Thank you for the tutorial. It helped a lot in making this. I made this for my friends. I did follow almost all of your steps and I didn't have videos so I have used pictures and applied same transformation and effects to it.
I figured the steps to rotate the texts by myself and signature tutorials were available on RUclips. Overall a genuine thanks to you for your help.

I've made one and it's an absolute beast to render, I'm talking upwards of twelve hours
Hey, dude. I know it’s quite a while, but had your render succeeded back then?
Cause I made a pretty nice 20 sec sequence and seems like render moves on 1% in 20+ minutes. GPU usage is 0%... I’m afraid it won’t work out.
@@_horaze_ It would play if I left it for long enough. Your best bet is to render it out as an image sequence and use that. If there are any errors you want to fix, just re-render those small segments and slot them in at the right place. The main render for the image sequence of all 40+ characters took over 8 hours, I left it rendering overnight
@@HILLSIDECOMICS thanks for your reply. Unfortunately I have no that much time... I've just tried "CC Radial Blur" instead of "CC Light Burst". I've applied it on the adjustment layer between upper and lower tracks.
The same result was reached, but it renders instantly.

Great tutorial I have pretty much mastered it through this though I have one question. After you set the Blending Mode to screen I notice the bright lights often go inwards towards the person in the video where as the endgame ones almost go outwards as though they are shining from a projector. Is there a way to control which way the brightness goes so it shines outward and not inward obscuring the person we are crediting? Thanks again!

I’ve looked at all sorts of tutorials, but for some reason nothing has worked so far. I have AfterEffects CS6, version 11.0.4, from 2013.

Hello, really great video, genuinely amazing, unfortunately each sequence only about 5 seconds each, uses all 8 cores at 100% load on my ryzan 2700 and takes several minutes to render a frame, I think it could be cc light burst effect but I’m not sure, any ideas?
Yea that effect is definitely memory and CPU intensive. But I was originally doing this effect on my 2014 iMac and it didn’t take that long. I’m curious if there’s something else contributing to the problem. Did you have a lot of other programs open or a lot of tabs open in your internet browser? When you’re doing more intensive things in after effects or premiere it’s better to have only those individual programs running.

Same bro, my rx 570 + ryzen 5 3500x takes 1 hour rendering 20 sec of this sequence with minimal usage of light burst effect.

I made 20sec sequence and render actually stoped on 13%
I assume processor can not render the frame (i5-8400). It seems like Light Burst doesn’t use GPU at all. That really sucks.

When I go back to Premiere, it either crashes or it says Media MIssing. I try to restart the program and relocate the file but it stalls to load and doesnt
Hmm, that’s strange. Are you editing a project in Premiere and then replacing a clip with an After Effects sequence? I’ve only ever done this where I work entirely in After Effects, export the video clip and then bring it into Premiere if needed.
Cool effect, but unfortunately it takes a longg time for rendering, my 20 sec sequence with minimal usage of light burst effect & only 2 layers takes 1 hour rendering at medium bitrate

Do you mean when making a mask? You can try checking or unchecking the invert mask option, depending on if it is already checked off or not.

Hey man so I've done all the effects for my first character and they look great problem is when I try to play the clip now it doesn't play any idea why it isn't letting me play the clip now with the effects
That’s great! Glad it’s looking good! If all the effects worked and it all looks good, that’s obviously a good sign. I’m thinking it’s a problem with the playback performance. Sometimes when doing heavier effects, even on a good computer it will barely be able to play when trying to preview. I’m not sure if you’ve already done this or not but the first thing I do is drop the quality down to 1/4 and see what happens. This usually lets me play it, at least even a bit. I have a pretty powerful computer and last night, I was working on a new effect and could not get it to play in After Effects. I had to render/export out that section of my video just to see what it looked like properly lol. So yea, not sure if that’s something you’ve done or tried yet but let me know!
@@AlexPerri Yeah man thanks for the reply, I did end up switching to half res and it seemed to work much better still a bit of stuttering happening but no where near as bad. Just one more question, so I've exported the video now with all effects on characters and so on but the render is very stuttery it self I've got no clue why this is happening hoping you would maybe know?
At 10:41 how do you blur the border of the image ?
I'm trying to do this, but whenever I got to making the mask after applying the light blast, nothing shows through (except for a big black spot). Any idea what I'm doing wrong?
Hmm, it’s hard to say without seeing your project and settings. Did you try inverting the mask?
