The Legendary Edition highlights how much ME2 doesn't hold up, a lot of it feels like a chore now
They should've made more updates and changes to ME2 LE, like I'm not asking to rehaul the gameplay to be like ME3 or change the main narrative or anything like that but they really could've at least lined up with some of the better QOL mods
Like Legion's place in the narrative and making the Reaper IFF installation more of an open option
Also have the Arrival DLC make more sense, it's kinda incoherent as it is and feels a bit undercooked, maybe have the Virmire Survivor be a squadmate there or something
With that said I still really love this game, the character stuff is great and many set pieces are excellent.
The Suicide Mission is a classic and that feeling with you walking in the hangar bay and everyone is looking at you like "Yeah we just did that shit" at the end is a great moment
My favourite loyalty mission are Tali , Legion and Mordin.
Not to mention Jack Wall kills it with the soundtrack
Yeah at times it feels like Michael Bay taking over the franchise and there is a lot of style over substance in the narrative but I still love this game

2:33 The old movies and TV shows had to many sounds presenting them. Then came the novel IN SPACE NO ONE HEARS YOU CRY - that one had changed a lot even for MASS EFFECT 2 :)

thermal clips was such a downgrade IMO. i think ME1 gear system should have been 3, 2 should have been 1 and 3 should have been 3. as is the evolution is backwards. the scene with shepard and conrad verner talking about thermal clips was top notch.
Scanning was so garbage only added to pad out playtime. thankfully there's mods now to remove that artificial timesink

I only got into Mass Effect when the LE came out. Had several playthroughs by now, and ME2 is by far the lowest on the list. In terms of story, writing, world building, and atmosphere, it cannot hold a candle to ME1.
