      linux lol to be honest if you could install and use some solution and you are not hook in apple ecosystem , its pretty good.
      Else if you had money yes mac its fine.
      But i would say Windows for gaming and Mac/Linux(depend on your job) for working . Actually with proton linux is actually better for gaming that mac lol

      Mac for sure, I personally have a windows 10 machine and a Mac, and when I try to use the windows machine it's so frustrating because it is always updating, and windows 10 is so confusing and frustrating compared to macOS + MacOS can have Final Cut Pro which is my preferred editing software, and even though my MacBook is 9 years old it handles my 1080p videos fine (most of the time) because apple designs their apps around there software and hardware to make most of them. And the way they integrate the iPhone, iPad etc. is truly amazing, especially AirDrop and iMessage.

    To move maximized windows from a display to another you don't need to shrink them. Just swipe up with three fingers on the touchpad and drag the window you wanna move. (U gotta drag it to that section in the top part of the screen where u see all the desktop and windows previews).

    these tips might help:
    right click on trackpad -->settings/trackpad/point&click panel/secondary click and you will find different options
    moving full screen apps to monitor -->use mission control (swipe up with 3 or 4 fingers or just simply press f3 button) and drag and drop virtual desktops
    you can change this shortcuts in settings.
    I will recommend enabling 3finger drag if you use trackpad (every other shortcut will be available with 4 fingers instead of three)

    I agree about the challenges in the transition from Windows to MacOS. I also do a Google search on how to do certain tasks on MacOS. But after some time, you get used to it and it's so intuitive.
    I currently own an M1 MacBook Air (my first MacBook) and it's my favourite laptop, better than the previous Windows-based laptops that I have used before. I am eyeing on the base M3 14-inch MacBook Pro.

    Hold Alt/Option when maximizing, in that case window will not be full screen (no menu) but full size and you can drag it whenever you like.
    Spotlight is not only cleaner, it indexes whole filesystem and file content so it's full text search. Yes, even in images with some text. You can extend both spotlight and quicklook (aká space bar preview) by file extensions so you can preview 3D files, have color in code documents like php, c, js etc.
    In quicklook if you select multiple or all files and hit space bar you can preview all at once in grid, or you can preview one like you are doing but with cursor arrows switch between files, no need to close preview

    I made the switch to MacOS a few month back and I don't regret it. The Stuff that works, does realy just work. (Although things, that don't work, realy don't work either)
    13.4 Ventura is awesome on my M1 MacBook Air. (Sonoma drains the battery to quick IMO)
    There where a lot of things to get used to. The first thing I did was install "Alt+Tab" since that was one thing I liked from Windows.
    Unfortunatly, MacOS puts every "Fullscreen" (not "Maximized") window on its own virtual desktop, but you can easily rearrange them via the mouse and the Mission Control.
    I also recommend the "Rectangle" App, it is like "Alt+Tab" in that is is permanently on, but it provides shortcuts, that lets you
    Tile the screens, like you would on Window. Including cmd+up or double clicking the windows title to just "Maximize" (not "Fullscreen") Windows.

    4:24 in the preview view, you can use the arrow keys to select other files in finder. This makes previewing a long list of images so much quicker. It also keeps the previously previewed file in memory, so if you are previewing massive files which usually takes a while to load, you can swap between the current and previous file lightning fast to compare.

    I agree that most of the experience is about product integration. I committed the mistake of having a Mac and a Galaxy phone, and then a Windows and an iPhone. Both were lame experiences.
    I currently have a high end HP laptop, Samsung phone, Lenovo tablet, Sony headphones, OnePlus earbuds, Garmin smart watch, Kasa Smart lights, switches and stuff, and Amazon echo devices; according to what I think is the best available product in the market whenever I need a change. I can't tell you how much I love my ecosystem. Product integration has been marvelous for me, as I am able to determine what brand has the best product for me instead of one alone making those decisions (limiting, in my opinion) for me. It's a bummer that I can't use apple products, as I am sure that at least one of their products would be the best in the market in my opinion (maybe the earphones, or even their MacBook pro)
    I am sure though, that I would also love the product integration and ecosystem that comes with using Apple devices only. Bottom line though, I think it's not about the software of brands, it's about high quality products, and ALL Apple products are high quality, that's the difference, and that is why it gives the impression of superiority.

    I've been a Mac user for just a bit longer than you...since 1985. The first Mac I used was the Mac Plus with a tiny screen, 20G external drive that made clunky noises! What did the deal for me was the environment and the experience it provided. You could just do stuff without having to think about the hardware which was transparent. At that time a lot of computer users did not like Macs because they couldn't pull off the back and fiddle with the internals. I had no interest in that as I just wanted to use the thing and be productive. Ive just bough my umpteenth Mac, an M2 Mac Studio. The deal is still pretty much the same as it was back then, apart from the clunky noises. You just plug it in, load up your apps and get to work. The other major issue is reliability. Ive had numerous Macs over the years and without exception they all lasted till what I wanted to do exceeded their hardware. Wanting to edit HD, then 4K etc. then import and edit uncompressed RAW 61MP images from my Sony A7R5. Though in all honesty my 2020 Intel Mac was still capable though becoming a tad sluggish on occasions in FCP. With Apple products you do pay a premium but all the products just work and come work together in a seamless way. Airdrop is one of those features that once you have it you think wow how did I get bay without it. In the end I won't say Apple is best rather it's just a matter of taste. IF you are a visual creator then I would advise Apple though for hard core gaming it would have to be a PC.

      @freecivweb4160 10 месяцев назад

      When considering longevity of the computer and value of time saved pulling your Windows hair out, are you SURE that you are actually paying a premium on Mac? I computed it all and found out it's a 40% savings, rather than a premium.

      @ericrobinson8078 10 месяцев назад

      you could well be right. Having never been an active windows user Ive never given that angle much thought. Ive always just wanted to use the computer to do what I do and not get in the way; film, photography and in the past 3d modelling and design. The Mac has always allowed me to get on with my work ....well mostly as it's not infalible.@@freecivweb4160
