    3:24 I think you can also just select a single vertice one of the letters and hit control-L to select all connected vertices. Has saved me bunches of time. I'm very, very excited for y'all getting into blender

    To separate the letters you could also select all of them and in the separate menu choose "by loose parts". This should separate them all at once, since it separates all non connected groups of vertices into separate objects.

      it didn't work for some reason, it created thousands of parts so I'm guessing the photoshop model isn't straight forward

    Nice vid! Instead of selecting every individual letter, you could select the whole thing, press P and press loose parts and that should do the same thing.

    For anyone having trouble with importing the .obj file into blender: go to file, import, wavefront (.obj) and click the file you need (you might not see the title in the screen so zoom out a bit or see if its hidden behind the cube.     Intense! Love this title more than the original! This was Brilliant! So well explained in detail Ryan, an art-in-itself! If I owned all those programs to do this that would be great but I don't. Developing presets for something as complex as this would be worth a sale to two I'm sure. I certainly buy it!! Cheers 🍻

    Skip all the steps before 2:50 and just type your text in Blender. Then convert curve to mesh and continue following the tutorial.

      There's no easy way to get this kind of nice bevel on one side of your text in Blender. The photoshop method is much quicker and actually pretty clever. So better do it the way they did.

    when i import my title to element 3D, it doesnt scale the letters seperate, ive done everything in blender but it just sees it as one whole object.
    EDIT: Solution to my own problem, i was autistic and selected the photoshop OBJ

    You could have used sparate by loose parts to easily separate the each letters of the title.

    Photoshops 3D option sadly doesnt work anymore, unless I'm having technical issues, they said they would discontinue the 3D option.

    I suggest you use the beta version of Blender if you start doing tutorial since it going to be released in a few month and improve a lot the experience for new users.

    You don't need 3D here, it can be done entirely in After Effects using Inner Glow and then CC Glass like Kramer does on his texts

    Just a quick question, I've been trying to re-create this technique for the past several days, but whenever I get to the texturizing the text in Element3D part, the textures look extremely flat and fake on my text. If I do a custom object in Element3D and place the same texture on it, it looks great, high res, and realistic. Any ideas why the textures would be looking so strange only on my imported .obj from blender?

    To select a single letter in blender you just have to enter edit mode and press L on the letter. Cool video

      @@VFXProductionsRT Won't work in this case as the polygons of the letters aren't connected. The obj you get out of photoshop has a completely messed up typology. If you want to do it this way you have to do a limited merge of all the vertices first.

    You really need to put a warning on videos where you'll be using pricey plugins! Nice tip on the Photoshop 3D export there, but I'll be doing the rest in Blender and saving my wallet...

    Interesting epsiode! The Blender part was a bit inefficient though. A to select all then P to seperate. Select by loose parts and done. :)

      it's easier, besides blender doesn't have multiple styles of extrusion like ps, it just puffs everything
