deal, but I do get to Kings Island every year
To me, I believe people should decide where they take their stand and stick to it, but it's one or the other: support your home park, make sure you spend a cetain amount per visit and expect good investments, or don't do any of that. Because to support Canada's Wonderland and then complain about the mediocre investments, well... that is the major issue KI and their regulars will have in the coming years. It was so silly of people to buy canadas wonderland passes and wonder why they couldnt attend CP passholder preview. Dude, you gave your money to another park and are sticking your hand out to your home park! Pick one or the other, because that is asinine.
Are you sure you did that conversion right? I know it was a week ago, but it’s $294 today and it doesn’t look like the conversion rate has changed much since then.
Positive. It changes a lot. Even day-to-day. I double checked the math because it had changed pretty wildly from the first time I looked at it and when we re-convered it right before recording. The exchange rate is crazy!
We bought our 2019 platinum (called at the time) passes out of Canada and had ZERO troubles processing it and using it at the other CF parks. We saved over $300 total for two passes. It’s a gem of a place! I hope to get back there this year with the APP. This year we shopped around for a gold pass/APP after taking a year off during the new changes to the passes. My 2024 gold pass is actually from CP because it was cheaper at the time we were purchasing by about $30 per pass.
that's why they don't require activation at home park. What might happen? Sadly- is that they will hike the price for Canadians closer to the exchange rate price and that would feel terribly unfair for Canadians.
I'm a family of 4 we all have meal, drink all park and all season fast lane and I did not go through Canada 🤦. I wonder if I could still get a hard card and not have to use my phone to get in. I never take a phone into the park
The only major thing that does not work the same is grand opening perks, Like if your park is having Pass holder days or opening a new coaster, if your pass is from a different park YOU WILL NOT GET IT OR BE ALLOWED ENTRANCE! 😂AND THAT IS WHAT YOU GET....llike Don said that is what happened last year to the cheapskates at Cedar Point😂😂 But KI isnt getting any new coasters anyways so it dont effect yous guys. Unless your going to media day for your new Family attraction😂😂😂
Fully loaded gold pass at Kings Island is $1,500...
Fully loaded gold pass at Canada's Wonderland, after taxes and exchange is $1,130 now

Only drawback is say CP is your homepark and they do a sirens curse pass holder preview you won't be able to attend being you bought the pass thru CW

The exchange rate is crazy strong. Buy EVERYTHING from CW. Even with the higher tax, you'll save $100's!

Did you see the fiesta Texas prices for season passes . 80 dollars for gold 170 for prestige 9 per month for food or 12.99 a month for all parks.

I am REALLY hoping that food/drink plans work at SF AND legacy CF parks. That would be amazing for us! (I know not 2025 but hoping for 2026)
I’d bet 2026 is quite possible for that. The systems will probably be unified by then.

What about Six Flags: Mexico? Anyone know if & when the all park Fast Lane will be good at both CF & SF parks?
How would the app work in the case of the all park passport? Do you download each individual park app you are visiting and then log into it?
You can add your pass to any park’s app and it will appear as that park’s Gold Pass.
YEP! Do it all the time. Home park is CW but we spend more time at CP and just add the pass to that park app.
We bought our 2019 platinum (called at the time) passes out of Canada and had ZERO troubles processing it and using it at the other CF parks. We saved over $300 total for two passes. It’s a gem of a place! I hope to get back there this year with the APP.

Until they enforce that first visit rule to activate a pass.
But what if you buy a KI APP and want to visit Knott’s or another park that opens before KI? Is the pass only valid once your local park opens?
I've done this for YEARS and they have never enforced this. ---if they did though? CW is my home park so it's doable for us.
that's why they don't require activation at home park. What might happen? Sadly- is that they will hike the price for Canadians closer to the exchange rate price and that would feel terribly unfair for Canadians.
